>"Doctor Paris"
>Linnis Paris treats a critically ill temporal refugee whose physiology is destabilizing. She teams up with Future Harry Kim and Time Agent Seven in a desperate astrometrics/medical effort. Personal stakes rise when Loser Tom Paris (her alternate father VOY: Non-Sequitur) confronts the daughter he never had. Admiral Janeway must decide whether to risk a minor timeline incursion to obtain medicine to save Neverwere's newest crewmember.

>"O'Brien's Paradox"
>Chief Engineer Miles O’Brien discovers a faint signal from another erased timeline containing a version of his wife Keiko and their children who were never born in the prime timeline. The crew debates a high-risk extraction mission that could overload the ship’s temporal stabilizers. While Miles works frantically with Future Harry Kim to stabilize the rescue, Loser Tom Paris confronts his own regrets about family. Old Odo (DS9 Time's Children) suspects the signal might be a trap from a rival temporal faction. Climax: Miles must choose between saving “his” family and risking the erasure of the entire Neverwere crew

>"Seven Worfs"
>A quantum storm pulls the ship into a collapsing parallel reality, forcing the multiple Worf variants to work together (and against each other) to stabilize it. K'mtar/Alexander sees different versions of his father and grapples with resentment. Security Chief Old Odo mediates while 'Hobo Riker' pushes for aggressive action. In the end, one Worf variant sacrifices himself to save the ship, reinforcing the crew's fragile "one timeline" bond

I went into this expecting to hate it due to the sludgy reputation it has, but not only did I not hate it at all (just found it inoffensive at best), but it actually had me emit no audible groan throughout the duration of the movie, something which happened once too many times with First Contact.

You know, for how much screentime Lwaxana has with Odo, I don't think it's ever clarified whether or not she can read his mind. Logically she shouldn't be able to because he lacks a humanoid brain, and it explains her fascination with him, but it feels like they wanted to have their cake and eat it, too: imply it but never 100% clarify it in order leave open the possibility for Odo to be telepathically read in a future episode.

Odo does have a mind and emotions tho. All speculative obviously but I'd argue that Lwaxana must be able to read him enough to understand he's real, as we see with her daughter and other Betazoids that those they can't read tend to confuse them. To Betazoids, extreme Empathy is another base sense. So Odo is probably readable but very different than most on that radar.
And Lwaxana has a thing for emotionally stunted older men married to their job.

It depends on the universe. With full gravity control like on TNG, standard rectangular containers are the best solution. If you need to attach them to the hull because it's more stable and you haven't mastered anti-gravity yet, then triangular is the superior storage form.

I can't believe this is what it takes for Harry to get promoted.

Harry after Voyager would be the perfect first officer for Sevens Enterprise

iirc Katra is Soul, Pagh is Aura

no because only vulcans have a katra whereas everyone has pagh

I wonder if anyone ever counted the extras (like they counted torpedos and shuttles) to see, if they exceeded the number of the crew.

Truly strong episode, much better than Emanations and up there with Death Wish.
Man, Voyager talked a lot about death.

God I wish we had modern social media during Berman Trek. So many episodes would have had GoT level impact on Twitter. Yes, I just watched the first two episodes of DS9 S3.
>>
It's something how even though Voyager was bound to a network (UPN), they were still allowed the same budget as its syndicated partner DS9. It never had that cheap 90s/00s network look. Enterprise was the same... until the severe budget cuts took hold in S4. But it was mostly the new digital cameras that gave it that fake, stagey look. It still mogged its contemporaries like Firefly, Sarah Connor, Smallville, etc.

Some episodes of DS9/VOY look better than horribly lit streaming shows. Yesterday's Enterprise still mogs most Disney Star Wars.

>>

In Bongland, the Doctor Who revival began just as Enterprise was limping to the finish line and Star Trek was barely in the public consciousness. I could not believe the normies crowing about how Doctor Who had such greater production values when it looked almost as ass for its time as the old show did and Trek on its last legs still mogged it.
I'd say Stargate held its own against Trek, and Farscape obviously did for makeup and practical effects
>>221129328
I think it also helps lower the streaming bitrate, and they may be mastering for HDR so it's too dark in SSR

>god I wish we had fentanyl during the Italian Renaissance

>>221123259
I love this ship. It's not that small either and there is actually a lift going through those narrow nacelles.
>>
>>221130938
Early on NuWho was being way too ambitious for 2004/5 BBC budget, all of those CGI monsters aged like shit (not that they didn't look like shit already)

Are the Q just a force of nature designed to cause havoc in order to kickstart evolution at certain locations like some trees need a wildfire to spread their seeds? They are NOT omnipotent. They cannot destroy the galaxy with a fingersnap, they lack morality and behave in unpredictable ways. They are like the germ that keeps the immune system on edge.
>>
>>221132028
what makes you think they cant destroy the galaxy with a fingersnap?
>>
>>221132039
Some Q would have done it by now if it had the power.
>>
>>221132066
The Q are watchers who sit in the continuum and observe the now, the past and the future passing by. We know they do stuff like making stars go supernova for fun, so galaxies are one the menu too I assume but only if it furthers the plot. Q are the loud harlequins, El-Aurians/Lanthanites are wise listeners, Tholians are conservative Lore-Keepers who retcon what they don't like and so on, they're all Metaphors
>>
>>221132173
I don't know or care what they stand for, I think we should take them out first.

i'm so angry rn (at someone irl) but i should let go of my anger and forgive them. i wish i was a vulcan.
>>
>>221132066
why? they clearly have a system set in place to police themselves as we have seen. you're also acting as if the trek galaxy isn't one of infinite galaxies in infinite realties a Q can inhabit and control.
>>
when does ds9 get good? the first season sucks ~10 episodes in
>>
>>221132610
it just isn't for you. try TNG instead.
>>
>>221132610
First Seasons are always tough. End of Season 2 is where I'd say but it really depends on which heroes and antagonists you've liked so far
>>
>>221132595
Can Qs leave our galaxy or are they also bound by the same weird barrier that will always be stain on Star Trek lore? The only known species to freely traverse the barrier are the travellers afaik
>>
>>221132703
they can bend reality to their whims in infinite dimensions so probably

Borg talk about biological uniqueness, but they never seem to use it to their advantage, only the technological part.
They never use drones with psychic powers.
>>
>>221132703
Traveler drive bypassed the barrier issue by travelling by thought.
TOS Enterprise and Discovery did cross on screen, CGN Carolique did extragalactic space exploration in TNG off screen and more.
The Barrier is far less of an issue than you make it seem
>>
>>221132813
Kinda makes you wonder what happens to Betazoid people who get assimilated. It's a super power to us but relatively useless to the Borg.
>>
>>221132826
>CGN Carolique
I completely forgot about her. I vague memory of the TOS episode but didn't they have those black blobs on STD that were surrounding the galaxy?

Season three onward TNG looked better than early NuWho. Those Eccleston and Smith seasons have aged so terribly in the visuals. It's probably another reason Doctor Who is bleeding out right now. TOS is so ancient that it wraps around to being charming-shitty. NuWhu before Matt Smith is just an awful eyesore.
