Establish more questions than answers, and give people a reason to come back for the next 2 movies. And KKKennedy decreed that her starwars team would just be a AAA tier main character dark haired, light skinned, british girl boss(because that is her own personal fetish), and then every other character exists solely as furniture for her or tools to progress the plot. If you flatten every single main character of NuWars into a single sentence discription, so that they are all portrayed equally, you would just say "hey, these all seem like cool characters, I want to see more" But then you realize that this main team is just 5 chapters of mary sue Ret. And then Fin is just allowed to exist in 2 of her chapters, and then poe gets 2 full sentences on his own, and never really interacts with the main heroine of the movie, and also you don't have nearly enough character work to fill out an entire film
