40k has been dead lore wise since 3rd ed. Over 90% of the lore should have remained a mystery to facilitate players making stories on the table top. Cavill isn't guarding shit since his favourite faction is Custodes who should still just be guarding the Emperor's throne room.

>>220744595I'm gonna be kind of an asshole and point out that as much as I want to avoid traditional studio carelessness when it comes to adapting source material, it's also possible to be too accurate to the point of damaging an adaptation specifically because you have to spend too much time establishing it all for the lore to feel 'respected'. Many adaptations are better for what has been omitted because of how pacing works in film.I know we all want a happy medium and he was frustrated with writers pushing to omit or handwave too much but he's also handcuffing himself to the most severe parts of the fan base who will come for him the second two characters are combined or someone doesn't include a reference to some event 1000 years ago. If he makes them upset, it is license for every other nerd to question his credibility and therefore lose all respect despite being someone who tried very hard to make a faithful product that is also enjoyable. I predict he ends up on the nerd cross by 2031.
