Has anyone in this thread actually seen the movie?It has amazing reviews. People are saying it's great. The director is the Puss in Boots Last Wish director. But it still looks so fucking cringe. When a movie looks like this it's hard to tell of the good reviews are legitimate, or if they are "progressive critics"

I remember hearing commercials for this on Spotify (yes im a poor fag and dont have premium) and I only heard the audio from the movie. I imagined the characters looking like complete faggots and when I saw them it was worse than I could have imagined.

Even though it touches on basic plot beats that other Dreamworks or kids movie studios have done (twist villain, melodrama), it still does have some seriously good emotional moments, that’ll make you feel a little worm inside, some people are saying it’s one of the best animated movies this decade, not exactly a high bar to pass considering it’s been nothing but sequels that are shit for the most part, but it’s good, won’t blow your socks off but if you can get past the Reddit humor, it’s a good movie that’s fun

Basically it's made by adult animation lovers for other adult animation lovers, but in that you have these "deeper" themes hidden under a kid friendly fantasy coat and people who come out understanding these themes tend to really like them, but kids don't know or care about that stuff. Also the title is really boring and generic like Strange World.
