Cure (1997) dir. Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Pulse 2001)Pretty good. In the constellation of the ring, pulse, ju-on, and noroi this one fits and is perhaps the least supernatural of the movement and one of the earliest. It is perhaps the slowest and lowest energy of the group and as a consequence has the least amount of 'scaryness' witht eh strongest 'dreadful vibes.' I watched the restoration in dolbyvision and honestly its more beautiful than the ring. The film begins with a patient reading a excerpt from the (french) folk tale of Bluebeard. the story of bluebeard is about a woman who realized the man shes to marry has killed all his previous wives (a la Henry IIX) and of course this is paralleled in the string of murders where men are killing their lovers. The other notable real life lore in the film is that of Mesmer, who was a 19th century guy who was into animal magnetism transference, later called hypnosis. Carl Jung spoke at length on transference, and his books are among the posessions of the antagonist of this film. As is really central to this 90s-2000s movement of japanese horror, this film is concerned with the relationship of the gaikokujin and the naikokujin. Sakoku did not end until 1853 and the cultural exile the japanese felt following the two great wars had a really strong influence on japan as they were able to connect to the internet and gained access to translated works of western thought. Interestingly the film was renamed because of a cult attack, and the cult actually branches away from dharmic buddhism instead of any abrahamic faith. The film is also centrally interested in mental illness and the care fatigue of taking care of someone with amnesia. a recurring image is the turning off of a uselessly running dryer. the antagonist is amnesic as well, and the MC struggles to resist the temptation to give up on caring for his wife, and restrain his emotions around his suspect. the nail that sticks out gets hammered.

I'm lucky to have seen it as someone who had this technology as a part of my life at some point. Also, I had no idea Debbie Harry acted, let alone gets naked

>>223563852How's it end? I never even knew Shia was in some horror shit
>>223563936Shia was in Disturbia which was a modernized (mid 00s) take on Rear Window
>>223563936Basically Shia is putting away his toys with his black friend because he feels too old for kid shit and the toy literally comes to life as a young kid, it tries to kill Shia's friend because he's allergic to grape jelly and puts it in his sandwich, and tries to kill the female friend by pushing her off a ladder. His mom literally thinks he's going crazy and has him sent to a psychiatrist but the doll still fucks with him there. And it ends with Shia having a turn of heart because he had all these nostalgic memories with it and trying to accept the doll and it does a 180 and turns him into a doll as well and his mom finds out Shia wasn't crazy all along

>>223565537Nice. I thought Junk World was good too, though it takes a different tack to the first.
Watching Evil Dead 2 now, the first one is the only movie from the original series I've seen so im going to watch the entire series.
>>223565766excellent october film
>>223559967Night od the living Dummy actually is the peakest.
>>223559967If you thought Goosebumps was big when you grew up, imagine living in Central Ohio when it came out since R.L. Stine was from Columbus, OH.It was fucking HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Literally the Stephen King of Ohio.
>>223560052Dude the one where its revealed they're all dead and they all go to Hell is one of the kinoest and best horror endings ever. Bonus points we watched it in high school.
>>223561075Its really not bad. I thought is was a little better than okay. Its horribly MODERN but its still better than I thought it was going to be.The original is classic and kino, but the modern one is better than average.I saw this one before I saw the original because it was on tv one year.
>>223563885I think I might watch this this year. I need to see more James Woods movies.
>>223564189Pumpkinhead is shit.
>>223565889I saw the remake back in 2011, plan on watching the original soon.
>>223565934The original is 80s as fuck. Cheesy, predictable and more, but thats what makes it kino. But get ready for a certain scene near the end. Scared the fucking shit out of me.
>>223562556This movie was really cute
>knock knockWould you let them in?
>>223566555They might be vampires. So if they insist on coming in without being asked, I'm sure they're good.
A nocturnal emission forced me awake after 4 hours of sleep. Time for more horror.
>>223566555Girls like these are why dudes started putting roofies in their drinks and leaving before they wake up. Also yes.
Thanks for reccing Infirmary bros. Was comfy, not amazing, but comfy enough. Outside of a few musical audio stings it remained mostly actual simulated FF throughout.
>>223566555Oblivion Nord on the left.
>>223566555No, not nearly hot enough. These ones I would roll the red carpet out for >>223560873
woof woofwoof woof woof
>>223561075I liked it. Original is still the best. Poots is hot in it.
Another 3 movies for the autism sheet>Black BoxWell done airplane sci-fi horror-thriller with a bit of body snatchers thrown in. Some of the CGI isn't good, but don't care. Would recommend.>DoppelThe beginning has some incredibly realistic interactions and dialog IMO. As a FF movie, it does break a bit as there's music added at certain times and who the fuck released this thing? Anyway, I enjoyed this and the doppelganger stuff was basic, but good.>Out There Halloween Mega TapeGoddamn Reed Richmond. This takes place after WNUF and is actually funny at times. I'm still not sure I'd ever call these movies horror, just comedies.
>>223567573does it have a decent ending?
>>223567784Saving this one for Halloween night
meh, wasn't much of an horror movie... also 4chin working like shit today
Watched TrucksThis was ok. Not as good as Maximum Overdrive, but I think this was closer to the short story on which it was based. Could be wrong though, I read it decades ago. Ending was very predictable.
I want to propose a minute of silence for all those VHSrips from 80s and 90s unknown horror movies, that were wipped out from archive.org and will never come back. Thanks you.
>>223567709>Reed RichmondI know anon posted a link to the 3rd special months ago but I’m having trouble finding it in the archive, did anyone save it?
>>223552044>finally finishes downloading>it's dub only
Realistically, how would you finish off Sadako for good?

