Someone help me understanding the ending of Voyager S1 Ep1. Why did Janeway blow up the Array?

The peaceful Odobobo aliens were already trapped underground and doomed to die off in 5 years after the energy from the Caretaker ran out. The bootleg Klingons were violent retards, that somehow had giant star ships that were able to damage the Voyager even though they were amazed by basic Starfleet technology. They wanted to take over the Array, but presumabily never could because the Caretaker's defense systems would BTFO them.

So.... after the Array gets damaged, and the self-destruct sequence is terminated, isn't the logical move to beam a team onto the Array, and use its systems to finish off the bootleg Klingons? Then take your time repairing whatever you need to while figuring out how to send yourselves back to Federation space? You can set the Array to self-destruct again right before you leave and everyone's happy.

But instead Janeway spergs out and orders the Array destroyed and effectively condemns everyone on board Voyager to spend the rest of their lives trapped on the ship. They say it'll take 75yrs to get back at warp 9, but thats an impossible time frame since the ship can't maintain warp 9 for prolonged periods of time, and every minute spent going slower than warp 9 increases their travel time exponentially. So realistically its a 100+ year journey.

But Janeway says she doesn't want to get home at the expense of the Odobobo's, but how does that make any fucking sense when the outcome is the same for them no matter what Voyager does? They still die in 5 years, and it should be a simple matter to keep the bootleg Klingons at bay until Voyager is able to return home, and blow up the Array then.

(Cont)

It just seems to me like the Array getting damaged in the fight was a good enough excuse to say it was fucked beyond repair (the Caretaker's tech is too advanced for Starfleet) and so they're forced to take the long way home. But they wanted to give Janeway agency over the situation for some stupid girl boss moment "she's doomed us, why do we have to listen to her?!" "BECAUSE SHE'S THE CAPTAIN!" Oh snap! And then she gives her little HR speech about how fun its going to be trying to overcome these impossible odds and make it back to Federation space before they all die of old age....but its all her fault, and she did it for no logical reason, or even to just follow the Prime Directive to the bitter end. Unless their intention is to write Janeway like a real woman, I just don't get it.
>>
>>222707948
They just needed an excuse to keep the ship there, they imply the Kazon were also helped by the caretaker and knew what value the tech held. So it would’ve just been giving the whole thing to them, the real question is why not use the tech to get home and leave a torpedo behind on the station to blow it up after they get home
>>
The Kazon were so dumb that despite having interstellar spacecraft, they couldn't figure out how to smash together some hydrogen (the most common element in the universe) and oxygen (the active ingredient of the air they were breathing) to make water. How were they ever supposed to be taken seriously as a villain race?

The Kazon should have had some Trabe or other advanced races as tech slaves. The Mongols would spare craftsmen and engineers because they are useful, but then they aren't retarded cabbage heads. It's a general trek failing in that non Feddie factions are monoliths with no subject/ally planets. There are loads of different proud warrior race guys who would be natural friends of Klingons, or working as mercenaries for Ferengi.

None of these shows are actually Star Trek. They're all skinwalkers. And you know this, Redditfag. It doesn't matter how many memberberries you cram into them, the underlying writing style is still foreign to Star Trek. STD might be a "TOS-era show" but ultimately it's a serialized action show. Same goes for Picard. LD is a generic adult cartoon wearing the TNG aesthetic and lore like a skinsuit. SNW is genre pastiche, Prodigy is a toddler cartoon, and Starfleet Academy is a YA drama.
None of these shows are Star Trek. None of them are written like Star Trek, none of them follow Star Trek's actual format and genre.

Many episodes feature Spock meeting someone he'd meet again a few yers later as Kirk's First Officer. They don't recognize each other and Spock never mentions them in TOS. This is either a massive plothole or Spock loses his memories somehow (but not of Pike?).

Supposedly they only built an initial run of six Galaxy classes, before moving on to build more, and then when the Dominion War kicked off, they fast-tracked what they had in production and sent them off to fight without all the luxurious Galaxy class amenities installed.
With this in mind, I posit that we should have seen a bunch of goofy saucerless Galaxies whizzing around in those giant DS9 fleet battles.

Isn't most of her reasoning that the TNG crew mostly went on to make Voyager, so she really felt at home filming for Voyager while DS9 had a whole different vibe about it, like spending time at a friend's house and finding out their family do everything a bit different, which in DS9's case was much less relaxed

The makeup effect was so shitty that I immediately guessed the gimmick of the episode. Why would they cast a young actor in old man makeup instead of just casting an old man? I don't think I've seen so much jealousy and seethe before, just for this tiny detail.
I also met a Dutch woman who coped with having long hair to "out feminize" her sister or something, she was a aspie neet who had a chip on her shoulder because her sister was just nicer, and easier to be around and cut her hair short because it's easier.

