it was easily one of the best written horror movies i've seen in years.
such small details were interwoven so well within the movie, thinking back on all the shit i didn't even notice while watching it blows my mind.
sure it's not the best movie ever or anything but it was clearly made with intelligence behind it.

Why wouldn't it? Each film has a cast of half a dozen horny adults/teens, plus supporting townsfolk/locals, plus the rising escalation of the plot as it builds up to a climax. If you focused entirely on Jason's POV, then I could see it being difficult to novelize, but otherwise there's plenty to work with.

decided to pick up some mcnuggets and give lust a watch. it's about a recently resurrected vampire who starts to attend a boarding school for upper class girls, while there she feast on both staff and classmates alike. while yutte stensgaard has nice titties, i'll have to lean towards vampire lovers in that department.
enjoyable for what it is, it's probably the weakest hammer horror i've watched story wise, but still worth checking out though.

Just finished. This shows up on lots of horror lists, but it's 100% a thriller instead. It's Body Double meets Vertigo with an insane plot. A director accidentally murders a slutty actress, then manipulates her hick husband into being in a movie about solving the murder playing himself! That's just the setup, things get bizarre. There's very little violence, because there's really only the one murder. Zoe Lund from Ms. 45 plays the girl who gets murdered and she comes off smart and funny here. She also takes her top off a lot. In some other universe I could see this as a Harrison Ford 90s kinda vehicle like Regarding Henry but the plot is too whacked out.

Billed as a horror film, but I don't think it is. Just a drama film that's kind of unsettling due to taking place in a carnival. But if that's what others consider it, I guess this is the place to post about it.

The "incel gets friendzoned and goes insane as his crush fucks Chad" plot seems very common in silent films. It makes me think, a century later, we're just repeating the 1920s.

it looks worse than an early 2k tv movie
>>
>>222041604
I've seen a few Lon Chaney films, but personally, I like his son more. I do find it very interesting that Sr. died right as the silent era ended, and then Jr. took over and had a longstanding career in talkies. I think that even though Lon Chaney Sr. really owned the silent era, the sound era really allowed more personality to shine through in performances, and his son ended up being more memorable on account of it. Aside from being immortalized as the original Wolf Man, his roles in movies like Spider Baby, Alligator People, The Haunted Palace, and even non-horror like Only the Valiant or One Million B.C., makes him stand out more in my mind. I think his father would be very proud of him

>Behind The Sightings (2021)
This is about the clown sightings and it's all stupid. Pre-main couple you're lead to believe that nobody has a gun, even those in the woods of Oklahoma. The main couple makes sense since there's a Hillary 2016 sign on their refrigerator. The wife is a retard and if she listened to her husband, it wouldn't have ended how it did. I'd give it a 3.5-4/10. Don't recommend it.

>Breaths: Respiri Nel Buio (2011)
Italian FF movie about 3 people doing a report on an Orphanage that had something bad happen... you've heard this setup many times before. It takes 40 minutes to get to anything that isn't just backstory on the place. Combine that with camera issues that doesn't make any sense, and I'm done. I'd give it a 3.5/10. Don't recommend it.

>Survive The Hollow Shoals (2018)
Now this is pure retardation. The guy goes into the woods for a 30 day survivalist mission/training. There's nothing keeping him in the woods. He's not lost, he's not trapped there by mystical bullshit, he stays there on his own free will. Even after seeing a spooky woman, hearing ungodly screams, and something tearing trees in half, and finding 2 human skeletons, he still willingly stayed in the woods. Finally, it's 100% jumpscares and it's not scary one bit. This is a solid 3/10 and nobody should watch this shit.

tl;dr why the fuck did I type all this that nobody will read?

Finished House of C̶u̶m̶ Wax
Elisha carried the movie. The rest of the cast were pretty shit. The wax effects were really cool, the figures melting was some uncanny shit. MCR playing at the end was peak 00s cringe. At the end the Sheriff claims the town has only been abandoned ten years. Makes no fuckin sense how the brothers got away with all the kidnapping and killing

You ever wonder why as a society we decided it's perfectly okay to have a film where a 13 year old brutally murders people but if you were to have a film where a 13 year old has a bunch of [REDACTED] with people, everyone would lose their minds and the creator would be sent to jail for a billion years?

Also, watch Alice Sweet Alice if you want teen girl is a killer but it's actually kino.

Nobody was sent to jail. A DVD was released, but quickly went OOP. You can easily pirate the movie though. It's just that nobody wants to try and test any countries ruling on "artistic expression".
>>

>herself

>Nobody was sent to jail.
Likely because they didn't push the issue and most people never heard of it.
And also that was back in the 70s. They still had pizza magazines in Scandinavian countries back then. Attitudes were a lot more relaxed, the fact it got made at all shows that.
My comment was more regarding movies today. We've somehow become a lot more hysterical and pro-censorship now regarding this one specific thing than we were 50 years ago. Whereas if you want to show minors brutally murdering/being brutally murdered, you can go nuts and no one gives a shit at all. It's very weird.
Compare the reaction to Cuties vs the reaction to Terrifier for example.
>>
>>222057087
If anything, the Cuties thing seemed more like it was done to advertise it. If it wasn't, it was still just a subsection of the US population that went ballistic. The US also has a subsection that's okay with little kids being around naked men and gay men doing sexual drag queen shit in front of them.

I just saw that trailer for Crystal Lake, and I’m genuinely looking forward to it. I wasn’t expecting it, but I guess they worked out the rights for adult hockey mask Jason, and it looks to be recapturing that comfy mid-20th century rural New England of the originals.

Linda Cardellini is pretty hot as Pamela too, and I was surprised to find out that she’s only a year younger than Betsy Palmer was in the original Friday the 13th.

I’m really hoping it covers just what the hell Jason was up to in the years after he “drowned”, and was just living as a non-murderous hermit.
