Oh yeah, that happened.
Was this any good? I've tried reading the novel, but I can't really read fiction anymore.
>>221193633no
>>221193762I think I dropped it before the first episode had finished.
>>221193633Was that the one with Charles Dance as the big demon?
>>221193898Dont know, too busy gooning to his final ali g in da house scene.
>>221193633When the hell did this come out?
>>221193762it's kinda slow and follows the story a little too closely. its really dry, considering the story is about a cosmic horror sci fi work. overall it's an accurate yet uninspired work
>>221193633Hey I saw that. It's that series about what would happen if the age of consent were ended (the show posits that aliens would finally contact us if we allowed child sex throughout the planet).
>>221193985Go take a cold shower, pedo.
>>221193933Like ten years ago, have you been under a rock?
>>221193633The story is extremely relevant considering the alien narrative is now being pushed so hard by the establishment (Disclosure Day)
>>221193633That 2 year period when Mike Vogel was in every show for some reason.
>>221193762The novel is pretty mid too
>>221193762I think it is pretty good.I have watched it twice and would watch it again.\Though i do wish it would have been a bit more explanatory about the children and changed the last human. It leaves it up to the viewers interpretation of what the children become and I think they really could have tried to make it visual and the characters explain more.I think it also breezes over some plot points from the book about the children.iirc at the end they become too powerful and start fucking up the gravitation of the planets and that is why the ayys intervene in their evolution or something like that and its not mentioned in the series.
>>221195785>It leaves it up to the viewers interpretation of what the children becomeBasically just join the galactic hivemind. It's actually pretty bleak, as the galactic hivemind has nothing better to do other than wait for other civilizations to become psychic and join it.
>>221193633Never heard of it. Qrd?
>>221193985 >>221195785that was a crazy plot point but what did i expect with the name of the show? for the aliens to have been abducting the youngest humans to make them into passionate sexual machines was wild but at least that was one thing about the children i was glad they didnt show
>>221195811That is what i mean its rather vague. You see the negro stowaway see the light, which is the hive mind, then you see the kids on a mountain like peninsula connected to each other and you see the earth explode. its doesnt really explain anything to the viewer.i am not a retard like I need explanation for esoteric things but creating a story that is primarily visual medium, they could have easily, and should have told the events more in depth visually. Like the childrens minds melding into a unified consciousness and traversing the ether to meld with the "god" that is the fucking whole point of CGI, to put into visual medium imaginary concepts.Again vague but the visual storytelling of the entire esoteric stuff of the story was pretty much ignored and the "god" was just like a parody of the light of alfiem in norse mythology.I like the series, I like the concepts, I just felt it was a little less explained than it could have been and intentionally left vague to let the viewer fill in the gaps with their imagination, something novels can do, rather than directly showing concepts visually, something movies/tv can do.>>221195820>QrdAyys come to earth, down all flights, telepathically communicate with everyone and say that is it, we are here to sort your shit out. They create peace on earth, a utopia though later on they have done it for a reason.its not alien invasion shit like V (tv series)A bulk of the story is also told from a kind of middle mans perspective. they choose this 1 guy to relay information to the world.I think its a good story, well worth a watch.its a miniseries, not extremely ling and not bogged down with loads of character development or side characters, though there are quite a few characters.
>>221195820some """aliens""" that look like devils say we come to help you but give us your children
>>221195915>>221196025Oo ty. Ill check it out.
hmm never heard of this. seems interesting. thanks anon.
>>221193762It's pretty based ngl. The reveal of the ayys had stayed with me. It btfo of any Stephen King series, and something about the aesthetic and vibe is both complementary of Arthur C Clarke but also shines a light on how much a creeper sicko fuck he was. Guessing the team who made this never did much else, but the effort and faithfulness alone is unlike much else in view of the budget and network restraints. It's what SyFy should have been making.
>>221195820>QRD"What if Heaven's Gate were right?"
>>221193985Disclosure Day is even more fucked. And Spielberg is getting a pass because tribe. The greys literally abduct, terrorize, eye gape and hypno two children so that they are like MKUltra sleepers as adults. Then they're abductors trigger them to help create a tikkun olam society by hijacking media to show historical videos of how "oppressed" the ayys were treated for decades by gentiles essentially. And it attempts to streamline its fucked message and intent using a generic 2 hour chase microwaved from a 90s action slop. The molesting abductor ayys use deer and cardinals to awaken their sleeper agents via the trauma based programming repressed after abduction. And for the finale Spielberg wheels out a elderly ayy who's been in exile lmao, basically a Holocaust survivor. >Christians can't handle the truth but they must to fulfill tikkun olam so they need to go see my sci-slop.
>>221195820>what if ayy lmao are demons who offer normies world peace in exchange for 10 children, did you say 10, we said 1 billion etc
>>221193762Why can't you read fiction anymore?
>>221193941ACC's work is fairly dry in the main.
>>221195811>the galactic hivemind has nothing better to do other than wait for other civilizations to become psychic and join it.Didn't know that. What you're describing corresponds so utterly to the Galactic Milieu series....Then again old Clarke was an unfaltering optimist.
>>221196625>Christians can't handle the truth>Christiansyeah, get to fuck
>>221193985Isn't that also what David Bowie sang about in Starman?
>>221197013It just doesn't interest me anymore. The last half dozen times I've tried to read a novel, I get partway through and just meh out. I think the last time I read a fictional work front to back that I can remember was 2015, LOTR, actually. I'm starting to get that way with /tv/, too; only really watch documentaries and the like; and I have to kind of force myself to watch a work of fiction. Maybe I'm getting old?
>>221193633>just sacrifice your kids to Space Epstein>we'll print you out more space jew bucksthis shit is so commercially evil
>>221198104Disclosure Day is the same fucken film>worship space ayys, goy!ever notice the demons never have a better philosophy? Like they have all this advanced shit, but their philosophy is stuck in the 20th century ideology... haha! so pathetic
>>221198141You forgot the ending scene where they wheel out an old ayy who looks right about to tell us all about their memories of when chocolate was first invented
The book is way overhyped because of Arthur Clarke's legacy. Has way too much 1950s bullshit so not really sure how you can make a good adaptation of it
>>221194409My MAGA boomer mom keeps raving about this book like its prophetic is it that shit? I am reading like 3 books rn and have so many more i need to read
>>221199099ugh...
>>221193633It's great. Probably seen it 5 or 6 times and listened to the BBC Radio audio dramatization as many times, as well as having read the book and listened to the audiobook too. Top tier occult scifi.
God you fucking niggers the word is ALIEN. SAY IT WITH ME ALIEN. A. L .I .E. N.You fucking faggots and the "ayylmao" shit is why women won't touch your dick. They hear y'all say that shit and think "what a fucking limp-dicked retard. Definitely not gonna fuck him. In fact i hope he dies"
