>>223684421No.
>>223684421I'm a big fan of horror in my nudity films
>>223684421No. If a 0/10 movie is 0/10, sexy naked women don't make it 1/10.

Trick or Treat
>>223684462Basically the latter, still it has other worthwhile bits and it's directed by Wes Craven.
>>223684421Absolutely. Like good music can make a movie better. Nudity can do the same. Not much, but it's improved movies for me before. And if it's already a great movie, it's a nice bonus.

Just finished a day at the theater100<100 #012This is based of a book series called Monstrous Maud, I guess. It's a German/Spanish co-production and it's gimmick I guess is the character's get little line drawings of what they're thinking about over their heads. It's obnoxious. A monster obsessed high schooler gets transferred to a school for monsters, and thwarts a plot to turn all the townspeople into monsters and vice versa. It's a good natured but dumb and dull movie. I appreciate that it fully promotes the concept of romance in kids movies and several of the characters (all M/F) fall in love with each other. There's lots of soundalike pop songs, and it gets super embarrassing when you realize they set the entire climax to the characters dancing to Thriller and then couldn't afford it, lmfao
>>223684577rated NC-17 for extreme sexual content.this is in like 3k theaters this weekend and it still has less than 100 watches on letterboxd, lmao
>>223684603they came up with this 10/10 character ideal porno design for her and then only used it for ten minutes of the movie.
I watched other mommy. Why did normies hate it? I thought it was pretty solid. I can say the last half can be debatable but the movie overall is a good watch

>>223684654thanks i hate it
>>223684511yeah man, it's a Scream movie. or maybe like, ask her some questions and figure out what she likes yourself, y'know.
>Session 9Is this good
>>223684680it created the "somebody's running down a hallway and all the overhead lights are flicking off right behind them" trope, so decide based on that.
>>223684625they've all grown up thinking cynicism is the same as criticism so now whenever they enter a film they go in with expectations they shouldn't have ruining the experience
>>223684680Not bad but slow. I liked the ending. Watch if you have nothing else to watch

>>223684654Movie #3. I've never been a big fan of this, but I appreciate how relentlessly grim it is despite it's frou frou sparkly dark fantasy trappings (it's got fairies with leaves for wings, ffs.) I was just interested in seeing it in 3D, but I don't think I ever need to see it again.

Prince of Darkness kicks ass
>>223684511normies love that Hubie Halloween adam sandler crap. personally I wouldn't be trying to appease her though, that's kind of beta
>>223684721Movie #4. This has got maybe THE stupidest story of any major horror movie I can think of right now. It's Stephen King at his Stephen Kingiest. I like the movie's manic energy, but you have to do more than shut your brain off, you have to run it in reverse. Both this and Pan's Labyrinth are kinda upside down and backwards remakes of The Shining if you look at them from the right angle.
>>223684765simultaneously jcarp's best movie and also fucking terrible
>>223684760>I should watch every Linnea QuigleyYes, you should. Unfortunately Linnea doesn't show much in this. Brinke Stevens and Michelle Bauer do though.
Rewatched 28 Days Later on a shitty CRT after hearing that Part 3 of Years is on the "backburner" (aka probably cancelled). Image quality still looks rough, even S-video is probably too good a signal since you can still see the low quality of the cameras used at points, but I guess that's part of the film's visual identity for better or worse. Even though it's an indie film it never felt cheap, the way they shot around London's early hours to really make the setting feel isolated was brilliant. And of course the acting was great and it's still a perfect standalone story that holds up better on repeat viewings. Still can't help but feel bummed about the update on Part 3 though, even if both parts of 28 Years had their rough spots and were unnecessary sequels I still really liked them.>>223684421A little sleaze never hurts, but it can't make a terrible film better. Especially if it takes too long to show them titties.
>>223684765on my list... SOON Waiting to watch the 4k version because 1080 just isn't enough

>>223684982I absolutely loved it. but there are things it did intentionally that I think people here are going to misinterpret in a dire way. And speaking aesthetically, it's got a visual sense of what's spooky that I think lots of people are going to find goofy.
>>223684911Eh TCM is more greasy and gross than scary for a lot of people. I agree on the last point though.
>>223684945>>223684965

>>223685076>the best horror cameo ever put on filmvery interesting question. candidates:Wes Craven in ScreamHulk Hogan in Gremlins 2Roger Corman in Silence of the Lambs
>>223685076agreed on all of that. carpenter casts are always pretty good. or he is just such a good director that he can make even minor characters give memorable performances.usually has a lot of memorable faces too. like he casts for a certain look.
>>223685156hitchcock cameo'd himself in a lot of his movies but he's kind of bad at it.
>>223685183Hitchcock is probably the worst because he's in tons of his own movies, there's nothing special about it. All three of the ones I mentioned it are super memorable imo. I think Hulk wins it.

