Is the worst Alien movie. Everyone says Alien 3, but the directors cut of Alien 3 mogs Resurrection.
Getting a French man to direct an Alien movie was the right move. It's a shame Whedon was the writer.

Newt is without a doubt the worst thing about Alien 2 and I'm glad they killed her off in Alien 3.She's a walking plot contrivance, like a set of house keys you drop into a stormdrain to raise the tension and does nothing but fall into duckts and getting kidnapped.

Resurrection is stupid, but ultimately harmless because unlike shit like 3/Prometheus/Covenant, don't affect proper canon and can be easily disregarded. Plus Resurrection at least has prime Winona, Brad Dourif, the underwater scene, and the scene with the clones.

Rather than being indifferent to it like some other movies at that age, I recall being extremely disappointed and upset by what I had just seen. I think a lot of it had to do with killing off Hicks and Newt but I also remember being incredibly bored by everything that happened after and because of that I avoided rewatching it until a few months ago. Gotta say it was even worse than I remember. Killing those characters was absolutely a big fuck you to everyone who liked Aliens, they butchered Ripley’s character, none of the main cast was as likable or interesting as even the minor characters in the previous films, and god the special effects are horrendous. At least Resurrection knows it’s a stupid movie and rolls with it. Anyway:Alien=Aliens > Romulus > Prometheus > Covenant > Earth > Resurrection >>> Alien 3

I havnt watched Alien 3 yet but I did start watching Resurrectuon and turned it off like 10 minutes in because it felt insulting just how fucking stupid it was.
On top of being really weird (fun!), Resurrection also has the best kill of the entire franchise and spinoffs w/Purvis
