>there's already less October left than there was an hour ago
>>223506090I watched the Final Destination films and 3 is very schlocky, moreso than the first two, except for MEW who gives quite a believable and committed performance that's kind of amusingly out of sync with the basic YA actors in the rest of the cast and probably more than the film deserves. Even just from that you'd be able to tell she was the one who'd go on to be a notable actor.

Just finished. Wanted to set the Halloween tone before I jump into the pool of absolute crap I've got set for the rest of the month, but this wasn't as good as I'd heard. My boss, for instance, has made it part of his annual October rotation. This is TAME and silly and strictly for kids, it's one of those movies where the kids go up against the monsters using Nerf guns and the movie acts like it's cool. Four kids get locked in a Spirit Halloween store overnight on Halloween and a ghost played by Christopher Lloyd starts possessing all the fixtures and decorations trying to take over one of their bodies. The "rat-faced cunt" loli from The Mummy is the MC's little sister. His dad is the "Reggie Ledoux did this?" guy. Don't plan on rewatching. On to 100 movies with less than 100 watches.

I just realized that people that work exist just to entertain me. People on the news and screens are entertainers and wagies are just people to laugh at.
>>223506906>yep Tom Cruise surely is a loser compared to me! t. worlds biggest loser

thoughts?
>>223507018I always liked it.Great double feature with Fallen (1998)
>>223505919Is The Blackcoat’s Daughter worth seeing?Regal plays a new old horror flick every day and that’s the selection for 10/1. Never seen it, but I liked Longlegs and The Monkey, so Perkins has my interest.
>>223507057It's my favorite Oz Perkins movie.I haven't liked anything else he's done, but that one is a masterpiece.
>>223507018I'm not totally on board with it, but it's definitely a film.>>223507042Another very filmy film. I guess in the wake of Silence of the Lambs there was money in it.
>>223507057It's great, a film that grew in power in my mind significantly the more I thought about it.
>>223507018i love it more than most, i never saw any criticisms about it other than distaste. seems like there was zero studio support at all in it.
>>223507069I liked Longlegs, but I’ll concede that it’s not a particularly well written movie- It’s more of a vibes movie and I find it DOES excel at those vibes. The Monkey I thought was a very entertaining movie with a tongue firmly planted in its cheek. Really enjoyed it, even if it isn’t particularly anything special.I’ve deliberately avoided reading anything about it or watching the trailer, the only thing I know is that it’s a slow burn. So sounds like it’ll be that, a hotdog, medium popcorn, and small Diet Pepsi for lunch.
>>223507104I'm going tomorrow at noon, haven't seen it since it was new.
>>223507111Whatever Regal person who came up with the idea to do a constant flow of classic movies during the off season was a genius. It’s given me a lot of opportunity to see movies I either wasn’t born in time to catch or just overlooked upon initial release. BR2049 was peak in the cinema. I’m excited to double feature Digger IMAX and Bram Stoker’s Dracula on Saturday.
>>223507057>>223507069>>223507104I've seen all of Oz Perkins' films, and I like Longlegs a lot more than most do, and I say The Blackcoat's Daughter is far and away his best work.

>>223507580>Demon IslandRitual came out the same year. Tropical horror must have been in.
Excellent film, with a well-executed plot; beautifully shot and ingeniously grotesque.
Shots fired>Rivaling V/H/S: SCP is a new movie inspired by the SCP Foundation, this time from studio Neon, as confirmed by Deadline. While the projects might both be inspired by similar concepts, the outlet ensured that Neon’s movie will be “releasing its film and related materials under the Creative Commons license CC BY-SA, meaning that they will not permanently control the film. Other creators will be able to copy, share, screen, build on or adapt the film — even commercially — under the Creative Commons license, provided that they credit the SCP creators and filmmakers, release their own adaptations under the same license, and avoid claims to an exclusive distribution arrangement.”>They added, “Neon has been in communication the SCP Wiki team to ensure the film’s distribution does not deviate from their mission and licensing guidelines.”