I watched "Jurassic World Dominion" (2022). It had all the stars in it from Jurassic World AND from Jurassic Park 30 fucking years earlier. Dinosaurs are now cheap and plentiful and they're fucking everywhere, in the sea, in the air, in the forest, in buildings, in the streets, in caves underground. So they're used every time to drag out the plot. Need to go from A to B? Nope, dinosaurs. Need to accomplish something? Nope, dinosaurs. Simply need to stretch out the runtime of the movie? Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs. The movie is a ridiculous 2 hours and 26 minutes long, but hey, on streaming more minutes mean more content. The plot is simple as always: The evil gene technology company that is responsible for dinosaurs being everywhere is somehow still allowed to operate and what's more they're given all the money, resources and the brightest minds in the world to work on their plan of completely annihilating mankind. But don't worry, there's 70+ year old stars from the first Jurassic Park movie AND there's Chris Pratt who will stretch out his hand and instantly tame any dinosaur. In the end, they all get to testify in front of the US Congress, and that makes it all good again -- even though the evil gene company is now Italian and of course not subject to US lawmakers. But the UN decides that dinosaurs shall live in harmony with humans, so that's what the dinosaurs do, and all is well. Until the next installment of Jurassic Something that is.I'm not even going to rate this. It's well made, it's adventurous, it's exciting, it's terrifying. I just didn't appreciate all the plot holes.

i thought this was going to be a cheesy 50s scifi/horror flick, but its actually good. that technicolor as well, lovely
>>223685597The sequels are worth watching too
>>223685573>god I wish that was meYou want to be a Jurassic Park film?
>>223685011It reminds me a lot of eldritch kino. The first half was really good, I can’t say much for the last half, the ending was a bit lackluster but it had a really strong start. It’s feels like the plot was heavily inspired by coraline
>>223685532>Lucifug
>>223685597Surprisingly creepy ending.

>>223685726I forgot to add on Nightmare on Elm Street 2, but to be fair, I mostly had it on mute in the background. I'm trying to catch up on the F13s in time for Crystal Lake, which is probably going to be ass, but oh well.

>>223685749The 1980's is my favorite. But I can't really think of any period piece horrors.
>>223685749Favorite: 1800s Victoria Underused: Roman legions and gladiators
>>223685746I've seen the first one (it was honestly terrible), but was never able to find the second. I think Sandra Ng is sexy.Alive of the Dead is going to be a much stranger movie than this, I'm think like a Ryan Trecartin zombie movie.

>>223685749There's hardly any medieval horror. But that time period is so depressing I can see why it doesn't have much of a counterbalance. Werwulf looks like a misery fest. Also I'd like to see an entertaining caveman horror where humans fight a killer neanderthal.

>>223685990The art style and story is amazing. Can’t say much for the movement mechanics, that filtered the fuck out of me. A movie adaption of it would be incredibly kino, it fits the horror vibe really well with the idea of the miracle and the penitent one
>>223686061He didn't have much screentime but he still gave a noticeably more convincing performance than everyone else. Guy is a good actor. He wasn't 6 years old in the movie, he was 20 something. What are some good sci-fi horror films other than The Thing, Alien, or other more well-known ones?
>>223685606It's funny how the depiction in Return Of The Fly ended up the iconic version of the original.>>223686735It's a very /x/ kind of movie.
>>223689450its been a million years since i played parasite eve, i barely remember what its about
>>223689473>>223686735Is it about satyrs?
>>223689450this was recommended to me on here ages ago and it's pretty fun. really nails the "spooky shit going on in a secret lab" thing
>kills 8000 people because your transexual boypussy wife does a 52% and khsIs japanese boypussy that good?I klno they are doing kabuki referencing with the female character being played by a girl, but he's fucking ugly for being "the most beatiful girl of the village" role, and the goddess dragon too.
Recommend me a psychedelic horror movie.
Any ancient Greek/Roman horror?
>>223689582most of the old harryhausen epics are spooky as fuckhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNifP9LA180

>>223689450Is Invasion of the Body Snatchers alien-tier known? Idk, but it's great, both the 50s and 70s version.Other than that not counting horror-comedies (like Dead Heat or Bad Taste) I'd say Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Split Second and maybe Hardware. Also the first segment of Memories (1995) is the only good anime ever made.
>>223689450Event Horizon is my personal favorite
>>223689544Altered States
>>223687708Not true, Invisible Man btfos Dracula like the other anon said and doesn't feel like a play. Same with Nosferatu
I forgot the Poltergeist family was named Freeling.
>>223684421It always improves it but it generally can't save a film. Sometimes it's crucial to a film though, as it is in the case of Jean Rollins' films.

How come Tubi has Poltergeist 2, 3, and the remake but not the original?
>>223691331The original costs real money to license.
>>223691184>>223691191I'm not one of those muh woke cry babies but seriously, turning Barbara into Lara Croft was just retarded. Shame because Tony Todd as Ben is ultrakino and he should have been the MC like in the first.

>>223691191>absolutely it is better except that very end.Facts. Retarded le subversion twist on the ending aside it's awesome, the director's cut is essential because it brightens up the picture, it was artificially darkened originally to be night when it was daylight for a lot of it.
>>223690895i dont know what this means
>>223690344IotBS is in that weird position where it was the most well-known entry in the genre for generations and then dropped off completely. Every child has a passing familiarity with it, but entirely through parodies on cartoons written by their elders.
>>223691823>. Retarded le subversion twistIt's only a "subversion" if you're medically retarded and think for some reason it would have exactly the same ending as the original despite all the other changes and also it being impossible.
>>223691844i hate the 70s one and i dont believe anyone could possibly like it. perhaps it merely snuffed out the original and died unloved.
