I watched John Carpenter's Vampires last night, one of the few Carpenter movies I had never seen. It wasn't really good, but it wasn't bad, either. It was fine. Some nice gore and kind of a fun idea for killing vampires (impaling them and using a winch to drag them out into the sunlight). Laura Palmer gets naked. James Woods' character has mega heavy duty plot armor. Ending fell flat and felt rushed, like Carpenter suddenly realized "shit, I gotta wrap this thing up". All in all not as bad as I had heard.

IIRC even the novelization describes Michael popping a boner from spying on the girls as they're changing clothes or having sex.

Apparently Ma is a movie people remember? Regina Hall's whole character is based on her, but then they make a joke about how no one remembers It Follows.
