Just finished. It's like two movies stacked on top of each other, the first one is a fun af monster movie, then it gets a bit more sci-fi for the second one and loses a lot of its charm, imo. the aliens start talking and have names like J'Haur and M'laddokur and fucking shit. there's nothing I hate more than fucking apostrophied sci-fi names, jesus.[/spoiler.] I think if I saw this as a kid I would've fucking loved it. The girl aliens are hot, and one of them is Taylor Russell of all people. They're pushing the lady cop in the marketing but she's far from the main character, and probably my favorite "girlboss" (aka not useless) character ever. A lot of this is filler and kind of repetitive. This director can't keep a movie under two hours to save his life. Worst thing I can say about it is it ends on a cliffhanger, after three fucking hours. I would've guessed there was another hour to go before it stopped. audience was clearly confused it ended there. one guy had gone to the bathroom obviously expecting a whole nother act and came back and the credits were playing, kek. Some of the best chase scenes since Death Proof, though.
