They setup the story as Rhaenyra vs Alicent in S1, and it was fine and cool and interesting, but then they had this main actress who wouldn't do anything for the rest of the story and had to invent something for her. And it ruins it for everyone. She keeps wanting to escape, but also wants to have her way with Rhaenyra, wants to kill her sons, schemes behind everyone. It's nonsensical because her motives change episode to episode. So much screentime wasted on her, going back and forth to dragonstone, scheming in King's Landing, repeated internal struggles that actually resolve into nothing, repeated scenes of her trying to escape, repeated scenes of Rhaenyra going to her for counsel. Wasted screentime. The rest of the characters relegated to the background with no development. Remove her from the story, and nothing actually changes.
