I watched Rape Me last night. Features lots of violence and unsimulated sex including plenty of BJs. Not horror, I'd call it a nihilist feminist claptrap thriller. Decent watch I guess. The director ended up hiring porn stars for the two leads because of the material. Interestingly in the original French it's titled "Fuck Me". Watched Hokum recently, solid 7/10 with some great moments and fun characters, but the spam of oogity-boogity jumpscares got old fast. Felt like it was just throwing loud noises and spooky faces at the camera half the time, which is a shame because there were some scenes that actually had a scary atmosphere, if this movie had some restraint it could've been great.

Lol I watched Hokum off of RLM's strong recommendation and was really baffled. Like you said its fine, but the way they talked about it made it seem like some hidden kino. Especially how much praise they gave the script. I guess there were some good setups and payoffs, but there was also a lot of retarded character moments that really stick out. I'm not usually the kind of guy that cares too much about that, but the main character giving up on breaking down the doors of the hotel room and deciding to go into the basement to find a way out (when he knows that the dead girl was locked in the basement and died because she couldn't find a way out) was so stupid that the movie lost me for a while.

There's a difference between "occult horror" and "demonslop".
Demonslop is when they don't want to do effects, so they have an invisible demon, or alternatively they can't find a way to make something scary, so they add a demon.
Like Longlegs works well when it was just a serial killer, but the second they make him a satanist the movie falls apart because now it is just the devil doing everything.
