It's just bad. They are made by the same guy who did The Boys so the writing is just awful.
The gore is the only selling point because a different artist draws it. What usually happens is that you get a few panels of explicit gore, then you have 80% of the comic just be atheist redditor slowburn nothing of characters just going ''woah... we are like the real monsters'' and shit like killing one of the only survivors because he kicked a dog.
