I watched "Ghoulies II" (1987). You were right, it was fun. But it was clearly made for ages 12 and older. (That's the official rating of the movie.) Anyway, I thought the speed limit sign and the truck and the padlock in the first 5 minutes looked European, so I looked it up: The movie was shot in Italy. None of the extras spoke any English, which is probably why they appear goofy or their actions in the movie don't make sense at times - they didn't understand what the director wanted them to do. Since they counted the ghoulies in the movie when they first appeared (there were 4 and the "bat"), I noticed immediately that the big demon in the end only ate 3 of them and the "bat". Oh, well, doesn't matter, if there was a third "Ghoulies" movie, it probably went straight to VHS/DVD.5/10 for another comfy 1980s watch, it doesn't score higher because there really isn't much of a story, and yet it goes on for 90 minutes.

Halfway through this at the moment. Flanagan really has been making variations of the same thing for his whole career. Catholic guilt, trauma, psychosis, spooky ghost... I'm not complaining much, I usually like his stuff a lot and this show is pretty good.
Just finished. Typical Insidious crap. It's got two good set pieces, but is way too overwritten. When you put too many rules in place in a horror story, you just create supernaturally themed sci-fi, anime falls into this trap constantly. The daughter is fantastic, she's got baby Brit Marling vibes. The villain is another Slipknot looking faggot, I'll never understand thinking something like that looks scary. This was definitely some NOES ripoff non-Insidious script that got repurposed.
