I have never seen a single episode of The Boys. Does it have any appeal whatsoever beyond “what if Superman was… LE BAD”
>>
There's lots of dick sucking and shit eating

You forgot the sprays of cum and gay rape

No.

No.
>>
Its just a other show about psychopaths and serial killers. Do you enjoy reading about Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy etc?
>>

>zoomer """"humor""""
>>
It’s a mental break down of a man who is up in a pedestal like how we see Superman. But behind the veil, it’s a lot like Hollywood corruption, and he’s realizing that he doesn’t have respect but fear. He realizes more and more that he’s alone, and no one truly actually appreciates him not just because it’s power but his own choices. Overtime he becomes more self-deluded to the point he has a full on God complex.

But I’m a weirdo that actually likes the ending. Because he doesn’t get that grand finale, he is forced to be humbled and die like everyone else.

Yes because a dolphin gets catapulted through the air and run over by a truck while the Spice Girls are playing

Yep, he never got to change the world, for better or worse. He'll only ever be remembered for being a liar, a cheat, and dying like a pussy on television

it is white people BAD brown people GOOD #3240249 written by small hat people
>>

very incoherent and low iq post. no surprise (You) liked it
>>
>>220648729
Yeah, I get why other people didn’t like it after learning that there was this build up to this big finale. It would feel like false advertising. But didnt know if the build up the made on twitter. So when I saw it, Homelander being robbed of this scorched earth, bringing everyone down with him ending, felt satisfying. Mad the people that wanted a violent purge in the series didn’t get that. The people that want a good in the world chose peace and got it.
But again that works narratively. if someone was promised violence and a Crusade TV show wise, I get why people are pissed.
>>220649316
Why?
>>
>>220648215
the show unironically does have a lot of dick scuking and a lot of insinuation to scatology
>>
>>220648194
I just watched the first few episodes last night. It's basically trying to be a realistic take on how people with super powers would actually act in the real world. Most of them are portrayed as corrupt narcissistic assholes. Whether or not the show succeeds at this is up to debate.

OP is this you behaving like this? Why did you ask a question if this is your real stance and you're dead set on hating it no matter what?
>>
Do you like male nudity and simulated gay sex? The shows for you then, especially season 4(though season 5 has male nudity in almost every episode, it's lacking on gay sex)

Season 1 is a 7/10, don't bother afterward.

Not OP. I'm mocking you because you write like a low-T faggot. Sorry for the confusion.
>>
>>220649891
I think it depends who you ask and episode. After people getting pissed off by this finale and seeing that Eric Kripke is crashing out
it made curious on who writes it. Turns out different episodes have different writers and directors all the time which lines up with my experience of how enjoyed it.

watch that and turn off the tv and make your own shit up for how it ends and never return to this series again

Season 1 was good, but the rest was just ok. I feel like Invincible has done a way better job at telling a revisionist/adult superhero show
>>
>>220648194
People say Season 1 is good but it has the exact same edginess and writing. The only difference is it was less about Trump and instead pretending that criticisms from 2005 bush era were still relevant today.
>>
>>220650137
Interesting. Honestly I am enjoying so far, even as a ultra right wing chud.
>>
>>220650291
Show was always edgy but it wasn't always shouting cock, anus and balls at every turn. After a certain point (I think Herogasm) it felt like it became a competition in the writers room to see who can be the most vulgar.
>>
>>220648194
Some of the comedy worked for me. Also, when it wasn't yet obsessed with Trump and chuds, the satire was pretty good too.
>>
>>220648194
The first season hyped up a tense secret war to expose and neutralize an army of corrupt superheroes, then it became a lazy repetitive soap opera that cared more about xitter's topic of the week
>>
>>220650534
/co/ here
Here's a good example of what went wrong with the satire.
In the original comic, both the Female and Mother's Milk's origin stories have to do with the labor conditions working for Vought making compound V.

The show couldn't do this. It hit too close to home for Amazon.
When the comic, for all its fragrant edgelordery, took the piss on American culture. No if-ands-or-buts, it took the piss on the whole of American culture.
There's an entire bit about St. Patrick's day where it points out that pretty much every holiday and cultural celebration in America always ties back to some moment in history where America had to import workers.
The show really had to pull back on this shit.
>>
>>220648194
>basic bitch "what if the good guys were actually evil" premise
>basic bitch "in reality [thing] would be fucked up and violent" deconstruction
>exists because garth ennis sperged out about people liking superheroes
No. It's the textbook garbage box set that gets praised because all the superficial box set elements are there. It's a marvel movie with edge and pretentious commentary.
>>
>>220650291
edginess can be enjoyable to a certain extent if it has a good story around it
>>
>>220648194
Does the redhead show her tits any? Only thing I care about, I'll skip the show but those parts.
>>
>>220650313
Agreed, hell it does make fun of wokeism and forced virtue signaling and diversity.