>>223507745>>223507750It starts out as a love story wherein lovebirds are part of the romance plot, then turns into a horror story where hatebirds are part of the horror plot. The film explores the duality of bird, perhaps more than any other [film].
>>223507786out of that grid she was the only one giving off any personality. I've seen the entire franchise but honestly wouldn't recognize any of the Tomie actresses if I saw them walking down the street.best moment of the franchise: that little girl giving birth to Tomie's head in part 3.

Just finished. 100<100 #001. Many of you probably already know my goal is to watch 100 movies in October that have 100 views or less on letterboxd.Incomprehensible. Three groups of people are at a college after hours: two girls in love, a class on the decomposition of the body, and two girls and a guy doing a sexy photoshoot. They attempt to leave the building but an unbearable screeching sound prevents them from doing it, and it seems they've been displaced into another dimension. A black blob monster is stalking them from the walls. One of the girls has a magical journal and changes identities and faces halfway through. I have no idea what happened in this or what aliens have to do with anything. The girls are pretty and there's some nudity during the photoshoot segment. I can't imagine anyone here enjoying this but it was a perfect way for me to start the month. It's Swedish, everyone talks v e r y slowly, and 50% of the shots are lit by strobe light.trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTkyk9rbtHU

>>223508073that sounds like absolute hell anon, why do you do that to you're self
This movie was everything I needed, it fucking rocked my shit. The main heroine was really cute, the tone.was relentless and it had the funniest Jew joke I've heard in a movie >>223507057I think it's largely forgettable plotwise but the gut-punch swerve cemented it as one of my favorite horror flicks. I've seen all of his movies and I would say that, that and The Monkey as the most consistent films from his catalog. Keeper was also consistent consistently ass
>>223508238>>223508238I usually watch around 50 movies a month anyway, I just have to focus a bit harder than normal.
>>223508323yeah but those 50 movies are probably watchable. out of curiosity I checked how many views the most obscure flick I know has on letterboxd and its at 120. we're talking about an unwatchable no budget troma-esque movie from the early 00s made in a small town in an irrelevant country. yours are going to be worse than that!! stay strong friendo

>>223508345>obscure>unwatchable>no budget>irrelevantthat's the way I like 'em! thanks againJust finished. 100<100 #002. Proud to say I am the only watch on letterboxd for this one, kek. A Harvard educated psychologist (they emphasize this and have his diploma on his desk pointed at the camera) is also a new serial killer, triggered into action by seeing a mugger kill a woman. His first victim is his own wife, but most of the movie is him trapping an actor into taking the fall for his most recent victim, Elizabeth Carter. he contacts the actor, has him read a confession to the murder on camera as part of a non-existent movie, then when the guy gets arrested, it turns out the killer is also the police psychiatrist! lmfao. The main guy here gives a bizarre performance, pitching his voice way high and behaving like a side character from an Adam Sandler movie or something. Short as fuck, too, only 45 minutes. Feels like only the first half of a movie.trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMpk4sjTrDI

I am sorry to report that the new Charles Band book is terrible. It's a 100 pages, barely contains anything interesting and the middle section is just pictures. His first biography was really good but this one is one of the classic Charlie Band's cashgrabs

