Just finished. It may actually be too mean for an Evil Dead movie, lol. Not the gore, but the characters trying to make each other feel like shit. It's still fun as fuck, but it's a grim fun and it's kind of exhausting. The final "fight" is kind of lame but how impressed with itself it is in the moment knocked a half star off by itself. It looked dumb. Rest of the movie looked great. Also it doesn't bother me so much, but they officially girlbossed Evil Dead, and people who that does bother are going to hate this.

The prices of houses where murders have occurred can be reduced by as much as 50%.

Evil Dead 1 is great.
Evil Dead 2 was better.
But.
If you are introducing someone to Evil Dead insanity, the original is the best way to go.
Little bits of madness in the first, but the second was Ash surrendering to the insanity.
I've watched the trilogy drunk before, and sober many times.
Circumstances have now opened up new opportunities to view movies under the influence of different substances.
>Don't watch American Psycho while snorting coke and ritalin.
Don't.
As for being a druggie, nah. I'm testing. The worst drugs I ever took before I turned 45, retired from my job, and decided to just get a boring job was some percocet for a broken collarbone.
Now I'm just fucking around with mostly safe doses of mainstream stuff and rewatching movies in between working a few hours a week just for the exercise.
People at my new work look at me like I'm fucking crazy.
"Dude, you work like 2-3 days a week, maybe twenty hours. Why don't you work more?"
"I'm retired, this job provides me with about 30% of my income, and I took it because I like the exercise."
I'm not shitting you. I make a little over thirty an hour lifting and carrying boxes basically.
In the last six months of working there, I have lost twenty six pounds.
In another twenty pounds, I'll be at around 16% bodyfat.
I mean, it's slowed down now, but my goal is another twenty pounds by this time next year.
A weird thing, smoking weed, edibles, vaping thc, does not give me the munchies. It actually suppresses my appetite.
My dosages are moderated, mostly.
There are labels, and content warnings, descriptions, and restrictions on the packaging.
I'm just gonna say that my body has been fucked up broken from 20 years of military service. The vast majority of people who join don't even come close to retiring.
In all of these years, small to medium edible doses of CBD with a little thc has rewarded me with more relief from accumulated injuries over the years than any dose of pain killers.

I don't hate the movie even though the acting can be rough around the edges and some of the characters are annoying. There's some good gore, the setpiece with the mute Amish guy was fun, the blond Texan lady is hot and the main idea of there being a "noise of information" online holds up better now than it did before. But man its annoying how they tried to make it more of a documentary, with the main chick voicing over her lines in a monotone voice and usually when it came to voicing over what we just saw.
Are there any other good found footage zombie films besides REC? I liked One Cut of the Dead even though it doesn't really count and I heard Savageland was fine.

It's an interesting concept but then you encounter the Mr Exposition doing magical rituals and casting spells and it shits the bed.

Found footage is the cheapest and easiest of horror film to produce, in a genre that is already notoriously cheap and easy to make films for, and that's exploited by so many talentless hacks. It's so hard to find found footage that's even just 'okay' anymore.

what did you guys enjoy? Putting aside the amateurish acting and obvious budget issues (I actually don't mind that and the reverend was very decent), the plot was uninteresting to me. As soon as the worm-thief comes into the movie it becomes just another nosleep-tier story, robs the whole momentum and mystery of it.

I didn't think it was complete trash, just very forgettable. That other anon also noted it as one of the top FF releases on his list of of 2020s hits, so I was expecting more. I enjoyed the infinite staircase visual at the end but that's about all I'll be remembering of this in a year's time.

Anyways, the two next on my list are Shelby Oaks and Frogman. I'm looking forward to Frogman most of the two.

I'm kinda confused about the first two movies as well. The second movie seems to be some kind of re-imagined version of the first movie, but it's still called Evil Dead 2. It's been a while since I saw them.

I fully agree but at least in those cases it's likely because those countries have been ideologically captured and cannot do anything about scammers and pickpockets because to do so would be racist and that is the greatest sin imaginable.

I have tried to get through Ash vs Evil Dead twice now, and always gas out in season 2. I don’t even hate it or anything, I just hit a point where I’m like “Ok, I’ve had my fill,” and call it quits. Though it doesn’t help that the “asshole” (who has every reason in the world to be wary of Ash) sheriff’s “black because of course she is” daughter can’t act for shit, but is a main character for a three or four episode arc. Her only means of emoting are making her voice quivery and shrill, with absolutely no emotion in her face, and it is nightmarishly annoying. She had to have been related to someone high in production or something, there’s no way she auditioned her way in.

>is it any good?
What, Widows Bay? I don't know, I haven't seen it.

Right now I'm watching "Springfloden" (Spring Flood), another mini series, but it's about murder, not horror. At least not yet. A woman is buried up to her neck on a beach and watched drowning by three hooded figures. (Satanism may be involved!) 25 years later a young female police academy student is investigating the case.
>>
>>221690956
There's that story of a guy that went in a cave system and he saw figures heads peeking out to look at him. When it was investigated, it just was a deep cliff and nobody to be found. There's also the Keeny Veach story that became the base for HITHD. Although that's explained easily by it being a military entrance, so he was definitely killed. Of course there's the map overlap between missing persons and cave systems.

Basically, fuck going into cave systems.
>>
>>221691177
Spooky. I also recently listened to podcast that read off the Ted the Caver story. Really great voice acting, scared the piss out of me. Luckily this cave system is spacious and just one single long tunnel, no twists or turns. Still dark as shit and very spooky.

We know today that the pyramids weren't built by slaves, they were built by paid workers. There's accounts on how much they were fed and paid that were dug up by archaeologists. We also know that Egyptians weren't black or brown. They explicitly mentioned defeating black people during their military excursions into what is now Sudan. Sudan btw. is derived from the Arabic word aswad/suda' which means "black".

Speaking of Ancient Aliens - did you know there was an American knockoff writer called Zecheriah Sitchin who took von Däniken's idea to another level by claiming he, and he alone on the entire planet could translate ancient Sumerian cuneiform tablets correctly and there's proof that Sumerian gods did visit planet Earth in the distant past? They also made man in their image, there's different versions of man (V 1.0 - blacks, V 2.0 - asians, V 3.0 - whites). He also said we would find a 10th planet in our solar system accoding to the ancient tablets. That theory that was once debunked has recently been resurrected by some Caltec and Yale scientists who say gravitational anomalies point to a large unknown planetary object beyond Pluto/Charon.

Well, they've been trying to make it a thing for 7 seasons now. I've watched I think the second season and an episode from the 7th recently. They're absolutely fishing. I think they had some "unexplicably" dead cows early on and then only stuff like "weird readings" on magnetometers and such or "unexplicable equipment malfunction". They've got themselves a Ph D from Alabama whose idea of scientifically examining a perceived anomaly on the premises is to "shoot rockets in the sky" on that spot of the land "and see what happens". I'm not even kidding.

It's not creepy or spooky or anything like the name "Skinwalker Ranch" might make you expect. I guess the show is just aimed at the folk who need their weekly dose of the supernatural to feed their world view or something.

The movie was on par with Rise being absolute fucking dogshit that I refused to wait for possible Bruce's cameo

It gotta be a cheap show, the scientists and researchers don't get paid that much money compared to what an actor would, but then they got syndycated everywhere in clable channels during 2 decades, so they can get some good money from residuals around the globe, yeah