A Federation officer’s commission is not a monetary payment. It is the formal grant of rank and authority to serve in Starfleet—along with the practical benefits of post-scarcity society: housing, food, clothing, medical care, education, transport, and access to needed goods.

The Federation may still use credits or other forms of accounting for exchanges with non-Federation societies, luxury goods, or scarce items, but money is no longer required for ordinary life on Earth. In that sense, an officer is compensated through security, resources, status, and the opportunity to pursue meaningful work—not a conventional salary.

Okay so, apparently instead of Paramount+ and Disney+ and that kind of retarded shit in India they have something called Disney+hotstar and instead of a subscription you can watch anything you want but it has ads. Strange New Worlds is on there.

Disney+hotstar used to be JioCinema, which was owned by Viacom18, a shell company for Reliance Industries, the largest publicly traded company in India. All three of those entities publicly brag on their boring ass corpo sites about how they strategically use marketers at peak times across multiple platforms.

I can keep whittling this down to marketing office locations and how many zombies and bots they use per site but Mukesh Ambani is the Chairman and Managing Director of India's Reliance Industries, so ultimately the blame for all of this falls on him. The next time you see fifty posts of nutrek spam in a row with no replies and you wonder who benefits from this madness, curse Mukesh's name.

I should stop because this is just the churn of wageslaves and their nutrek masters now, but I need to know where their cages are.

that was my thought as well. leave TWENTY torpedos on the fucking thing and set them to blow up two minutes after they leave, and use an evolving demi-recursive quantum technobabble algorithim to encode the destruct on the torpedos. Kazon dont have teleporters so they're not going to do some buillshit like beam them off, they can't physically move them off, and even if the kazon were math savants and could break the ecryption on the detonator, if you have like two dozen of the fucking things scattered around the core they can't do them all in two minutes.
Granted it's just narrative convention and it does set up for some drama later when Janeway feels like she fucked up by stranding them there, but it's not an unsolvable problem.

>I don't like wearing them if I don't have to

Does the use of the word REGULATION mean something different in the future?

TNG did the puppet episode better.

Lower Decks has a better puppet episode.

You can just feel all the Nu-Trek fans fapping to all the deep character lore, trauma and references mentioned in these interviews.
>>
>>222705344
It involves the fuckers who made/wrote that recent Dungeons & Dragons movie so you can be sure it'll be as shit as any Nu-Trek with tons of references, "fun" action scenes and Marvel crap humor.

What if this guy was actually bullshitting about dying? In actuality he's a pervert freak who gets off on moments like when Picard told the entire crew to think about him and wish him well. He just warps from place to place, emotionally manipulating and creating opportunities to get attention from large groups of strangers. It's a pathological liar/Munchausen kind of thing.

have you like....not seen the rest of the show?

I TNG episode where they fell into a puppet dimension and had to work with puppet aliens would have been cool. They could have even made it a morality play, or a lesson on meeting other cultures halfway. This podcast clip goes into how SNW used their puppet episode as pure filler. https://youtu.be/4p8xZmraHWA?si=sL0tec8hKjnLZ_8B

>beam a team onto the Array
And when the Kazon come at them in greater numbers then what? Meanwhile, Voyager does what? They were losing the space battle and had to get outta there. How are they supposed to ever come back for the left over team when the Kazon would have fortified the area.

Why does everyone swear so much in nu-trek? I didn't need to hear Picard say "ass deep in romulans". Stupid.

Patrick Stewart refused to say an American Dad line about Ian McKellen being a gay pedophile, but he said that as Picard.

Babylon 5, where do you rank it if it was a Trek series? In other words, when would you rather watch B5 instead of a Trek series?

I found it rather boring, comparable but more interesting than Enterprise:

TNG>DS9>VOY>TOS>.......LD>SNW>B5>ENT>........ rest of Nu-Trek
>>
>>222723172
couldnt never get into it
>>
>>222723049
That was literally the first time I had lost faith in Trek and experienced a significantly bad Trek moment.
>>
>>222723071
Someone needs to make giant chart with each of those captions along with screenshots of each scene.

during a focal aware seizure
>>
>>222723172
I never liked the production design. It's not comfy like Trek is.
>>
>>222723196
You realize that unless you also skipped Nu-Trek, you're admiting B5 is worse than that.
>>
>>222723314
only nu trek ive ever seen is like 4 episodes of discovery and season 1 and season 3 of picard
>>
>>222723314
NTA
that is not logically necessitated.

There are numerous reasons why anon could watch NuTrek but not B5 while still believing that B5 is better than NuTrek.

For example, the Trek IP itself being in common. Or Paramount+ ease of watch.
>>
>>222723314
Untrue. NuTrek has the Power of Math.™
B5 has the Power of Meth.™

They said they couldn't get into it, not that they couldn't find a way to watch it.