When I heard that Eric Kripke said “ oh Homelander supposed to be an analogy of Trump and the state of America”. I saw it in some sense but but a conflict of others. Turns out Eric Kripke doesn’t write or direct a lot of the episodes.
>>
>>220648194
The first season is very fun and then it very quickly devolves into degenerate edgy retarded le-bad-guy-is-trump bullshit
And I'm not a Trump voter and I don't usually lay claims of degeneracy when evaluating media, but it's wild how much senseless sexual degeneracy is jammed in to this show, and it's clear Trump lives rent free in the heads of the show writers
>>
>>220651681
Which redhead? No tits either but there are some body shots
>>
>>220651858
I was talking about the one in the poster with the exposed thighs
>No tits either but there are some body shots
what a shame
>>
>>220648194
The show sucked dick (and ate shit). The comic is better while also being shit as well.
>>
>>220651812
Eric Kripke? Oh absolutely. But I don’t think his writing carries the show. You can tell in some of the episodes that some of that some writers are hate brainstorming, political pushing, Hollywood culture crap… some of them.
>>
>>220648194
Not particularly, and it’s honestly not even a good representation of Superman bad

from s2 onwards the shows needed to be localized for anyone who isn't american, meaning unless you are, for most of it you'll be thinking
>oh, I guess they're parodying something
>>
>>220651956
Hey there, slow down. The first handful of were kino. But otherwise yes they took such an interesting concept and said “NVM TRUMP IS A NAZI AMIRITE GUISE”
>>
>>220652155
*of episodes
Anyone who refutes this wasn’t around or paying any attention when the first season came out.
>>
Non-meme answer is that season 1 had a good premise of them fighting against corrupt supes in clever ways.
Then it just became flanderized.
>>
>>220648194
First season was kino. Seasons 3-5 is Orange Man Bad, the tv show
>>
>>220648225
>>220648215
This but unironically. It's possibly the most degenerate show I've ever seen. Stopped watching during season 3 because it feels like it was written by a 14 year old boy who spends way too much time on obscure porn websites.
>>
A big problem in the final couple seasons is that it doesn't really explore what the masses of Homelander's devoted fans and followers are like.
The end of s3 has the
>I could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and not lose any voters
moment
But then it never seems to question any of those people and ask them to explain why they're staying in the pro-Homelander cult, or anything to that effect. It doesn't show the utility of the masses of supporters existing. It would prefer to show how some of those who work for the fascist regime are doing so out of fear, not true devotion.
It's like it's fine to attack Trump, but attacking the average MAGA voter would go too far and we have to avoid it
>>
>>220648729
>Yes it's fun and has hot wamens
utter lies
>>
>>220648194
The 1st and to some extent the 2nd season have a lot of social commentary on corpos, consumerism and the toxic worship of celebrities.
Cristicism on drugs and doping, racism... yadda yadda.
Shock value and over the top humor carry the rest of the show though. Absolute garbage characters outside of Homelander, Soldier Boy and A-Train
>>
>>220652280
Yeah, I still liked the show even the later parts. But I can’t deny they rely A LOT on shock value.
>>
>>220648194

>Asshole asshole dicks titty slap swinging cocks lick my asshole, that jizzmeister cockgobbler really fucked me up the chocolate starfish, and by that I mean my asshole

That's the entire dialogue of the show, just saved you 40 hours
>>
>>220652413
Only for the female characters
>>
>>220652190
>>220652155
I liked the boys comic when I was 15, I don’t care for it much now that I’m in my 30s but I disliked the end of the first season enough to tell from then that this was never going to end well. The only real value the show ever had was butchers story arc, and discarding that for literally my wife’s son never sat well with me.
>>
>>220652295
Well even then the show tries to play that both sides are manipulated. Like the MAGA bf being killed just make the starlighters look bad. I agree though the cult mentality should of explored more, especially as the sups became more delusional and feeling like they’re better than everyone else
>>
>>220652104
i dont watch this show but did the ending have any actual point other than a shallow trump parody? it looked like it was trying to be something of actual substance but then got mindbroken by le orange man some point in the process.
>>
>>220652686
My impression was it was making fun of corrupt Hollywood culture, idolizing celebrities, and how self deluded people can get when they have unchecked power.
>>
>>220652686
The Trump parody was them running out of ideas
Realistically the show should've ended in S3
>>
>>220652686
trump deserves ridicule
>>
Never gonna watch the show, what's the deal the with pregnant chick at the end?
She gets knocked up by a non-superhero then returns to her home planet?
>>
>>220652686
The whole show is a discussion of power: how it relates to gender, race, religion, and politics, and the narcissism that orchestrates this. The show tries to demonstrate how "power corrupts" doesn't mean that power turns you into a super cool badass who needs to be restrained by morality, but that it's much more personal, needy, and desperate. The whole show, everyone has known that Homelander would be nothing without his powers, and the finale shows that: everyone close to him is working against him, nobody likes or believes in him without fear forcing them, and he's absolutely terrified when confronted with consequences.

The Trump parallels are kind of obvious, but I really don't think they're the point at all. "Spoiled narcissist with inherited power tries to make everyone love them" isn't a new story, and the US presidency is a convenient stand-in for taking over the world.
>>
>>220653017
Trump is so overtly ridiculous that it becomes very difficult to do good satire of him. And The Boys certainly ain't it
>>
>>220653076
She has been in the relationship with one of the main characters and they had to go for an abortion once.
I think the idea is that since he saw the average Joe of the group, it’s a happy ending for him because he gets a simple life starting a family.
