reposting my critiquefor visibility hereWhy does no one talk about how much of a pig Riker is? The holographic jazz girl. The non binary person. Grooming Lefler, looking her body up and down and telling her to keep it up. Using his position of power to take the woman on Risa. Instantly sleeping with Ro, when shes not in her right mind. Raping or at the very least sexual assaulting that woman in the episode where her husband died and every just laughs it off. Numerous creepy interactions with ensigns and random red shirts. I am sure I am missing some. Oh right, flirting with that alien that wants to fuck him and talking about how there's differences in how we make love. It honestly stains the rewatchability of this show. Its just fucking weird. Did no one tell the writers this was a bad look? I was told to watch this show because it was a supposed progressive paradise where humans have evolved past earthly desires. Also I dont like how Riker treats Barclays condition as a joke, Geordie is the only one that tolerates him.

This misunderstanding may have arisen from a costume error in "The Omega Glory", which officers on the USS Exeter were shown having their own unique insignia, but the intention was for all ships to use one symbol. A memo from Robert H. Justman dated 18 December 1967 clarified the policy around the arrowhead emblem , stating "all Starship personnel wear the Starship emblem that we have established for our Enterprise Crew Members to wear," meaning that the arrowhead was always meant to be the emblem for all of Starfleet. Further, the crew of the Antares was the "equivalent of the Merchant Marines or freighter personnel" and other emblems should be counted as production mistakes.

>>223088507>Unlike Commodore Bob Wesley, who was only in temporary command of the Lexington, Matt Decker is a Flag Officer with permanent field command of a starship. In fact, he's the only Flag Officer we see in Star Trek with a field command. As a consequence of Commodore Decker's rank and status as Commander of the U.S.S. Constellation (his flagship), he wears the Fleet Command Insignia denoting his status as a Flag Officer in the field. If we had seen Commodore Decker's crew (may they rest in peace), we would have seen the delta shape insignia in use on their uniforms. Commodore Decker's own first officer would have held the rank of Captain and worn the Starship Duty Insignia.>It should be noted that "The Doomsday Machine," which was filmed early in Season 2, is not referenced in Bob Justman’s memo. Some speculate that Decker’s absence from the memo is further indication of the inconsistent use of emblems in Star Trek, but that presupposes that the production staff missed that detail. However, the very existence of the Justman memo, and a whole forest of others just like it, demonstrates that the opposite is true.

>>223093356I don’t think this place is important. I think you are. I clearly wanted to talk about things in private. You clearly wanted attention. Exactly the attention I gave you. You are without grace. I do not care what your friend thinks he’s shown himself to be entirely unreliable and you incapable of discernment. If you want to form an opinion on me you should refer to me. That’s what an adult would do

DailyTrekAnon here, I'm gonna be watching The Man Trap now, but I wanted to post something I thought was funny from The Cage. This one Ensign or Yeoman or whatever comes up to Pike after they start passing through the distress signal and tries to pass him this folder of papers, but Pike immediately dismisses him, and then he just stands there after. Is that his whole job on the ship? Like the other guy who's entire job is to stand by the turbolift behind him? I don't know why I'm cracking up over this.
Why was Crusher's season 1 color pallet so uncanny? That hair hue with the darker blue uniform is like sandpaper on my eyeballs
>>223094819Even lefties are shitting on NuTrek for disrespecting the lore. Star Trek is the absolute last IP you wantn to play fast and loose with the mythology.
never should have cancelled shran
>>223093810You need to consider the possibility that the Alf homeworld got conquered and subsumed into one of the many empires in the Star Trek universe. If it's deep within the borders of the Romulan Star Empire, then the Enterprise crew aren't likely to encounter any of those Alfs.
alright guys, I'm watching VOY S6 E3 Barge of the Dead.I see Riddles down the road from here, and I'm excited for it. I've been anticipating Riddles.
>>223095944barge of the dead is fun, albeit ridiculous.
>>223095761>Even leftiesIsn't the New York Post right wing?
>>223094081There's more evidence Star Trek takes place in the same universe as Cheers.>Both filmed on the same lot>Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammar guest starred on each other's shows>Tons of shared actors>Morn
>>223096070>Mornuhhhhhhhhh....
>>223096064>>223096064I listen to a podcast called Newbie Star Trek. They're huge lefties (predictably), but one of the hosts flat out told the audience NuTrek is awful and to stick with 90's Trek.
>>223096070actors playing different roles and a smattering of references aren't "evidence" for any sort of in-universe connection
>>223086409Which side character is literally (You)?
>>223095944Barge of the dead is better after you know it was supposed to be Worf instead of Banana

>>223096417she's a woman
On tonight's episode of Star Trek, a man becomes so smart that we have to kill him.
>>223094086Oh you'll love it. They had a musical episode and a puppet one and even made a tv show inside the tv show. It was very clever. Since you missed the first 10 episodes of ACK i'd suggest watching them all to catch up before the final 10 episodes air early next year

>>223096999That was clearly an Enterprise take on Beauty and the Beast.
>>223095349Finished the episode. This was a good pick for the premiere, since it characterizes everyone pretty well pretty quick: Bones puts the science ahead of his mooning over Nancy when he realizes Darnell wasn't poisoned, Spock gets a little hot under the collar from Uhura's chitchat but the mask clicks right back into place when he corrects her (Vulcan HAS no moon), Sulu as the head of security who is plenty of fun when he's not doing his job, and Kirk crawling around in the sand in those purple boots putting himself at risk to save the rest of his crew back on the ship. It's odd that he lets out that scream the second time the Salt Vampire goes back to suck him off, since I doubt the weird mental shapeshifting it does would cover that up from when she kills Barnhart (the guy in the spacesuit) and Professor Crater on the ship, or even down planetside when she picks off Sturgeon & Green while both are out amidst the ruins.Speaking of the ruins, that first set they beam down into was so piddly I was laughing my ass off. They had so many other outdoor sets that looked better than that one, so why not use them instead? Maybe it was a pickup shot, since we don't see it again later during the shootout.
