It was just out of frame. Do you even watch films, brother?
Also, "Labyrinth" is a good film.

>>223577994It's cause Kubrick was easily satisfied and had low standards when filmmaking since he was a B-Movie director.
The Shining is one of my favorite movies, I watch it at least once a year. But there’s something that caught my eye this last rewatch, and that is the date on the photograph of Jack at the very end. In fine print, the photograph indicates the year to be 1921, but the film is littered with technology that wasn’t commercially available in 1921. The arcade machines, the airplane Halloran rides on, the color tv programs they watch, etc are all anachronistic with 1921. The Volkswagen Beetle they drive to the hotel is specifically a 1973 model, and Volkswagen Beetles weren’t even first produced until 1938. The “Here’s Johnny!” line makes no sense in 1921, Johnny Carson wasn’t even born until 1925.I did a little digging, and the snowcat they used in the film is a Snow Trac Thiokol Imp, which was not commercially available until 1977 (Snow Trac wasn’t even founded until 1957). It’s simply not possible for them to use that model in 1921.While the year is never explicitly established, the technology and dress of the characters conclusively preclude it from taking place in 1921. Kubrick is known for an eye for detail, so I’m surprised such a goof like that would make it to the final cut.
