I just dont understand the appeal of a superman that destroys cities and kills people when he fights. It's boring and makes him no different from an average anime character. But an all powerful boy scout as he was always classically depicted is actually a cool and interesting character to explore.

There exists an easy method for knowing if a Superman will be good or not, which has been lost/forgotten by modern audiences: Does Lois know Clarke is Superman? If yes, it's going to be bad or worse. If no, it's going to be worth watching at worst