For this October marathon, I'll pick the films more randomly, but here are the TV shows and anime I'll be watching this month (horror or slightly related in theme or characters):TV Shows>Beasts (1976)>Shadows Of Fear>Garth Marenghi´s Darkplace>Monsters Inside The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan>MPD PsychoAnime>Chanto Suenai Kyuuketsuki-chan>Mairimashita! Iruma-kun S4>Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi>Youkai Gakkou no Sensei Hajimemashita!>Ankoku Shindenshou Takegami>Dead Mount Death Play>Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai>Let's Go Kaikigumi>Reiwa no Dara-san>Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu>Yofukashi no Uta
>>223509904Fucking awesome. I went to see Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Braindead triple feature on 35mm couple years back. Packed cinema. It was great.
3 first time watches in the books:>Finding RandyFF investigation movie with bad acting & dialog. Somehow though, it kind of worked for me. I wouldn't say it's good or even above average, but just an average movie that appealed to me.>Ice Cream Man (2026)Fuck the haters, I enjoyed it. It's above average and nice to see an almost entire cast of kids instead of casting a bunch of 20 year-olds to play them. Definitely took from a few movies (Body Snatchers, COTC, etc.) and reworked it. Having kids talk like real kids was nice too. >Portal To HellIs it a horror movie, I'm not sure. It's more like a comedy-drama passing itself off as a horror-comedy. Definitely a 50/50 movie as if the jokes & humor don't work for you, you'll absolutely hate it. Most will think it should be a short and not a full length movie and you're not entirely wrong.
thanks to the anons who recommeded the devil rides out. i usually don't like vintage horrors but this one really stood out, felt a bit ahead of its time with the deadpan humor and the beginning where he went from pleading for his friend to leave and then just straight out punching him out. any other recommendations where the protagonist knows what they are doing to combat evil? the intro felt almost like "you're next" but occult edition
>>2235059355th because I enjoyed the lesbian scenes and ending song. 11th because she absolutely nailed the look and would be perfect in a proper adaptation
>>223509673I wish that, immediately and irrevocably upon the granting of this wish, I legally and exclusively own a winning lottery ticket for the largest legally available jackpot lottery draw in my current country of residence, for which the winning numbers have not yet been drawn, with that ticket being valid, authentic, legitimately purchased, fully transferable and redeemable by me, and with the ticket guaranteeing me the entire advertised jackpot prize in cash after all taxes, fees, deductions and withholdings, with no other person or entity having any ownership, claim or entitlement to any portion of the prize, and with the winning numbers being those printed on my ticket. I further wish that this occurs without harming, defrauding, impoverishing or disadvantaging any person, and without violating any law, rule or regulation.

Now that its OCTOBER, Halloween 2018 vs. H20?
This was actually nice, and Agatha Christie stole the idea of "Ten Little Niggers" from it... sort of. And it's only 67 minutes, worth way to start October. Low 7/10
>>223510636>sort ofThough it runs just over an hour, nearly every element of the film's plot was replicated in Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians," including two servants engaged by an agency who follow the written instructions of their absent employer; an unseen host promising death to guests for their past misdeeds through an airwave device; a coward who offers to collude with the murderer in return for his life being spared; an isolated setting that disallows the guests from leaving; each death being executed in order of "unworthiness to live" through a missive of some kind; a thorough search of the premises that leads the characters to conclude that the killer is actually one of them; a total of ten characters of disparate ages, of which seven are male and three female; each surviving character divulging his or her guilty secret as the body count mounts; an uneasy romance between two of the characters who suspect each other despite their growing attraction; a male character managing the tension by drinking to excess, which seals his fate; a remainder of four characters, three male and one female; a sudden loss of electricity that prompts a shot in the dark, revealed to be a death once the lights go on; the two would-be lovers unraveling the solution to the mystery before they can be killed. Rather than a dining room centerpiece of China figurines, the film's characters come upon an ominous staircase of which each step is revealed to be a life-size coffin with the same amount of caskets as there are guests ("one for each of us..."). Whereas Christie kills off her victims over the course of a long weekend, the characters in this film die in the same evening, every time the clock strikes a new hour. Most strikingly, while the accusing host appears only once in the Christie version, he is an ongoing character in this version.I'll never read any Agatha Christie novel as before knowing she's such a plagiarist
>>223510636>Agatha Christie stole the idea of "Ten Little Niggers" from it... sort of.Wow. Wouldn't have thought so, but your movie is really older than Christie's story. The 10 little Indians btw. has become such a trope for so many horror movies. The last two ones I watched were "The Devil's Mouth" and "Tarot" (where they fucked it up completely and brought back two characters in the end that were seemingly killed before).
>>223510738I just feel she went to see the play version and readapted it to her interests for UK
This was quite enjoyable. Sad it took 10 years to Yoshihiro Nishimura make another film after it. Wish he had a better career after the 2010s. Low 7/10.
>>223508367>still creeps me outJust seeing the thumbnail is flaring my nerves up, I'm so glad I didn't watch this during my formative years growing up. Coincidentally it's like with the Blackcoat's Daughter where the movie has an oppressive eerie tone but the scares aren't too bad (though the bugs manipulating the corpse was creepy) until that one specific part near the end that really sticks with me. The wonders of sound design and character acting.

