I believe "The Apple" is the last episode I caught during the H&I Marathon before I started tuning out, specifically so my future viewings could all be first time ones, for the rest of TOS at least. If it isn't, it's at least a long stint until the next ones.
When I first saw this I thought it was a pretty fun little idea, but after seeing "Return of the Archons" I think it spends too much time retreading the philosophical questions that episode raised instead of blazing a new path with the stuff where Kirk is struggling with his devotion to Duty in the face of a mission that didn't require such blind obedience. The moments where he commiserates over the bodies of Hendorff, Mallory, & Marple (but not Kaplan because the lightning strike made him a pile of dust), or where he's in such great shock over condemning the 400 men & women on the ship to their doom - those should've been the main focus over the People of Vaal learning "what is love". The finish with them starving Vaal to death was still great, since it's not too big on communication that means it couldn't be talked into killing itself like the last 2 times Kirk faced off a machine-god.

Why is this the thing that broke Rich Evans.
I'm not just shoehorning in an e-celeb because it's related to Star Trek in some abstract way. It's legitimately fascinating.

He completely tanked about 5 seasons of kurtzmantrek and just sat there dying on the inside and finding a way to give it the benefit of the doubt. What is so funny about this.

That as well, but I’m still watching through Enterprise. The Dominion War is arguably worse because Voyager was running at the same time and Earth and the Federation seem mostly unaffected whenever we see them. Was Barclay in SF when the Breen attacked? Did the Voyager crew lose any friends and family in the war (as opposed to the Maquis) and did they ever hear about it during their monthly communication? Who knows.

In post production they probably saw that the gun was pointed at her titties so they had the beam go a little lower.
Or the Romulans just design their guns to fire a little lower than aimed? They are standing so close together and the angle of the beam is already very sloping. Imagine what it does at greater ranges.

Pa’Nar syndrome is AIDS. You get it from performing an intimate act, and it’s concencrated among a small minority disliked by larger Vulcan society. T’Pol got it when she was raped (mind-melded) by a homo (Vulcan with emotion) and could lose her commission for it (like people who lost their jobs for having AIDS).
Also, this is the same episode when one of Phlox’s wives wants to fuck Tripp and give him Denobulan syphilis, kek.
>>223732974
“We din’t condone the intimate acts these people engage in” is as subtle as a sldegehammer to the face. Berman probably just looked the other way or the writers fought him for it because he didn’t allow an AIDS story on TNG.

How has /trek/ changed over the years?
>>
>>223734264
Not as active, not as conversational, not as interesting. There used to be a crosswalk of the vaginal and anal appearance of various alien females from Star Trek, but it's difficult to imagine something like that being created here now. 4chan has been infested with people who think every board is /b/ for a long time now, but more recently it has been infested with people who treat the website like a group text message, only able to type or read 140 characters or less, and obviously it's difficult to have the real conversations with people like that around. Does the Federation use money? Did the Tal Shiar know about Vreenak? What were Ro and Troi laughing about when they saw Riker? "k bro"

It's dead. Like Trek itself.

SFAnatics, our favorite Trek returns will an all new S02 March 2027:

Season 2 of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy follows our cadets into their second year aboard the USS Athena. There, their ideals of leadership, friendship, romance and morality are put to the test as they navigate budding rivalries, shaky diplomatic negotiations, a fiercely competitive schoolwide tournament, and the arrival of a mysterious new cadet whose existence raises questions that could have consequences far beyond the classroom.
