P.good telling of the classic stories, could do without the progressive undertones.

>>223745204
>Any kino segments?
Without spoiling anything, the last segment is an entertaining rip-off of a cult film, and there's a quick stop-motion animation segment that's also interesting. The rest, not so good.
>>
>>223745140
Back in high school I had a group of buddies that would meet up Halloween weekends to watch a yearly horror movie marathon, we’d all show up with direct choices and everybody would take turns putting on different movies. All-nighters with the boys, good times. I put on Grave Encounters one year and everybody loved it. The scene where they finally unlock the front door and it just opens into another wing of the hospital is pure kino
>>
>>223745128
Back then, jump scares were fair.
>>
>>223745206
Yeah, then they could do VHS Halloween 3: seasons of the witch and drop the idea of a yearly anthology film and milk the story from the first 2 until the end of time

I watched both seasons back when they came out and loved it. It's a bit /wacky/ at times but that shouldn't be shocking if you're aware Vernon Chatman made it. I'm still bummed he never made a third season.

>I can't believe I never noticed the crazy noise score is BY TOBE. That takes the movie up to an 11/10, the music from this is super influential, and for the director to be responsible is incredibly uncommon.
I thought the same exact thing when I saw he co-scored it at the end. I never realized the music was *that* good in TCM, especially in the opening. Made me finally realize why Hooper's so highly regarded, like with Raimi after watching The Evil Dead.

Finally got around to watching There's Nothing Out There (1991). I think a lot of you would appreciate it, especially if you're into a lot of '80's slashers with partying teens. It pokes fun at all of the tropes, without ever really turning into a straight parody (save for one moment towards the end that made me chuckle). Also plenty of T&A if you're into that sorta thing.
