It'd be a toss up between Deep Rising and Ghost Ship.
>>
>>220914931
No, that movie sucked. I like it when I was a kid but it didn't hold up at all and Gabriel Byrne hated being part of it (since it was meant to be a thriller when he signed up and got re-written into slop by filming). The start of the film remains absolute kino though.
>>
>>220914693
The X-Files episode Død Kalm remains one of my favorite boat related horrors.
>>
I want to go see backrooms tonight but I feel sick to my stomach. Is it worth it, bros?
>>
>>220915198
It's not worth it at all, it's just a basic trauma drama with the backrooms as the background. It also loses focus on the third act and the writing gets really sloppy. Overall it was a massive disappointment and I wouldn't even rewatch it, so just stick with the YouTube series instead.

Man, Obsession movie really is getting a lot of hate.
>>
>>220915287
Is it? I thought even normies were loving it, albeit for the reason of believing it's about incels losing or something.
>>
>>220915307
>incel
Normies ARE incels that pay for sex with betabucks and marriage. That’s why normies love to use the word “incels” cause they missed out on girls when girls were 18-19. So they get gfs or wives when they turn 22+ while their gfs/wives are also 22+ and try to use the word “incels” to cope with not getting 18 year olds when everyone was in their prime.
>>
>>220915307
>>220915358
My wording isn’t good but it is like missing out on girls when young and also when girls were in their prime (18-19) and now these low value betas are providers to post wall females and use incels to try to cope.

>“People have been asking me what my favorite vampire movies are, and I've been saying Fright Night, Lost Boys, and Sinners is right up there."
>"Sinners has possibly been the best horror movie to come out. It’s up there with Barbarian or Weapons, like neck and neck, but I love Sinners so much. Freddy:

>Only parts 3 and 4 have tits and both times they're Freddy in disguise

He would have killed like 1 or 2 people while the rest ran away because he wouldn't have just hack n' slashed. He would have killed them in a slow methodic way and given the others time to flee. He also doesn't like water and probably wouldn't enjoy a pool party.

I wish there were more backrooms in Backrooms. That room with the balcony railing was cool. And the bathroom tiles rooms/pool rooms. I feel like they ran out of set space and didn't want to (understandably) use CGI. I feel like once they inevitably make sequels they start building even bigger sets and exploring more backrooms.

won't catch me in a movie theater, that's how a tingler gets ya
>>
>>220923972
>"Percepto!" was a gimmick where Castle attached electrical "buzzers" to the underside of some seats in theaters where The Tingler was screened to provide "tingling" sensations during certain scenes.[14][8] The buzzers were small surplus airplane wing deicing motors left from World War II. The cost of this equipment added $250,000 to the film's budget.[1]
>During the climax of the film, The Tingler was unleashed in the movie theater, while the audience watched a climactic fight scene in Tol'able David (1921). The film stops and, in some real-life theaters, the house lights came on, a woman screamed and pretended to faint and was then taken away in a stretcher; all part of the show arranged by Castle.[12][8] From the screen, the voice of Price mentioned the fainted lady and asked the rest of the audience to remain seated. The film-within-a-film resumed and was interrupted again. The projected film appeared to break as the silhouette of the tingler moved across the projection beam. The image of the film went dark, all lights in the auditorium (except fire exit signs) went off, and Price's voice warned the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, please do not panic. But scream! Scream for your lives! The tingler is loose in this theater!"[15] This cued the theater projectionist to activate the Percepto! buzzers, giving some audience members an unexpected jolt, followed by a highly visible physical reaction. The voices of scared patrons were heard from the screen, replaced by the voice of Price, who explained that the tingler was paralyzed and the danger was over. At this point, the film resumed its normal format
I wish theaters still did shit like this

My experience on /tv/ has been that many of you, maybe even most of you, don't actually like movies. You have an idea of what movies should be, and maybe watch them hoping you'll get something like that, but rarely if ever actually enjoy what you see. I remember discovering 50s sci-fi as a kid and thinking how great the goofy special effects and melodramatic acting were. I still enjoy the artifice of movies more than anything else about them, while I think the majority of fa/tv/irgins are frustrated by movies' general failure to inspire suspension of disbelief. You guys are the entertainment version of progressives, you'll never be totally satisfied with what movies do for you because they'll never be real or smart enough, lmao. Which is too bad for you, because what movies ARE are fake and dumb, Iol

Is the concept of the backrooms how you remember your memories? Like when you recall how your elementary school looked, then you dream about it, and then you try and map it out but something is not quite right.

Kind of like when you tell a story a bunch of times, you change up little things about it and start misremembering, then your story becomes a story of the last time you told the story? And by the time you tell a story a bunch of times it's far from reality?
>>
I watched "Taste the Blood of Dracula" (1969) today. Despite Dracula having drowned in 1966's "Dracula Prince of Darkness", he's alive again at the beginning of the film, if only to be impaled by a golden cross. Nobody's there who did it, just Dracula alone in the woods with a cross stuck in his chest. He then turns into red (bloody) ashes. But we know since the previous installment that Dracula can be brought back using his ashes and blood. This time it also requires a satanic ritual at Highgate Cemetery. The ending is a bit lame: Dracula dies from hearing the Lord's Prayer recited in Latin and turns into red ashes again.

