It sounds Nietzschean. He had a concept that if a being came to you and told you you would live your life on endless repeat, then to those who loved their life truly will see them as an angel, and those who lived in torment will see them as a demon.

The location itself is subtly warping the characters' minds, doesn't obey reality in conventional ways and something unknowable ends up taking the students. Also the bizarre red cloud It's basically a Lovecraft film from the POV of an average person without any knowledge of the Mythos, who catches just the tiniest glimpse of its vastness.

>Nicolas Cage to Battle Cannibals in Nuclear Apocalypse Action-Horror Movie ‘Parish’
>he plays “a hardened survivor who has managed to stay alive with his highly trained attack dogs by following one unbreakable rule: never let anyone through the gate. That rule has kept him alive for three decades. But when a desperate woman carrying an infant appears outside his sanctuary, Parish is forced to choose between compassion and survival.

Just finished. Very dull Corman produced creature feature. A diver goes missing off the coast of the Mexican village some white broad's on vacation at, and she becomes baselessly convinced it must've been some sort of monster. So I watched Monster Heaven and Monster Heaven Ghost Hero last night

Monster Heaven was basically japanese Creepshow, starts with two russian astronauts stumbling onto a katana on the moon (lol), then it flashes back through the katana’s memories as short stories
My fave was the kappa revenge part, some cool practical effects

Ghost Hero is set centuries later, has this cyberpunk vibe, takes place in a high-rise, but the katana is just a side note
The "good" yokai cast was pretty awesome and the ending connects beautifully with the first one, but the movie itself is not as good

I watched "Ghoulies II" (1987). You were right, it was fun. But it was clearly made for ages 12 and older. (That's the official rating of the movie.) Anyway, I thought the speed limit sign and the truck and the padlock in the first 5 minutes looked European, so I looked it up: The movie was shot in Italy. None of the extras spoke any English, which is probably why they appear goofy or their actions in the movie don't make sense at times - they didn't understand what the director wanted them to do. Since they counted the ghoulies in the movie when they first appeared (there were 4 and the "bat"), I noticed immediately that the big demon in the end only ate 3 of them and the "bat". Oh, well, doesn't matter, if there was a third "Ghoulies" movie, it probably went straight to VHS/DVD.

5/10 for another comfy 1980s watch, it doesn't score higher because there really isn't much of a story, and yet it goes on for 90 minutes.

>>222665258
When I was super young, I used to have recurring night terrors about being menaced by a skinless guy named Frank who would crawl along the floor. For decades, I thought it was just something that I cooked up in my six-year-old brain, but it wasn't until I watched Hellraiser that I realized that I must have gotten it from that, and then I mentally traced back to where I picked it up.

I used to stay at my grandparents' house a lot when I was extremely, they had HBO, my deaf teenage uncle watched a ton of horror movies around that time, and I used to sneak into the living room while he was watching them and hang out behind the couch.

I had a similar revelation watching Fright Night on Tubi a few months back. I've had this image burned into my brain for decades of a vampire with Raggedy Andy red yarn hair, with no idea where it came from, and I finally saw it again in that movie.

It does. I noticed one ghoulie was missing when Larry, Sir Nigel and Nicole(?) where locking themselves in Nigel's trailer. I thought "hang on, wasn't that only three?"

>>222675185
I kinda hated Drunky McBooze because that character had potential, but they wanted to kill him off early so they made him a hopeless alcoholic who couldn't even get his own banishing spell right. Didn't seem anybody from the carnival missed him when he died, except Larry. Same goes for the blonde with the cat. She went missing and her co-stars from her act just assumed "yeah, well, she musta run off". No big deal.

The whole script felt improvised around what actors and what props they could get for their budget. And they even moved to Italy because it was probably cheaper to shoot over there.

Oh well, it was entertaining, though I think I already saw it as a kid on late night TV. And there's definitely worst movies out there.

"The Devil's Rock" (2011). I think I saw this a long time ago and forgot about it. It's a low budget gross out horror movie. Literally two bleeding guys on a single set, from time to time joined by a female demon. Tired trope of le evil nazi, but in the end it's the nazi who wants to banish the devil back to hell and the heroic kiwi who kills the nazi preventing him from doing so, thereby letting the devil roam the island for all eternity.

I remember chuddies saying Onslaught wasn't going to be about Nazis.
>Onslaught director and star Adria Arjona tease their Nazi super-soldier slasher with parallels to ICE
>German, genetic experiments, unchecked militarism — all signs begin pointing to the darkest chapter in 20th-century history. Wingard confirms: Onslaught will explore “the period in America after World War II, where we started bringing over Nazi rocket scientists and spies, and through the Operation Paperclip program.”
>“This movie really did start from a place where you say, ‘Well, if we brought Nazi scientists and gave them prominent positions behind the scenes in our government in the ‘40s and they just kept a low profile, that doesn’t just disappear into the wind,” Wingard explains. Three words for what rises instead: “Nazi nepo babies.”
>That’s where Stevens steps in. “The character that Dan plays is based on a real guy, Hans Kammler. He was a notorious S.S. guy who was in charge of the rocket program,” Wingard says. Indeed, Kammler was one of the architects behind the construction of several of the Third Reich’s concentration camps, before he took charge of Hitler’s secretive Vergeltungswaffen, or V-weapons program.
>What interests Wingard is less Kammler’s legacy in Germany, but the “strong belief, that I think it’s probably true, that he survived World War II, and went to work for one of the governments, potentially ours.” Wingard asks, “What would his family lineage be? Because they’re all going to be working behind the scenes. They’re going to be the Nazi nepo babies.”
Can't wait for this kino. Too bad there isn't much outrage from conservatives like they did with The Hunt (2020).

Just finished. Typical Insidious crap. It's got two good set pieces, but is way too overwritten. When you put too many rules in place in a horror story, you just create supernaturally themed sci-fi, anime falls into this trap constantly. The daughter is fantastic, she's got baby Brit Marling vibes. The villain is another Slipknot looking faggot, I'll never understand thinking something like that looks scary. This was definitely some NOES ripoff non-Insidious script that got repurposed.

The flavor profiles are similar but they have some core differences.
A Reese's cup is heavier on the chocolate and has that soft peanut butter center. Butterfingers have a thinner chocolate coating and more emphasis on the center, which is a crunchy, flaky peanut butter base. Both are S tier, but I think Reese's is more to most peoples' preference, including mine.
It also helps that they have more/better Halloween variants. Different shapes and even a white chocolate version.
>>
>>222690874
>A Reese's cup is heavier on the chocolate
this is why i prefer butterfingers. cheap chocolate is so underwhelming. cheap white chocolate (it's frosting) is even worse. i like sweet crunchy things like brittles and (good) toffee, so I'm biased

Not all UE5 games are horribly optimized to be fair, but it helps to know how to tinker with the right settings if you're a lower-spec gamer.