This wasn't that bad (Was bad, just not dreadful). The intro with the wig heads was cheap-funny. 5/10,
Watched Sorority Row (2009)Mediocre slasher/revenge flick like IKWYDLS but not nearly as good. Good looking chicks in it but a surprising lack of nudity. The original House On Sorority Row(1982) was better.
I just realized the Coca-Cola advertising in Halloween III. How did I not spot that before?

Revisited this after really liking it last year and it doesn't really hold up for most of it sadly. First segment was a fine enough start though was pretty gross out heavy, second one by the REC guy with the floating police officers was much better, third segment though was such abysmal dogshit, I don't know if I want to watch Buddy based on how bad it was. It just dragged That said the wrap around was fun even if it wasn't great storywise, and the Kidprint segment still was refreshingly grounded serial killer kino, easily one of the highlight segments of the series. And Home Haunt was a great finale, just a shame that V/H/S Halloween dragged on for longer than I remembered.
How brutal is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I'm a bit squeamish with extreme gore.
Hey comrades! It's October. I had a movie in mind to watch and forgot which one it was. Don't you hate it when that happens?

>>223513302no, kino though. freeway 2 has a sort of horror-ish reveal at the end but it's not anything like a horror movie.
>>223510439>teleports the ticket into your brain
>>223507946Dee Wallace is so hot, holy fuck
>>223507745>>223507805Started watching it and left it at the ppint where the anon posted the eye-less picture
>>223513225That's why you make a list anon
>>223513219Hello red letter media fag who doesn't watch movies unless they do a video about them
>>223513340Ok, thx.
>>223513404Well if you're so smart, YOU make a list!
it seems like it was really easy in the 80s when youre making a direct to video horror movie to have a girl take off her top and show her breasts, even if it doesn't directly serve the plot, because every cheap horror movie has at least one such scene
>>223513425I literally have a list
>>223513405I love watching movies anon, especially ones recommended by RLM since they seem to know their stuff. I've just never seen the original film. I remember watching the remake where they slap salt onto an open wound and I disliked it.
>>223512730Look at how harperfag turned out
>>223513427Is it REALLY a horror movie if you dont have a topless woman?
>>223513427the decade when the phrase "sex sells" became almost a mantra western world
>>223513468Well you know what? I am going to watch the new one with Hugh Grant. With the sunday school nerd girls
>>223512730> There's actually nothing wrong with one or even a few generations of inbreeding as long as neither of you have any significant genetic disordersI noticed another anon mentioned it already but seriously look at harperspammer and tell me inbreeding is a good thing. If you’re still unsure, go look at his letterboxd. He used to have his pictures up there though he might have removed them after he was doxxed.
>>223513510I've seen Heretic a few times. I really love that one. Great performances from all 3 of them. Enjoy!
>>223513302Never saw the second one, but Freeway is like Little Red Riding Hood. So it is horror imo.
>>223513551the problem with freeway 1 being horror is the perspective, it doesn't hold on either the victim or the killer at all. the second one is vaguely hansel and gretel i think? i forget.
>>223507668>>223512697I want to lick them Also. My first Halloween movies this season. REC, The Last of us and Resident Evil roll into oneWatching Amityville, the origin nowWhat did I think of it?
>>223513614You think it was good and aged well.
>>223513522Literally no one has been doxxed. Stop repeating lies that only exist in your stinky schizo jeet brain then kill yourself.
>>223513586>the second one is vaguely hansel and gretel i think?I'll have to check it out