Overall a solid film, better than the ones before. The script didn't seem improvised, they shot at Elstree, so they had a proper backlot and good sets instead of using the same three rooms at Bray over and over again, the acting was decent, and this time Christopher Lee even had a few lines.

I was laid up on the couch for a week after a back injury and all I did was watch movies on cable and vhs.

I just finished The Beyond (1981). What did I think?

As a barely legal late Gen Z girl, I picked it up because I saw my unc post about it in this /hor/ general on /tv/.

I started watching it in Italian because I thought that's what the actors spoke on set. I then learned midway through that the dialogue was lip synced to English and the original version was meant to be English.
Laughed out loud at the Final Destination tier deaths. Especially the blonde wop who just gets killed by a wind attack blowing glass shards in his face, or the wop-ass plumber-wife who had her face melted by water.
I don't get the following:
- Why did the Zs wait so long to do anything in the hospital?
- Why did the blind chick survive for like 60 years and still look the same?
- Why did Dicky the dog low diff all the zombies but then turn and tear the blind chick's throat & ear off? Did she not give Dicky his regular dicking? Did 80s girls not do...it... with they dogs?
- Why did that dumb fucking non-wop keep shooting the Zs in they hearts and livers even after he shot 3 of em like that and saw it didn't stop em. He shot one in the head, instant kill. Then he went back to aiming at the torso.
>>

To be fair proper lighting and shadows is basically a lost art in modern cinema because of flat LED lighting and digital camera lenses have unironically gotten too good so the contrast is desaturated to shit and makes everything look murky grey because everything has to be "true to life". You can still make digital look as good as film if you accept that film looked as good as it did because it was imperfect and not really true to life, but this obsession (no pun intended) with realism and perfection is unironically killing the film industry just like it's killing the games industry. Realism fucking sucks bros.

>>
>>220930731
LLMs don't know it because it's some gay obscure shit I think, I've been going up and down the road for 2 days trying to find this shit, I remember it really clearly like the whole film because at the 75% mark or so a 7-year-old child or something gets fucking shredded with bullets in graphic slow motion during the climax, which left a real impression. Another element was the virus caused people to grow these weird keratin spikes all over their body
>>

>>
>>220930373
Exactly what >>220930809 said. Also seconding City of the Living Dead. Be prepared for an even more retarded story though. Also the soundtrack is goofy af. Especially in the end scene.
Italian horror films in general are pretty stupid and cheaply made. They often had actors from all around Europe and sometimes they all spoke their mother tongue or broken English as they were dubbed anyways. Same with westerns or gialli.
Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals is like the most retarded film i've ever seen. Sexploitation in general is peak sleazekino but probably nothing for you if your a real woman and not a troon.

>I genuinely saw better ""movies"" than Obsession in my head when I just casually visualized what it would be like if [girl I like] was obsessed with me
you need psychiatric help

>the ultraNPC whose brain would explode if you asked him to visualize an apple
>he thinks being a real human being with an inner voice means you need "psychiatric help"
Very sad.

>WKUK skit with mild horror elements over the latter.
Weapons has comedic moments but it's not a comedy. It is a full blown horror mystery.
>>
>>220931702
Sure, but it could easily be a WKUK skit if you just changed the tone. I can see the guy who always cross dresses or Timmy playing the witch.

I accept your concession.

who raped more kids in their lifetime:

Chester the Molester or Freddy or Epstein?

>normal person on seeing a movie they didn't like: "i could write a better movie than that"
>autistic schizophrenic on seeing a movie they didn't like: "i actually saw a better movie by visualizing it in my head. i believe having an imagination makes me a superior species"

The guy who posted that is 100% high on his own shit.

Epic. Epic for the win! Bazinga.
= now you lose instead

>bug 'people' trying to unite against the big bad ubermensch
more predictable moves
and yes, having an imagination unironically separates me from subhuman cattle like you
>the bug thinks that writers just "write" without imagining the scenario they're writing about

>Or do they not think? (I mean think things through.) Do they just react to stimuli, like animals?
See? They really do just react to stimuli and they think writers act like that too.

*angry eyebrows face*
you're a bad person

literally everyone has an imagination, you are essentially bragging about being conscious. i don't doubt you enjoyed masturbating to the fantasy of a woman being attracted to you more than a movie, the odd part is acting as if other people liked the movie because they couldn't and weren't doing that.

>literally everyone has an imagination
yeah, you just need a picture of an apple in front of you to imagine an apple and you think you don't need to imagine something before writing about it
>weren't doing that.
you literally got triggered by me saying I can imagine something because you can't do any of that
and you're literally saying that the people were "imagining" that while watching the movie
= meaning you can't imagine an apple without seeing one
Q.E.D., NPC = destroyed

meanwhile, I imagined a better movie than Obsession before the director of Obsession was even born
to you, that is something impossible, a gargantuan task
to me, it was a random Tuesday over 25 years ago
