This is one of the three movies chopped up to make the inimitable Night Train to Terror, and it's must more entertaining in that version. Richard Moll is an atheist who's won the Nobel Prize for his book God is Dead, but his devout Catholic wife doesn't approve. An elderly Nazi hunter is convinced he's found the SS officer who murdered his family during WW2, but the guy still looks 30 and turns out to be Satan. It's all pretty boring up until the climax when the wife surgically removes Satan's heart and burns it. the movie uses real surgery footage, kek. There's no nudity and very little blood. Like I said, I think this is an actual Christian movie. The thing that struck me is how much of a chad Richard Moll was. Dude was a 6 foot 9 Shakespearean actor with great hair and the voice of Two-Face but got typecast as a bald sitcom goofball. Cameron Mitchell is top billed as a skeptical detective trying to help the Nazi hunter. There's much less Nazi stuff than I was expecting, honestly. The poster has nothing to do with the movie.

I (re)watched "The Prophecy" (1995). It's a proper movie filmed on location and with real sets and actors. Christopher Walken is great as fallen archangel. It's a comfy 1990s watch with the story about the second war of the angels in the foreground and the horror a little bit in the background. (Though there's blood from time to time, and a guy's heart gets ripped from his body and eaten more than once.) I liked it. Even though some guy complained about it on /hor/ a month or so back because of men kissing eachother. Well, they're sucking the out the blackest soul on earth through the mouth. (The blackest human soul that ever existed being that of a recently deceased US army colonel from the Korean war.)Anyway, comfy watch, great pictures, entertaining story, 7/10.

After (re)watching "The Prophecy" (1995), I watched "The Prophecy II" (1998) for the first time. Oh man. Did they even have a script for this one? It felt like they improvised on a two-page idea outline. Gone is the budget of the first movie, the actors are from the bargain bin. Hell, they cast a Chinese guy named Wong to play the main angel Daniel. Christopher Walken is in it, even though he was killed on a butte in the Arizona desert in the first movie and Lucifer ripped out and ate his heart. It doesn't matter, Walken is now under a Los Angeles car park where he's simply resurrected. (Btw. the Garden of Eden is also in Los Angeles, and it's an oilfield.)After seeing the first one, "The Prophecy II" was a disappointment. 3.5/10. No mouth-to-mouth this time, this one is about creating a Nephel (or what's the singular of Nephilim?), i.e. the child of an angel and a human woman.
