"Blood From The Mummy's Tomb" (1971) is a decent Hammer horror movie. Peter Cushing was replaced by Andrew Keir for the role of Professor Fuchs as he had to take care of his ill wife. While watching I thought the story was very familiar, and it's because I had seen a very campy 1980 adaptation last year with Charlton Heston that felt like a TV movie of the week. There's also an even worse one where Louis Gossett jr. plays the villain (and he's top billed for playing the bit part)."Jewel of the Seven Stars" is probably not one of Bram Stoker's best stories. I guess it was written to cash in on the Egypt craze that swept Europe and America at the time. But this is a solid adaptation and it's clearly the best of the three I know. 5/10.

It dawned on me that while I know all of the most iconic 70s/80s slasher villains, I have never watched any of the movies. Where should I start?
>>220973481OK, thanks. I might already have seen those a long time ago. I definitely remember Captain Kronos - it had Caroline Munro in it, and Captain Kronos was played by Horst Janson who starred in some German movies and later was host of the German Sesame Street.

>>220979712I wonder if she discussed this with Curry Baka or just went ahead and posted it? Idk, you'd think Baka-san would be receptive to giving a bit of a bonus to his crew, especially since it was a smaller production. >>220979581probably not "best" but worth mentioning
>>220979710uhh you better get the fan edit. the producers literally went in the cutting room and butchered it by hand to make it more conventional good guy/bad guy
Was the Backrooms supposed to be a fucking horror comedy or something? They really decided that an 8 foot tall black Sloth from the Goonies in a pirate costume needed to be the main villain? I started cracking up laughing in the theater. Why didn’t they just go the found footage route instead of making it goofy?
It wasn't THAT bad tbqh. Not as good as 1 or 2 but certainly not the worst in the franchise.
>>220979980>Why didn’t they just go the found footage route insteadI agree. I found the found footage stuff to be the best parts and the only parts that seemed to get a reaction out of the theatre. The other stuff, while well shot, wasn't particularly scary or unnerving.
>>220980086The movie completely falls apart when the therapist goes into the backrooms. Really her whole character arc feels unfinished. I guess her hitting the retarded monster with the hand imprint rock was supposed to symbolize her letting go of the past or some shit idk. The lead black actor was good but not good as a villain during the dinner scene. He just did not come off as intimidating.[\spoiler]
>>220980170Yeah I agree that it falls apart at that point. Making him suddenly crazy, too many closeups of the big pirate monster, and then the exposition dump at the end soured me on the movie which I felt was fine up until then. Would have liked more time with the main guy and the two college kids with the camera exploring and things get progressively worse.

>>220981846Perfect copefarm material. That attitude.
Just put on Iron Lung
>>220981842>>220981940Nightbreed was supposed to be made into a trilogy but the studio stopped him in the middle of the first movie because they expected Clive to be making another movie like Hellraiser, and they cut it to be more of a straightforward slasher film. It bombed and then that was the end of it.
>>220982108Pretty good so far but we didn’t need a female captain
>>220982110Ah that makes sense. Probably would have done better at the box office if it was a straight slasher really.
>>220981394You can have a good diet and hygiene and still get acne. Some people are acne-prone or otherwise have shitty genetics, plus chronic stress screws up your skin. And no I'm not copiuming... much. Anyone know a horror movie about someone with bad skin?
>>220982546Nightmare on Elm Street
>>220982303And if you were wondering why the berserkers at the end had big, swinging cocks and balls, it was because Clive Barker, noted homosexual, locked himself in his trailer and refused to come out until the studio agreed to give him all the penises he wanted. Several more hours of monster cock scenes went unused, the leftover footage allegedly ending up in Clive's private collection.
>>220982592>Several more hours of monster cock scenes went unused
So while the movies can't really figure out what to do we are getting a Saw prequel...set after WWI...about a guy who would inspire Jigsaw, including the puppet, spiral etc. wtf kek why can't Jigsaw just be a guy? Why this elaborate backstory now?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-IAU4KErMU
