>Just look at that face. The face of a thinker. A warrior. A man for all seasons. Yes, Gul Dukat was all that and more. But he was not perfect. Perhaps his greatest fault was that he was too selfless. He cared too much for his fellow man, with nary a thought for himself. A man of limitless accomplishments, and unbridled modesty. I can safely say that to know him was to love him. And to love him was to know him. Those who knew him, loved him, while those who did not know him, loved him from afar.

I watched DS9 a couple of years ago, and when I look back on it, my perception becomes increasingly negative >Sisko. Ridiculous acting from Brooks, never clicked with him. Only passably human when interacting with Jake. The episode where Sisko is a writer in 1950s America is probably the nadir of 90s trek for me.>Kira never clicked with me, just a hateful and unpleasant person. Seemed pissed all the time and her romance with Odo was weird >Bajorans never clicked with me. Ron Moore got too big for his britches with this religion shit with the prophets and wraiths.>Gul Dukat was the best part of the show until he became a moustache twirler. The pivot in his development (character assassination) was so forced and obvious it led me into a deep dive where I learned the kvetching writers were pissed he was popular and tanked him. >Bashir is gay and lame, making him into an augment felt like a desperation move from the writers him more interesting>Worf felt like a desperation move to buoy ratings. >Runabouts were hideous, Sisko's ship looked like a flying phaser>Astonishingly weak final season, Ezri Dax was a mistake, should've just killed off Jadzia altogether I still liked the show, I guess. But the aliens like the Ferengi were the root of my enjoyment for DS9. That and O'Brian suffering.
"Thank you Ensign. That chocolate milk was quite adequate."
>>222211896Yeah we get it. You hate black people, women and jews. And you voted for trump.
>>222212147Alright. I'm remembering more characters. You know what? DS9 was just awesome at making characters.Going to add more to the list.-Vic Fontaine-Nog-Odo
Alright I messed up. Here's my full favorite DS9 Character list;-Quark-Bashir-O'Brien-Vic Fontaine-Sisko-Odo-Weyoun-Gul Dukat-Nog
>>222211896not even incorrect just extremely miniscule scale. most of the problems show up at the very last moment
>>222212057But I liked the FerengiIt's not my fault the writers chose a black man who could barely act like a human being If the writers wanted the fanbase to hate Dukat, they should've made him do evil things, instead of telling us he did bad things. The writers failed the audience and then over-corrected when they didn't get the results they wanted Jadzia acted like a wooden plank and Kira was a bitch. Not sorry. The women as a whole were unpleasant, Keiko included. The prophets intervening in the conception of Sisko makes him feel like a fanfiction magical negro space Jesus. Shooting magical lasers at Dukat was ridiculous storytelling >>222212128Mine were >Quark>Nog>Odo>The Negus >Weyoun>O'Brian>Garak>Dukat >Changeling Leader >Kai Winn>>222212237Well I certainly preferred the middle of DS9 over the end

ouch ouch ouch ouchie
>>222208022I'm sure Sulu has fathered many stools indeed.
>>222212341NTA and I love DS9 but I can't call it a great arc. It's great when he is reluctantly the Emissary but when he still thinks it's fucking hooey at the end of the day.The end of the whole story with the Prophets is such a disaster that it drags the rest of it down.I genuinely think DS9 is a better show without the religion angle.
DS9 went to shit the moment Robert Hewitt Wolfe left. Coincidence? I doubt it.
>>222212574oh yeah they definitely threw all the good work in the trash with poo wraiths. sisko does eventually accept the role with all the fate shit attached and it takes forever and it blows up federation-bajoran diplomacy stuff and calls back to sisko turning against starfleet in the first season. i think you must have missed most of that.
>>222212623Nah the proof is in the puddingWolfe was doing some heavy lifting being Behr's tard wranglerHe somehow filtered out 90% of Behr's terrible ideas, a miracle really given Behr's ego and self-importance
>>222212299>The writers failed the audience and then over-corrected when they didn't get the results they wantedI think its funny that overcorrection only happens after Sisko basically brainwashes him into a manchurian candidate during a psychotic break.
There are times I think DS9 is the best show. There are times I think TNG is the best show. There are times I think TOS is the best show. There are even times that I think VOY, while not the best show, is the most rewatchable Trek show.Really the only Trek show that never really captures me with its magic is ENT.
Amazing how TNG was so popular that even though the final season was mostly shit, people still demanded more.On one hand, it's a good thing they stopped when they did, otherwise Season 8 probably would've had more Sub Rosas or Homewards, but it's interesting to imagine a universe where there was an 8th season alongside DS9's 3rd instead of Voyager
>>222212658RDM has tard tendencies too, don't let him off scot-free. If you dig into his writing credits you'll see that basically every good script he ever did was a collaboration even the ones where he was credit as the sole writer, like The Defector.
>>222212759He absolutely does, sureThe strength of DS9's writing and TNG's really is in the ability of the writers to collaborate and work together cohesively
>>222212757TNG s7 was entirely helmed by Jeri Taylor and she decided to end the open submissions system to focus on a core writing staff. The more I read about Star Trek production the more I realize that open submissions is the only way to make good Trek.
>>222212799Yeah I think a lot of Jeri Taylor's ideas were kind of shit. Pretty sure she was massively involved in cutting the legs out from under the VOY concept as well.
>>222212823I actually really like Jeri Taylor's work both on Star Trek and with other shows, and I also believe Voyager was at its best when she was a producer, but cutting open submissions was a mistake.
>>222207710The worst dad is Tom Paris by far.
>>222212823>>222212799It's funny in the first couple seasons of Voyager where Janeway was very much her self insert, and once Taylor leaves, Janeway becomes almost a completely different character.

