The problem with adapting this is there are way too many characters. At this point of the story a proper adaptation would have focused on Cole in the riverlands, the lads, Daeron actually doing dragon stuff, and introduced a bunch of new characters but you can't do that in a TV show when you already have leads so they have to keep making up shit for Alicent and Rhaenyra to do.
