Woody perceive iPad
>>

The three new toys on the right are all voiced by nons and the ipad isn't, aren't they.
>>
>>221236824
Conan stole the show.

It's shit, but the good goy boomers and Gen Xim/Xers will continue consooming regardless. My shareholders are happy.

Yeah he did

Luddite movie
>>
Sure, whatever. 1 and 2 are genuinely good, 3 is a fine way to end it and I see no reason to watch 4 or 5
>>
>>221237125
chat, is this real?
>>
>>221236824
Most reviews say the movie is well made but completely unnecessary. So we're probably getting Toy Story 6 in another seven years.
>>
Very boring. All.The characters from 4 were mostly absent at least.

pixar sure is dead. why bother making anything new.
>>
>>221236824
Interesting how Jessie is now front and center while Woody and Buzz are background characters.

>movie with male leads gets popular
>studio introduces a female character
>female character becomes the new lead
Where have we seen this before?
>>
>>221236824
Literally every Toy Story sequel is dogshit
>>
>>221236824
The first movie was actually fun, funny and clever. They never recaptured that magic.
>>
4 was an insult to any self respecting human, so I'll avoid anything else they produce like the plague
>>
>>221236824
Who watches this shit?
>>
>>221236824
Surprisingly good. I had low expectations after 4, though. The message was generally good, the villain was actually a villain, and it didn't feel as sugar rush fast as 4 did - but it's definitely still modern cartoon fast. It'll never be as good as the first one, but I would actually watch this one again to see if it holds up.
I felt secondhand embarrassment for most of the parents that will bring their kids to this during the early scenes showing all the kids on screens, because my kid is a Bonnie.

>>221239432
True, but they've been building that dynamic up since 2. At least we got a semi-retirement of Woody in 4 so it's not exactly unearned. I did notice a lot of emasculating of Woody and Buzz, though. They did some of that in previous movies, like Jessie being more macho than Buzz at times, but I think that's also supposed to be why he's enamored with her.
Every real person being black was VERY noticeable, however. I'm assuming their math included all of the main toys and the dozens of Buzz figures being white and needing balancing, but I swear every single family shown was black. I couldn't help but see it.
>>
>>221236824
I haven't even watched 4 because it feels so unnecessary.

Kill yourself
>>
The series ended here. I refuse to watch another scene of it after this
>>
>>221239594
I wonder if they actually wanted to make 4. Was it just to bring in money? Or did enough of the old guard leave that the people there actually thought it was a good idea? It really did shit all over that ending.

>>221239588
No.
>>
>>221236824
Are they really just recycling the “omg a new toy/distraction is going to render the toys forgotten and obsolete” thing again?
>>
>>221239594
You Story ended with 2. All the others, including 3, just retread the same plot elements over and over again.
>>
>>221239588
This, you literally HAVE to stop noticing patterns.
>>
>>221239594
same.
I will never watch any of the subsequent others.
>>
>>221236824
Really bad. Weakest installment by far.
>>
>>221236824
>another female villain in the series that is redeemed instead of punished
nooooticing
>>
>>221239551
>villain was actually a villain
You didn’t even watch the movie
>>
>>221240184
I was directly contrasting it with 4's "villain", who they tried to make empathetic like 10 minutes after she's introduced. She's then rewarded for being terrible. Lily is a villain for 90% of the movie, sees she's made a terrible mistake, and course corrects for the kid's sake.
But no, she's obviously not the same kind of unredeemable villain Sid, Pete, or Lotso were. I just appreciated that it was better than 4, which is how most of my praise is couched.
>>
>>221236824
For what they were going for about kids and technology it was decent, but I agree it was a completely unnecessary sequel
>>
>>221239551
>Surprisingly good.

>>221240317
You're under no obligation to read my entire post, but the very next sentence holds a lot of context for that statement.
>>
I'm not consooming because I'm not a child
>in b4 watching with muh kids/nephews
I would never subject them to such child abuse

Nah, ended right here with the toys knowing they were going to move onto Molly.
Having them handed to a beaner who loses interest in Woody and then subsequently Jessie after getting interested in tech made everything worse, it was a complete story with 1+2.
>>
>>221240556
Bonnie actually loves the toys and it's why other kids make fun of her. She doesn't get interested in tech, her parents introduce it because they think it will help. Thinking you're helping but you're actually hurting someone is a bit of a theme in it. It's still absolutely an unneeded sequel and the series should have been retired over a decade ago.

>>221236824
Pixar movies are depressing now. The kid characters are all mopey and depressed and the "fun" characters are all having existential crises. This is the fourth time they're telling the same story about toys feeling useless, what was a couple minute segment from the first movie (I will go sailing no more) is now the ENTIRE movie. As far as this particular entry, Jessie is the main character, and it's hilarious to see the movie feel like it wakes up and starts working only during the one five minute segment that focuses on Woody and Buzz. And also the more of these they make the more the characters all sound the same, there's like five in this one with the same HR lady voice. This franchise is DEAD and so is Pixar, the only good movie they've done in 15 years has been Hoppers because they dropped the self-help moralizing and focused on jokes.
>>
>>221239628
They still
had a contract with Tom Hanks and he is a big name, so ofc they are gonna use him.
>>
How long until they remaster Toy Story 1
>>
>>221236824
They kinda did Woody dirty, didn’t they? He barely helps at all, it’s all the drone Buzzes and Jessie. And he has to ride the tiniest horse and gets nearly eaten by that pig. Pure comic relief which would be fine except without the balance of actually helping.
>>
>>221240945
You forget to mention the fat and bald jokes.
>>
>>221240945
This movie could have functioned as the Return™ part of Woody’s Hero Journey but instead they focused on Jessie and made the story a side quest for Woody, but he’s still the central character as far as the toys are concerned I’d say.
