How does this guy climb the ranks to run his own galactic mobster gang when he can barely move?
>>222810942He had a lot of wealth and connections. He also did deals with the Empire.
>>222810942He probably had blackmail material on all the top senators on Coruscant
>>222810942Obesity has never been an inhibitor to creating a successful crime empire.
>>222810942Apparently the Hutt species didn't always look like that. They had a bit of an empire and they began to screw around with their genes so they all ended up stuck in their larval stage
>>222812754I had an idea along these lines, only inverted. I never really engaged much with EU books and such, but I spent a lot of my childhood/teens thinking about all things Star Wars. I had this headcanon all worked up about the Hutts where Jabba is an outcast/renegade because he wasn’t brutal *enough* for their culture. In my thinking, they have a warrior culture kind of like the Klingons and they gatekeep their species’ own developmental stages sort of like a genetically-enforced caste system. Jabba was at the penultimate “pollywog” stage of development. He couldn’t finish the last rite of passage, and was scheduled to get grafted into a Hutt ship as a “crewman/navigator.” I envisioned their mature form to be something like huge, bestial, bipedal frogs/salamanders.
