Don't get me wrong, there's a few pictures of her with bad angles or where the wrinkles and makeup are a little too obvious

But I still sorta think Barbara is the most attractive very old woman in the world. Like she's getting into that "this is weird" zone that Helen Mirren was in for a while.

I saw a convention video of Crampton with Linnea Quigley, and good lord, poor Linnea

Seasons 1 and 2 were consistently very good whereas season 3 so far has a lot of high highs and low lows. The episodes with Kyle Maclachlan and Jon Lovitz were pure kino but there's also been a few episodes that were just plain bad.
Is there a certain season where I should jump ship or does it stay pretty good throughout?
>>
>>222753612
It was too fucking long. And not in a way that could just be edited down, I think it was just badly formed as a film.

Just finished. Completely pathetic anthology from Curtis Everitt that's just two stories. Clocking in at 90 minutes and being that most of his movies are around 50, that means it's really just two Everitt features packaged together. The first one is just a guy going on a walking trail and getting harassed by a redneck with an axe who sings "This land is my land, it is not your land." I haven't seen the movie Gerry, so this has more shots of people just walking than any other movie I've watched. The second story is about a woman who's married to a dragon, aka a dude in a leotard wearing a halloween mask. Everitt movies are either batshit insane or dull as fuck and this one was a snoozer.

QRD of Freaky Stories

>Most of the classic urban legends adapted into kids horror anthology show (alligators in the sewer, the Hook, phone calls coming from inside the house, vanishing hitchhiker, spiders in the hairdo, etc.)
>Each segment has a different animation style
>Show is hosted by a cockroach, Larry, and a maggot, Maurice, inside a comfy diner at night, both are live-action puppets
>Segments move between different genres, some are scifi, some horror, a lot are comedy
>Some of the shorts get pretty creative, there's multiple ones that take place in a cyberpunk+film-noir setting, there's even one that is an X-Files parody

Just finished. I went to see it in the theater but got really drunk and blacked out about halfway through. This shit is a MESS. I'm pretty sure that at the climax he just gave up on trying to have it make sense. The majority of the movie is the two female leads having a conversation. The movie's about a director visiting the star of a slasher movie she's been hired to remake, and they have a good part where they watch the original together and the footage they shot is funny and cool. The death scenes are WAY over the top, obviously supposed to be comedic. Of course, the movie's about trannies, and I actually think the subtext is him explaining his AGP fetish (the actual narrative is Gillian Anderson teaching the other girl how to have an orgasm, no bullshit.) Dan Schoenbrun even has the gall to put a shot of himself in the movie. I HATE his taste in music, it goes past ironic into just shit again. The major kill scene is scored to a fucking Counting Crows song, jesus christ. The supporting cast is great. Hannah Einbender takes her top off. Gillian does a (very good) Dolly Parton impression the entire movie. I hate Dan Schoenbrun. He makes shit I should LOVE and makes complete garbage out of it. It's interesting seeing movies made by a genuinely insane person, though.
>>

>I went to see it in the theater but got really drunk and blacked out about halfway through.

>>

>but got really drunk and blacked out about halfway through. This
it's good that you put this right at the start of your post so that it can be immediately disregarded
>>
>>222756352
I didn't mind the music, but I had never heard that Counting Crows song so I liked it desu. Yeah Gillian's accent was convincing, she's just a pro.
Spoilers: I guess the film becomes us watching a film about the characters which we put ourselves into, and it's created by Schoenbrun who is making the film like Little Death who he puts xerself into. That'd honestly be kino if it wasn't about him not being able to cum. That's a fucking huge flaw right there because that is not interesting and is probably why the ending was so lame.
>>
>>222756488
it's honestly insulting for a man to make a movie about female orgasm and claim it's from his own point of view, lmao. I doubt most women will get that, though, and find the movie very identifiable. I mean, it's about a character who has to fantasize about getting murdered to climax, lmfao
>>
>>222756527
Oh yeah it's very funny, there's no way terfs aren't raging about it on twitter. Wish casting Gillian Anderson as a lesbian is what I'd have done as a teenager as well. I've known lesbians who I think would actually identify with it, but then not at all with the whole getting murdered thing which they would think of as the most misogynist shit you could write lol.
>>
>>222756595
I doubt it was, but I hope against hope the full screen shot of Hannah's face as she finally cums was for real and Gillian was actually fingering her, lol
>>
>>222756681

a very dull alien knockoff without any of the entertaining b movie tropes.
you barely see the adult alien and the baby aliens are on screen for maybe a minute.
the gore is almost entirely done off screen and you only get to see the poorly done aftermath.
none of the women are particularly attractive and you only see tits during the goofy insemination scene.
finally the entire crew is frustratingly retarded, which makes the movie a chore to watch.
the final complaint has nothing to do with the movie itself, but the chick who is inseminated does a lot of screaming. she screams when she first sees the alien, she screams while getting knocked up, she screams due to trauma, she screams because of the alien influence and she screams while giving birth. the point is she screams a lot and whenever she does the camera is pushed up, focusing solely on her and i couldn't help but notice how many cavities she has and it was really really distracting.
>>
>>222756797
Yeah I didn't think much of it. I did like a few of the running around tunnel scenes just because it reminded me of classic sci fi.
Also noticeable fillings are nice to me because it reminds me there was a time when people didn't have to be perfect to be in movies.