>>223568538I think it's one of the archive.org VHS ones I mention before that got ereased from the site... There is one version at ok.ru but it's in spanish Yet seems like the version i watched named as that, Terror House, has 2 censored scenes according to imdb, so you must search for the one named "Terror at Red Wolf Inn"

>>223568676Seems to have many names, the rights are among several companies across the years or something?
>>223568655>>223568683No problem. I'll post it again next thread just for those wanting it. I didn't like it myself, but the "history" (I have no clue if any of it is true or not) is a bit interesting.
This dub is fucking killing meApparently they lost the original audio and had to redub the whole movie and restore some parts in the early 2010s or somethinghttps://fawesome.tv/movies/10837381/the-basement-horror-anthology
>>223565364>>223565437>Why are there so many woke horror movies?!You're so close to getting it
lmao, the dialogue in this movie

>>223563852Intriguing. You don't happen to have a digital copy of the show do you?
>>223568932
I'll have whole conversations spanning multiple threads and then suddenly I wake up and I'm still laying in bed and had never checked /hor/ since the previous night. It's like my brain makes up false memories to keep me from getting up and starting the day before it's gotten all the rest it wants.
>>223568389fkin saved
>>223568944Just finished. 100<100 #005A college professor is doing experiments with his wife in "brain stimulation", and she explodes, leaving only a head which the professor keeps alive. The experiment also makes her superintelligent, and her disembodied head forces the professor to build an army of cyborg slaves that go around decapitating people. This is a kinda big production, they clearly had full run of this college it's set at and dozens of extras. They even got Sam Jones from Flash Gordon in a medium sized role. Its sense of humor is less obnoxious than is typical in these no budget affairs; my favorite scene had an AI that communicates via an ipad angrily insisting to some students that Frogman is real, lmao. The final girl kinda looks like Popcorn in Bed.trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeAX7ZOeSEk
Watched Tomb of LigeiaReally good Corman/Poe film. Excellent cast. Elizabeth Shepherd is gorgeous in this. But the real star of the film is the black kitty,
for me, it's the Jaws manga
I prefer watching bad horror movies so I don't feel bad when I multitask while watching them
>>223570542for me, it's the Mai Chan's Daily Life manga

What's a good horror movie for someone who doesn't get scared by horror anymore?
>>223571998Nobody gets scared by horror movies unless you're a literal child or the movie has a phobia of yours.
Watched Dracula. Visually it was great but the ending was kinda meh.
>>223571998Rush Hour 2
>>223571998you should watch horror movies because they're cool, not because they scare you
>>223572031I get scared by horror movies

>>223572031Depends on what you mean by scared. I've had scenes get my blood pumping/give a sense of dread.
>>223572061I do, but was kind of hoping /tv/ would have some more harrowing recommendations. I love horror but most horror is really boring.Jacobs ladder was probably the only movie that unnerved me due to the whole demon dry humping scene.
