Well Doom 2005 was pretty dumb, but it still has that charm of the era of real movies with real special effects. Richard Brake was also the only one putting in much of a performance, as always, love him.I think the thing game adaptions miss is that videogames, especially early ones are bizarre and surreal. Like the first time you played Doom you're just splat the middle of nowhere fighting zombie looking freaks and fireball firing imps. It's a creepy, bright, dare I say it liminal zone with giant open windows and acid pits. Someone should do the surreal ambience of it justice.
