Interesting point. Haven't thought about it before. Technically, if she loves you "more than anyone in the world" then you could order her to kill herself to prove her love to you.

>>
>>221928527
You can also get her to kill people you don't like by simply spending time with them away from her. I see no downsides.
>>
I have a confession: I don't think the Ghostbusters franchise is as great as people make it out to be. The original is a good comedy, but I don't find it to be some great movie. There's plenty of other 80s comedies that are better. The rest of the franchise ranges from ok to shit.

What're your favorite zombie and zombie-like movies, /hor/?
I like The Night Eats The World, The Crazies, and Quarantine. Special mention Shaun of the Dead and Resident Evil: Apocalypse, one for the laffs and the other because it actually shows a city falling to zombies instead of just throwing us into it after everything's already done.
>>
>>221928453
>>221928527
she wouldn't do anything you say because her shit's all retarded. If you told her to kill herself she'd poop on the wall backwards and kill some random guy in the street because the only logic behind any of it is -just don't think about it-.
>>
>>221928728
Weird that excuse is never used when someone likes something. You'll never say "I had to be there" for liking Caddyshack, Clue, or any number of 80s horror movies. Your argument is flawed from the start and therefore invalid. Try again.

i think 28 days later and some parts of 28 weeks later are peak zombie kino. Train to busan is good of course. Not exactly zombies but the sadness is great, similar to the crazies but better imo, based off of crossed.

I do also have a soft spot for the snyder dawn of the dead.
>>
>>221928784
You don't have to tell her to kill herself, she'll eventually do it on her own. She was already hitting herself in the head and was going to shoot herself in the face. You just need to withhold attention and wait. There's also the fact the real Nikki would show up and freak out. She'd eventually show up and kill herself to escape.

You're talking about something that was culturally relevant in a particular time and place, being enough of a hit at one point to define a generation. It happened at the right time. You watched it at a different time.
You might as well be asking why Roy Rogers or the Lone Ranger are such a big deal.
>>
This is one of the funniest scenes of all time.
>>
>>221928937
Again, you'd NEVER use that argument if I said I loved Ghostbusters. Even weirder since I already said I think it's a good comedy, which means I like it. You're going on assuming I hated it for some reason. Unless you'd use the same argument for movies I love that came out before I was born, your entire argument is invalid.

Attending Fantasia next week. Will be seeing the following films.

https://fantasiafestival.com/en/film/tristes-tropiques
>Showcases a group of young assassins affiliated with the organization "Tristes Tropiques" who are trained in the rainforest and seek bloody revenge, distrusting each other.

https://fantasiafestival.com/en/film/the-last-footage

https://fantasiafestival.com/en/film/never-after-dark
>A traveling psychic who helps lost souls cross over encounters a powerful entity at a remote house. While investigating its origins, she uncovers dark secrets and faces a deadly threat from an unexpected source.

https://fantasiafestival.com/en/film/bowels-of-hell
>A mother battling trauma faces a surreal nightmare when toilets mysteriously transform into killer beings, forcing her to confront both her personal demons and these bizarre supernatural threats.
>>

That argument wouldn't apply the other way. I explained, historically, why it's a well remembered movie.
>>

>>
>>221929159
Either I "had to be there" or I didn't. You can't have it both ways. If I love it and didn't "had to be there" then your argument is invalid. Pick one, did I have to be there or not? Again, you're still acting like I hated the movie. You're either purposely omitting certain things or just read at a 1st grade level.

Got around to seeing Evil Dead Burn, easily the worst Evil Dead movie. I thought it would be about on par with Rise but this was way worse. It was sort of giving direct-to-video Hellraiser movie vibes in terms of quality.

I found it really weird that it tried to be an indirect sequel to Rise and also try to set up a direct sequel to it even tho the next one is an unrelated prequel movie. Was Rise even that well received or remembered? I thought the consensus was it was fine but then everyone sorta forgot about it.

