I gave "Disclosure Day" a chance. Turned it off after 20 ~ 25 minutes. I was absolutely not interested in the two couples, the guy who stole a secret but wouldn't want to say what it was and the weather girl who had a psychotic episode on live TV. WTF? I thought Steven Spielberg and David Koepp had been around for a while and knew how to make a movie. You've got to get the viewer invested in the characters or in what's happening. You can't go on showing characters with zero charisma and waving fucking mystery boxes in front of the audience and expect them to follow for 2 hours. I watched "The Devil's Mouth" (2026), and it's nothing that hasn't been done before. Except maybe not with a Thai crew as this movie has a mainly English speaking cast, but everybody else seems to be Thai. It's the old Ten Little Indians with dumb college kids, and you could tell within the first 5 minutes who was going to die first and who was going to be the final girl. Solid film work, but the story was kind of old. And also stupid - the jumping shark was absolutely ridiculous and even more ridiculous was how the final girl killed him in the end.It gets a 5/10 from me. I love to watch stupid people getting killed one by one, but it was also kind of predictable.

Watched Evil Dead Burn, it's surprisingly good. Better than that new Raimi movie. Good action ideas, everything is a bit rushed at times though and too many cuts are involved; ending burning humanoid boss is sort of an anticlimax. Could've been a masterpiece. Good acting performances, especially the lead and the parents. The movie is severely stifled by modern cinematic techniques - extensive, nonsensical grading that ruins otherwise great sets and practical effects but it's still very good. Eh.

The cuts were egregious in the car carnage scene, he should've asked for pointers from Raimi because it was well planned but poorly executed. But in a sense this guy is like an extremely rich man's Fede Alvarez, someone who revisits old ideas but actually puts in some creativity when reenacting them. It's a tragedy that this guy isn't doing Alien remakes since his first movie was about spider infestation.

Just got out of Ice Cream Man. It was funny imo and crazy violent, not Terrifier level though. It's all absolutely played for laughs, it isn't even slightly trying to be scary except maybe for a cool shot obviously inspired by The Birds. The AI parts are a Fleischer style cartoon with dancing ice cream cones the kids see on their phones. It looks pretty ugly but I don't give a shit about AI. I liked the ending and the guy who plays the ICM. The most random part is it was produced by the rapper Nas and some of the music is by Snoop Dogg. Anybody want spoilers?

ok I watched The Interior. the first 25 minutes are totally not what I was expecting its like some Office Space comedy thing but that is basically just setting up that the guy has a worthless life that he hates. ok weird but whatever. when it gets to him in the woods it is kinda dull and starts to feel like a waste of time once you kinda get the point of what's going on but I must say there are a couple moments that ACTUALLY made me feel scared and creeped out like nothing has in a long time. like actual fear, my body reacted. Anyway I dunno if I would recommend it, its kind of artsy fartsy. but on the other hand, it's also short.
