When he kills The Boys in the comic it’s clear he’s a mad dog who Hughie needs to put down.

From the supes that've been on screen, Annie and Kimiko are a small price to pay for getting rid of every rat bastard supe out there. They were even okay with dying just a couple episodes before.Comes off as rather selfish of Hughie, really.
