I watched "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Cheaper Filming in Georgia" (2013). It has nothing to do with The Haunting in Connecticut 2009, the production company just wanted to cash in on the success of the previous movie. It is cheap, it was filmed in the woods and in a shack in the woods in Georgia. It only has a handfull of actors that are unknown except for Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff. It is boring - it's just people that are supposed to be dead and a few jump scares. It's got all the tired tropes of hundreds of films just like it. The little girl talks to dead people and gets told not to play with her "imaginary friends". The mom regularly sees dead people, but she's a schizophrenic and she takes pills. Spooky scene is played with dramatic music - it was just a dream. Jump scare, the dream wasn't over! Now it is. Or is it? Little girl follows her ghost friends, runs away in the middle of the night and gets herself and her dad trapped in an underground hideout with skeletons. She does this more than once. Apart from that, spooky images appear with dramatic music and people scream - but it isn't real. And that for 1 1/2 hours.3/10. It's OK if it's your first "Haunted Something" movie or if you like this kind of movie.

I hate how Jane Schoenbrun seems to be the only modern horror adjacent director that likes color and doesnt frame movies thinking of farming tiktok reels. Shame about the abhorrent, self referential plots and dialogue and characters. But to be fair I think most writer-directors suck at writing.

I’ve been going through Tales from the Crypt, and there’s some good episodes in there, but man, there’s a lot of filler episodes too where it’s just a 25-minute setup for a punchline that you can see coming a mile away. A lot of people betraying someone for monetary gain, and then getting some sort of ironic comeuppance at the end.

Watching this on Amazon Prime was a mistake, they censored the hell out of this release by blurring the photos one kid took of Gregory's ice cream trunk and any scene that seems to have any gore becomes monochrome. Sucks since I was really enjoying the movie an hour in until I found out I was watching a censored cut. And damn they did Tuna's actor wrong, they wrote the dialogue like the kid was a grade A fat ass and instead it just looks like he's wearing layers of clothing.Wonder if this will end up better or worse than Roth's Ice Cream Man.