>>222213308its an amazing ep, why wouldn't it be anyone's favorite?
>>222213329because the writers spoonfeeding you Dukat's motivations in the desperate and misguided attempt to make you realize he's evil and stop liking him shines through. its a dumb and unnecessary episode even if it was well done.
Sisko to Dukat:"Peppa..."
>>222213391the failure is even more visible than the attempt, no need to twitter-boycott it or anything bro
>>222213391I don't really buy that's what happens in the show. I get that the writers might've thought that was what they were doing but if that's the case the problem is that Dukat isn't really evil until Sisko basically makes him evil. Sisko takes a completely psychotic man and gets him to accept that he did do something wrong during the occupation, and it was that he didn't kill enough Bajorans. He doesn't get Dukat to admit he wanted to kill more Bajorans during the occupation mind you. Its not a courtroom confession where he blurts out his actual crimes and evil nature. He is actively changed by Sisko to become more evil. Its very similar to the torture scenes in Chain of Command except the difference is that Dukat is pushed past the breaking point and accepts his version of there being five lights, specifically because of Sisko's instructions. It might be sloppy writing in the sense that it very clearly spells out why Dukat then goes on to do what he does in the rest of the series but they still ultimately fail in making him actually evil in the true sense of the word since they basically have Jesus talk a psychotic guy into accepting his role as the anti-christ so he has someone to fight during the final conflict.

So at what point in TNG did they give Patrick Stewart more creative freedom into Picard's stories and character. Because whenever I see him with a woman it feels like ridiculous pandering. >>222217630You keep posting her in skimpy workout clothes when I want to see her in a tight romulan military uniform
>>222225010Whatever else he might have done, he made her very happy.
>>222225284They could have find happiness without him. He took the choice out of their hand.
>>222224878We've had lighter and more serious episode of various subgenres since the very beginning. We have many more horror episodes from each series Phantasms, Scientific Method, Phage are all great. No Star Trek has ever been about a new alien world and strange culture every episode, get a grip.
>>222225408You cant argue matters of artistic or aesthetic intent with a sperg, they're autists not artists with a hard R. Just ignore em like the rest of the world and all women do.
>Star Trek was ALWAYS [x/y/z], CHUD!
star trek was groundbreaking
>>222225550I love Trekpu
>>222224826She did look pretty natural wielding that dagger.
>>222224273good boi
>>222225408Such a dishonest line of argument. You can't compare 1-2 episodes out of 26 to genre hopping from theme to theme in a 10 episode season. Well, you can, but you have to do it knowing that it's a massive stretch and that your points are not indicative in any way of matching the NuTrek pattern of production. Also, there is Star Trek horror and then there is whatever this is. This was shot exactly like some shitty modern horror film, having all of the tropes from the bad visual design to the stabbing violins to the fucking jumpscares to the excessive gore. This wasn't using the Star Trek format to tell a horror story -- this was doing some cheesy 1 hour horror movie that just happened to involve licensed Star Trek branding.God I swear nothing is more annoying than dishonest fucking arguments like this. I hate people like you.
>>222225550Carpets make sense. Humans and other need a certain amount of filth to keep the immune system going.
>>222224878SNW is trying to have both the production values of streaming shows and the episode variety of Berman Trek. Imagine how hated Move Along Home would be if DS9 had 10 episode seasons. We didn’t know how good we had it.
>>222225934move along home was the most expensive episode of the season. its also one of the best
>>222225934>Imagine how loved Move Along Home is by based anons who aren't total faggots because it's awesome
>>222226376It's an alright episode. A better example would be The Muse (although the B plot is based) or any Dax episode.
>>222225550Kinda weird that all member planets have agreed on English. One would think that at least the Vulcans would insist on billingual labels since enlightened Vulcan concepts can't be expressed in a caveman language. Or so they would argue
>>222226690Logical safety reasons I assume. Imagine the vulcan science officer changed the default language on his workstation to vulcan because it's more comfy, but gets injured during a crisis. Have fun setting the shit back to English.
>>222226797Do computer consoles on a starship have a user login system? Then it wouldn't be a problem. Logon as an English speaking human, and the console will use your user prefs.
>>222226690>Kinda weird that all member planets have agreed on English. It isn't, it's just translated to English, similar to Westron.
>Mr. Worf suggests firing photon torpedoesHow do you deny him, again, without sounding mad?
>>222227114It's like when Tasha Yar asks Picard if they can still trust Data now that he's found Lore. Picard immediately turns to remind the crew and the audience that "this is a valid security question."Worf is doing exactly what you want your security officer to you. You don't want your tactical guy to offer the peaceful solution. He is there to offer you the solution via force to a given problem. When asked for a suggestion, that should always be the option he offers his captain.t. Naval faggot
>>222226071I loved it
>>222227167>You don't want your tactical guy to offer the peaceful solutionThat sums it up nicely.

