When all speakers are in their perfect angles and distance from you, it sounds perfect. This means if the front speakers are about 1m infront of you. The rears should be 1.5 to 2m behind you. Not sure if most people have this much room too.

Just finished. Exemplary 50s sci-fi from standard-definer Roger Corman, starring Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef as best friend super scientists turned against each other (wow!) and the requisite barely seen and laughable monster. It's a bodysnatcher story, and the commie invasion parallel is so explicit that the aliens use one as their initial cover story, lol. The squat main half a star fruit looking alien sends out mini bat aliens that brainwash its targets and turns them into slaves. Its one of those movies where a guy guns down his neighbor in the street and Peter Graves calmly responds to him "I've known you for five years and just saw you kill a man in cold blood. What's the reason?" Crazy crazy crazy shit is happening and most of the characters' instinctive response is measures conversation. Even the villain's wife sees him assisting the conquest of humanity and takes the position "i just hope you'll wake up and see what you're doing is wrong" lol. If you're not into this genre this one won't win you over, but if you have a working knowledge this is clearly one of the biggies.

Just finished. Bollywood spooks. Some rich girl is attacked by the acolytes of a vampire witch after her uncle kills the crone. The good: it's wacky and campy out the ass, with paper mache caves and ridiculous acting; i could pull a good webm out of nearly every scene. The bad: these fucking bollywood are always an hour longer than the my need to be and this has completely unnecessary characters and subplot (and yes, musical numbers) there just to pad the time. There's a camp horror classic somewhere in here if they didn't feel like the movie HAD to have an intermission for the audience not to feel ripped off.

I watched "Dracula's Widow" 1988, and oh boy is it campy. It seems to have been a failed nepobaby project with one of the lesser Coppolas directing and another one acting. Speaking of which: The overacting is (involuntarily) hilarious. When the movie was finished, I was astonished that the credits rolled for quite some time, that they had money to pay all those people. Anyway, it's a chance to see soft porn star Sylvia Kristal in the titular role and Lenny von Dohlen (Twin Peaks) as the main victim. Wouldn't recommend it in earnest, but people who also enjoy Svengoolie will have fun with this.