>>223513627Harperfag got doxxed if I remember correctly. We all saw his profile.
>>223513672I saw it too, I don’t get why some anons are covering it up. Unless..my suspicion is correct. There are multiple lgbt anons here.
>>223512730ok, gr00mer
>>223513672>>223513721we know where you live and which third world shithole you came from
>>223513721> There are multiple lgbt anons here. There are at least 3 including harperfag and I think the other 2 are an actual couple.
>>223513474sorry zoomer, I can't comprehend a world where I wasn't torrenting every movie I'd ever heard of when I was a teenager
https://youtube.com/watch?v=tv4xE8ndHnwChecking out some older horror anthology series, this one has a pretty spooky intro
>>223513776His habitual ESL samefagging is the most obvious shit ever to everyone but himself kek.
>>223513939It should be embarrassed, but it is a lesser animal which lacks true sapience. It has the self awareness of a monkey but is less hygienic.
>>223513939I remember seeing your letterboxd here.
>>223513753if you have to groom your little sister into wanting to have loving intimate sex with you then you haven't been a good enough big brother honestly
>>223507632>Excellent film, with a well-executed plot; beautifully shot and ingeniously grotesque. It's retarded as fuck, looks like it was written and directed by feminazi morons.
>>223514113surely the poo age is before stone tools
>>223509320if I were you I'd simply up the view ceiling each week but, your prerogative
>>223514038>written and directed by feminazi moronslmao how the fuck did you come to that conclusion when by far the most hateful character in the movie is Rebekka? In fact the whole film consist on women mistreating other women.
Watched Boggy Creek II: And the Legend ContinuesNot as good as the original, though this one has a clear plot and cast while first one was more documentary style. Comfy bigfoot movie.
>>223510230would definitely replace some those anime comedies with like Dark Gathering or Boogiepop. enjoyed Kaikigumi and Dara-san this season, thought Kay was super mid. let me know how MPD Psycho isShadows of Fear looks super cozy
>>223514256Mostly because literally no one gives a single shit about sadistic female psychodrama bullshit.
>>223507805I've been working on a bird based thriller script that will redefine the genre but I can't afford a working stunt bird so it'll have to be my second or third film after I make it to the big leagues
>>223514256don't bother, he's our resident /pol/ troll and will just screech genderkike buzzwords at you. looks like he just woke up so expect a lot more tardrage to come
>>223514038>>223514256>In fact the whole film consist on women mistreating other women.Due to Patriarchy.
>>223514468Quick question, have you watched the movie?
How does it compare?
>>223514548Are you a leftist?
weird flick
>>223514567kek, had no idea this existed
>>223514597I accept your concession.
>>223514597Absolutely not. I think the themes of the movie can be interpreted differently if you are though.
>>223514567not the Anatar guy
not a bad listhttps://youtube.com/watch?v=iQ4LjcKZ56I
>>223514823They also added Salem's Lot, so I can finally watch that
>>223514904>added Salem's LotOriginal was good. Bit long, but still good.
>>223514989i love stephen king miniseries like nothing else, his movie adaptations are all shit by comparison
>>223506002that's HER statement you fucking moron. she could say there was a pink elephant named larry on the plane, would you believe that?she turned brad's children into trannies. she's a WEF stooge. she used to have a vial of billy bob thornton's blood on a necklace. angelina jolie is NOT a nice person. she turned his children against him, then claimed "abuse". funny how brad still gets work being such an evil person... while she takes her tranny kids to fashion events and parades them around like trophies
Any recent group of friends horrors?
