My issue with the ending isn't that they made Homelander a bitch, we always knew that, it's that they couldn't have him destroy everything in his life and kill himself. Having him say I Wanna Suck Some Cocks as an ending is just gay. The best comedy would have been Homelander trying to find his mom (I'm joking, obviously), failing, and becoming obsessed with Hannah Montana. When Hannah Montana does not return his love, he just completely breaks and destroys the Country Music Television Studios and all of Nashville, Tennessee. All the other characters must now go arrest him so he can be sedated, mindwiped, and whatever else the government needs to do to reset him. Instead Hannah Montana comes out, plays her hit single See You Again, and he suffers a complete mental breakdown.Cut to several weeks later when everyone has moved on and Homelander Model 2 has been delivered. He's basically the same but with some personality quirks and false memories to control him easier. The real Homelander is now within a a skilled nursing facility where he has has aged rapidly and watches Homelander (2) giving a Fox interview with his stepdad Billy Ray Cyrus. Homelander then quietly cries and passes away. This is an ending many boomers and their adult children can personally relate to.
