Endless plotholes lol. It's an alright show, but it's obvious that it's only accidentally good in spite of the writer's best efforts to make Hal a villain. A shame because with a proper writing team it could have been good, but them not really thinking things through drags it down, E.g the dissonance with John stealing the ring from Hal after he tried (but failed, not really through any fault of his own) to save the whole town.
