Movie theater popcorn hits different. It is a snack designed to be eaten slowly, throughout the course of a movie. I've been to dine-in theaters that served up whole meals. I was typically done with the meal before the movie started, and then I had nothing to munch on during the movie. Popcorn is the most ingenious movie snack.