Just finished. This is exactly what I was looking for all those late nights as a twelve year old surfing Skinemax: a college nerd accidentally summons a hot sex demon that wants to fuck everyone it sees and makes other people horny by being around them. The demon is a sexy hair metal milf and she does get her tits out, but the movie is so LAME. It kinda feels like if you asked a twelve year old to write a sex comedy, everything's just point A to B with no personality or laughs or sexiness. There's an awful band that does the same song in full twice, the second time to a montage of everytime the demon took her top off.

I don't like horror movies. There are few exceptions like Obsession but in truth, it's rare. I truly believe horror works better as a subgenre completing another genre. Alien is good because it's great scifi complimented by horror. Evil Dead is comedy with horror. You can go even further and do something where only one character or sequence is horror and everything else has none. I don't know if I'm crazy but I don't like pure horror as much.
>>
>>221928402
The implication in the movie is that Nikki was always like this. All the wish did was have her love him more than anything else. Presumably, this is genuinely how she expresses love, only her obsession switched from something private to a publicly known relationship with another person, which made it obvious that she was actually a freak. "Freaky Nikki"

Slop is being misused. Psycho gets a pass as it was a pretty daring and new thing for its time, but if now there's just a wave of the same thing and they're not deviating very far into new territory.
Psycho was definitive, these other movies are derivative.

Women honestly don’t experience much in their lives. Their circle of thought is very is small. That’s why all modern movies and shows have trauma and therapy themes. That’s why all female comedians don’t know how to talk about anything but sex. The female mindset is simple and honestly very rudimentary

Every time I got molested growing up, I'd put on a horror movie. Imagine today where you get molested and then you put on a movie and it's about how being molested will always be with you in the form of some monster. You change the channel and the next movie's about being molested so bad you turn into a monster yourself. You keep changing the channel and all you're really doing is getting molested again and again and again. And then the faggot that made it gets an award and millions of dollars and everyone slapping HIM on the ass and kissing him for being such a good little director.

Watched 3 movies, only 1 was horror:

>The Convenience Store
What a major letdown. It was boring and basically every Japanese ghost movie cliché & trope. As I assume others have pointed out, it's basically Ringu. Don't recommend and wouldn't watch again.

>LifeHack
This isn't horror, but it is a FF crime-thriller about 4 friends who steal bitcoin before going for a huge heist. It's cringy at times with the "hacking", name changes, and references. With a movie like this you bet your ass 4chan gets shown.
>Søylent Green
It's a dystopian classic and still holds up. If anything, it keeps getting closer to being true in some areas and is true is others.

This was hard to watch. Also more psychological drama than horror. "Den som dræber" ran as "Darkness - Those Who Kill" at the BBC -- who despite receiving all those TV licence fees didn't even have the money to dub those 8 episodes (45 minutes each).

Anyway, it was very well made, it was thrilling, but what those bastards did to those girls got to me.

Yes, we had a discussion about that earlier in this thread. I don't like it in movies. When you've got 90 minutes or 2 hours, you should film a straight, scary story without all the psychological ballast. When you shoot a miniseries like "Den som draeber" was, then your story is more drawn-out, you probably can't prevent having some drama in it to keep the viewer tuning into the following episode next week.

It sounds like what you two associate horror with is purely fight-or-flight type of scares that give you sweaty palms and dry mouth but horror has always been broadly about more than that. It's honestly a very simplistic way to look at a genre that you don't seem to understand as well as you think you do. Just think about how many different types of phobias there are but very few of them are actually dangerous to humans. Fight-or-flight is certainly the most potent way to scare you but pretending it's the only valid form of horror is more a matter of personal taste despite what you may tell yourself. You might as well just go bungie jumping or sky diving if adrenaline is all you care about.
>>221949431
Also FYI that TV show is not categorized as horror anywhere that matters so that's on you for bringing it up in the horror general.