This place is so overrun with leftists
I guess tomorrow in the morning I'll watch:>Frazier Park Recut>Vlog #13>Teenage Sex And Brown Spammer Movie
Thoughts on Supernatural? First time watching and it's pretty comfy so far.
>>223515378its several seasons of maximum comfy followed by some melodrama plot bullshit nobody cares about, then idk it came back and i didn't pick it back up. probably got a little better.
>>223515386Where should I leave off? S3, 4?
>>223515434you'll know but iirc it was s5 that was shit upon and then there's 6 or so more seasons after that. i cannot possibly imagine they kept up that level of bullshit so it must be better than s5 at some point.
>>223515378Series that are too long don’t interest me. There are definitely tons of gay subplots in there.
>>223515144Holy shit you're mad kek>angelina jolie's father, jon voight, is NOT a nice personftfy>funny how brad still gets work being such an evil personYeah, Pedowood loves evil people.
>>223508395I don't think you were ever a Hellraiser fan in the first place.
>>223509122It's forgettable. Bella Thorne can't act for shit.
>>223515496>Jon VoightYou are left leaning, I assume?
>>223509673No.>walks away
>>223508395reminder that Barker was also a teenage gigolo who fucked older rich women and therefore he's a fag who's gotten more pussy than you
>>223509904I kick ass for the Lord
>>223513219It has little on-screen violence, it's all tone and atmosphere. It feels violent without actually showing a lot of blood. Watch it.
>>223515434The original plan was five seasons and Season 5 comes to a satisfactory conclusion, as long as you ignore the last 30 seconds that tease the next season after it was renewed.
>>223515547Yawn
>>223515665That’s a yes. Carry on. Filtered.
>>223515711>>223515547>console wars mentality
is this seriously just a bot arguing with itself?
>>223515660>>223515458Still gives me 4-5 seasons of good shit, that's plenty. Especially since it's older and nobody was releasing dumbass 8-episode seasons.
>>223515434Watch til S5 and then decide how much you want to see after that, there's always entertainment to be had even if it's repetitive and a little budget as it goes on another ten seasons, the actors are good and there's usually a few gems in each season
>>223515547You don't need a left leaning person to tell you Voight is a piece of shit. He just does it himself.
>>22351578810 more season lmao. I am out.
>>223513529Ok watched. Yeah, it was a good one. Thought he was going somewhere lovecraftian with the "one true religion" thing.Do we have any group streamings? Love those.
>hey guys I liked {nonpolitical movie}>erm, are you a LEFTIST?just start tripfagging so I can filter your dumbass
>>223515855Boomer hate, huh. Yeah, you’re a leftist.
>I can't believe a 20 year old directed this
>>223515378Really good. First 5 seasons are kino then slowly gets worse season by season.
>>223515945First 5 seasons were for men probably and the next 10 were very roastie coded.
whoever is gonna bake next, can we get a true october blast off edition with a spooky thread theme, ty
Guys, stahp, YOU'RE TEARING ME APART! Horror always represents the most progressive aspects of cinema, we are supposed to be the hippies for crying out loud (col). And the comfiest of the comfy! Can someone shoop the Maximum Overdrive poster to say "Maximum Overcomfy"?
>>223515980it really should be return to oz, its been waiting patiently for so long
>>223515552>Oh so you want to walk away? >*Makes you walk 100x faster into a wall*That's about how logical the last two films are.
>>223515942I saw this, it wasn’t that good but wasn’t terrible or turn off worthy.
>>223515981>Can someone shoop the Maximum Overdrive poster to say "Maximum Overcomfy"?I'm sure an AI prompt could do that easily.
>>223515928I never brought up his age
>>223509673Just ignore him completely. No answer, no acknowledgement.
>>223515990Indeed
>>223510429That one is surprisingly good given it's one of the lower budget ones