There were a few too many Reg and Troi episodes in the last 2 seasons of Voyager. There should have been zero.
There were a few too little Reg and Troi episodes in the last 2 seasons of Voyager. There should have been more.In fact, give them a comedy spin off.
>>222227406>I hate it when they serve me chocolate instead of shit
>>222227317Where's my season 1 Beverly Crusher in the miniskirt uniform?Fuck this world.
>>222227701Unlike Tasha and Troi, Beverly had serious job, and needed to dress for it.
>>222227701strangely true. I wonder why, it's not like she had a problem wearing tight yoga outfits.
>>222207710I think Klingons are boring and one dimensional. I mentally check out whenever I have to watch a Klingon episode.
be honest anons, you only bought her to "complete the set", right?
PICARD IS GETTING PUSSY ON RYZA PICARD IS GETTING PUSSY ON RYZA PICARD IS GETTING
>>222227921It's spelled "Risa"
>>222227890Any sane Star Trek fan says this. Klingons have been explored to death.
>>222227949Riser... that's how they got past the censorsmeat me on Stiffy Prime
>>222222222
>>222228049Holy shit what a bunch of faggot jannies
>>222228075it's not there yet?
>>222227862OHHH, good God, hips for days!
>>222227406You have to consider the fact that Reg was a prime A-list player on The A Team.
I still can't believe they deliberately acknowledged that Riker jerks off in the holodeck in the perfect mate. oldtrek was actually raunchier than nu-trek
>>222227862Who's responsible for this ugly abomination?
>>222228340That's what the h-deck is for.
so Tasha sucked Romu cock and died like a bitch on her escape after her space nazi daughter betrayed her. How ironic
>>222228465Saul Rubinek got better looking with age
>>222228465Why is he wearing a yarmulke
Just say no to trolls.
The marquis border dispute?
>>222228658What about it?
>>222207710Just rewatched TNG The Offspring.Anyone else agree it could be seen as a prolife episode? One of several conservative or chud friendly episodes.
>>222228779>could beit is unequivocally a pro life episde. star trek is pro life at its core. >Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life...
>>222228779no. pro-life is forcing a woman to have a child even when she doesn't want it. Troi's choice was respected
>>222227890Just finished Sins of the Father. I can't follow or be bothered to care about noble house drama or noble backstabbing. It's really boring, I can never get into it in any story. That's why I have never seen an episode of Game of Thrones, why would I watch a whole series about that?I genuinely find the Ferengi and the Q Continuum more intriguing.
>>222228922>pro-life is forcing a woman to have a child even when she doesn't want it.Then don't have sex, you sluts.
>>222228922kirk janeway archer and even sisko would have forced her to carry it to term. not sure about picard because hes randomly a fag about stuff
>>222228922Cardassia was always pro-life.
>watch a 30 year old tv.show where the premise is a future utopia where your ideology and everything making up your core identity has been eradicated from the human race because it's fucking retarded>pretend to not understand it so you can feel validatedsad, sad shit
>>222228978I know right? It's not like there isn't a plethora of alternatives.
>>222207710What did O'Brien do?Also worf for a klingon was a good father. Not his fault his kids mom turned his son into a little sissy