Watching it now episode-by-episode as an adult rather than just watching whatever was on-air at the time as a kid, I'm realizing that there are a ton of filler episodes of "I'm going to betray my spouse/business partner and suffer an ironic comeuppance at the end" between the standouts that everyone remembers.

It's also a trip watching it now that I know the names of the filmmakers of the area, so I can be like "Oh shit, Walter Hill wrote this one, it should be a banger."

Is Hellraiser Judgment any good? I saw that it was on Tubi.

For reference, I consider Hellraiser 1 to be one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time, love Hellraiser 2 until around the point when Channard's brains get scrambled and it turns really stupid, thought that 3 got too cartoonish for the sake of turning Pinhead into Freddy Krueger, and was surprised to find that I didn't hate Bloodlines and thought it was an ok finale to the whole thing, and thus haven't ventured beyond that point.

Just finished it. It's got the same strengths and weaknesses as the other movie, but stronger and less weak.

The strengths are in the visuals, both in the actual cinematography and the local flavor of the area the movie was shot in, which gives it some personality, and in the fact that the director is good at capturing very specific niches of millennial experience and nostalgia that aren't often portrayed so earnestly. In World's Fair, it was internet addiction/subcultures of the 2000s/2010s, while in this one it captures the mystique of 90s TV and its fandoms. This one shows more how that kind of media escapism can at first give you comfort when the world around you seems unappealing or threatening, but then can end up just stunting you as you invest your life into something that you'll eventually grow out of and be faced with the reality that in the meantime, you've still ceased to develop yourself to the point of being able to find comfort and success in the real world, instead just developing mental illness and surviving at a basic level in misery, alone and purposeless. I didn't get much of a "trans awakening" theme from it like I expected, other than the halfbreed wearing a dress in one scene as he seemed to emulate and identify with the woman on the show, but that seemed anecdotal and not any kind of character arc.

The weakness is in how loose the story is, and how the movie experience is more of a general vibe that, especially if you don't personally connect with it, will just seem like a bunch of mundane shit happening in a somewhat dry drama that doesn't quite feel "artistic" enough to be that way, with the horror element being mostly referred to as part of the characters' obsession, rather than a feature of the actual movie

I'd recommend it, but not to everyone

hilarious that all three of his movies are about media obsession, and also odd that his new movie almost has the opposite message of the main character actualizing herself by giving in to it. I guess Fair and TV were him wallowing in grief over not being successful, but now he is so he gets to act like he was doing the right thing the whole time.
>>
>>222774894
Like I said, he's the only one I've seen who tries to really portray that kind of thing in earnest, although in these first two movies, they do so by skirting around being real, direct horror movies. It's more like the director trying to speak to the horror community through an overlap of internet addicts. I wonder what older viewers think when watching, and I wonder what later generations will think of them in the future.
I'm curious to see for myself how the third movie changes things.
>>
>>222775029
>I'm curious to see for myself how the third movie changes things.
it doesn't really, except for the MC being vindicated. it's a romantic drama about a horror movie director and star, and the horror movie is just background.
>I wonder what older viewers think when watching, and I wonder what later generations will think of them in the future.
I personally can't get around him being a tranny. absolutely nothing he does can be valid to me because I see him as a literally insane person. I think eventually that will be the thing he's recognized for among both young and old viewers, a novelty, an insane person who got to make a few movies, because I think tolerance for trannies peaked a while ago and public opinion about them is going down the toilet. My hope is he makes something next that's very badly received and he an heroes over it.

To me, it's more about seeing how his upbringing (which people in my age group share) made him a crazy person. I find that very interesting, and I think I Saw the TV Glow was very revealing in that regard. The movies are like self therapy and a cry for help, while connecting to others who, if not affected in that exact way, still shared a similar experience that the movies play some part in acknowledging.
Remember that weird, awkwardly gay autistic kid you knew in middle school who you suspected was a furry? The movie's like a clear window into their mind as it tried to explain itself

this is what his new movie is, him explaining his AGP fetish using a metaphor, and he really rubs your face in it. Spoiler: the final scene of the movie is the two lead characters going into a gas station covered in blood and half naked and kind of flaunting the way they look after the MC discovers the only way she can orgasm is imagining she's being murdered. there are two cashiers, one a MAGA type dude and one a chubby young woman, and the woman compliments their appearance while the dude looks at them disapprovingly. It really struck me how it parallels him going out in public as a woman and how it turns him on, or even something exhibitionistic like a cumwalk. tldr the movie's all about how he wasn't interested in sex until he discovered crossdressing in public and it finally got his dick hard.
