How is Channel Zero? The creepypasta was cool and all but it is like a page long and made into an entire season.
>>223765111It takes a while to get there, but the climax is definitely worth the wait
Third movie on tonight's triple feature (formerly double) is Twins of Evil because I happened to just now remember that webm of it I saw a bit back
okay, /hor/, it's about time you started thinking about it if you haven't already.....what are (You) dressing up as for HALLOWEEN (or halloween parties)??
video never lies, film does though
>>223765128They drop the actual storyline for the creepypastas pretty fast and just do a bunch of weird abstract shit happening. Which to be fair, follows creepypasta logic and aesthetic which I think works better than if they tried to make it realistic and grounded. I'd say it's definitely better than Ryan Murphy shows but's definitely the same kind of show.
Damn this is terribleI've no idea why I put it on my watchlist to begin with the director's filmography is almost entirely Christmas romances
>>223765181I downloaded it because I like Impractical Jokers, but I don't expect much. It's weird because I did read one of Murr's horror books and it wasn't bad at all, decent airport literature.
>>223761289I may be stupid but I couldnt understand the movie
Just finished. 100<100 #017From the director of Death Toilet, Amityville Death Toilet, and Amityville Backrooms. I mean, look at the poster, what do you expect this movie to be about? Well, it ain't. A mildly attractive latina milf is getting yapped at by everybody, not just men, but just won't respond to any of them. The characters aren't mansplaining to her, they're trying to have normal conversations, but she just won't engage and says nothing, frustrating them more and more. Finally she snaps and kills one of them, and THEN, after 45 minutes, we finally get the reveal that this is a Men remake. All the male characters are played by the director. There's no message or sense to the movie, it's just him trying to rip off Men and Repulsion, and boy does he fail. There's no way it took more than a weekend to make, because 95% of it is just two people in an apartment having an argument, lol. Kind of fascinatingly, uniquely bad. Do not watch under any circumstances.

>>223765642That's literally what the original book and the film adaptation are about yes. Mike Flanagan's whole gimmick is needing 20x the time the say the same thing because his target audience is morons who watch everything while distracted so you have to have the characters literally explain everything multiple times for the distracted audience.
So what's the damage?

I think it's kind of funny they decided Jason definitely should be a deformed little chud instead of just like mentally slow.
>>223765730That was my first instinct. It sounds like a serious drama dealing with issues of racism and animal abuse too probably. The idea of a horror about a racist dog harkens towards silly comedy.
>>223765764It's still good, it has criminally underrated cinematographer Bruce Surtees behind the camera which helps with the grounded bleak tone. But yeah it doesn't really have many horror elements it's just unpleasant.

The stars are not good at acting and they are very stiff. In terms of taking it is also not interesting to see.It may be better to do casting with a quality agency to get a star who can play the role naturally.Using big stars is very important to make these movies worth watching because usually they will bring a lively atmosphere in a movie with new stars. And try not to use the initial idea of a film with a similar title. That's my review of this film hopefully it can be useful for the next filming.

I finally watched Hokum, and I really fucking liked it. If Caveat wasn't so novel and genuine in its spooks, it would have been dethroned as my favorite of the three, as Hokum is definitely the most polished and realized film yet. It's essentially a "greatest hits" collection of McCarthy's style. You have a larger cast of characters like with Oddity, alongside a really creepy dread-inducing haunted building and tons of white lady jump scares, all tied into the folklore of the area like in Caveat.I felt more endeared to Ohm than the guy from Caveat and the lady from Oddity, because while he's an asshole, he's not willing to be a bad person like the other two. Helped that, rather than being a victim of circumstances, his critical character dilemma and trauma were self-inflicted. It's also the one movie that wrapped itself up well enough in a satisfying conclusion IMO.
Discovered this faux-news broadcast movie after hearing about it on a youtuber's list of "hidden gem found footage films". Starts out as a news report about three instances of asteroid sites being discovered in Wyoming, France and Mongolia, while the situation gradually escalates over the the course of the night. First the US government tries to block access to the Wyoming site while NASA never gives a straight answer, then they block all flights in and out of America, loud noises are heard coming from each meteor site and are disrupting communications then the president authorizes the use of nuclear missiles in order to take out an incoming asteroid, an entire town's population vanishes, and the reveal is that asteroids were originally intended as peaceful first contact from the ayyliens. But because the US government shot down their second asteroid message, the ayy lmaos had their feels hurt and decided to declare the whole thing as an act of war, sending an additional 3 asteroids to fuck over the most powerful world governments, Russia, China and America. Was too much of a babby to have known this film existed but I liked it. Not too knowledgeable about this subgenre of FF films but I liked it more than something like the WNUF Halloween Special since the pace wasn't broken up with fake ads. A mostly dry watch but there's something oddly comfy about the pace of reporting and the actors did a good job of making the situation feel natural I felt.
>>223774914I enjoyed Megan Is Missing
>>223774905Goddamn
Watching Don’t Move right now and it seems woke.
Did he really deserve it?Sure he was a bit of a dick, but that's no excuse.
>>223775218actually never heard of that one myself but it sounds cool. you see Ghostwatch already?
>>223775365Oddly enough, no. I'll definitely take some time out to watch it, since that one seems closer to a full on horror film while Without Warning has more dread than outright terror.
Watched the original Poltergeist for the first time all the way through after years of absorbing it through cultural osmosis. It ultimately works because JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson are both incredibly likeable and believable as the parents. Also just seeing a normal, California suburbs of the 80's makes me ache something fierce for how things used to be.
>>223774704>viggo is squatting and talking about nonsense for 2 hoursYes this was indeed true. I couldn't believe in a movie with such subject matter Seydoux only got naked once
>>223774905She just screams trailer trash.
>>223773306>doesn't include Rosemary's Baby, the most famous conspiracy horror film of all timeWhat retard made this?
>>223775347sort of but he wasn't the only bad guy, if either one of them had worked together everything would have been fine.
>>223775218>comfy>ffSay no more senpai
>>223775189Glad you enjoyed it anon. It wasn't perfect, but the conquistador wraparound tying into the characters growth was absolute movie magic to me. Like Spielbergian.
>>223775431yeah it's still more in the domain of suggestion and creepiness but if you're looking for more of that newscast feeling it should hit the spot. always liked this Dawn of the Dead remake featurette for a similar feeling toohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReKOswBe8is
Putting hot women into your movies makes them better

>>223775666Thank you Satan, very cool
anybody have any horror anime recommendations? I think I've seen all the good ones but I'm always hopeful of some obscure one out there I haven't heard of.
>>223775762Yamishibai
>>223775762I'm assuming you've seen Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku?
>>223775762There's really not many good ones and I say that as a fan of anime not just someone who's like "Perfect Blue is the only anime i can stomach" or whatever. Outside of the ones you'd get by googling "best horror anime" maybe try Lily C.A.T. which is pretty neat.
>>223775762Watashi Wa Spooky-Chan
>>223775721truecrime isn't hor
>>223775721Personally I think of all the famous serial killers, even among guys like Gacy and Ramirez, BTK might be the biggest fag out of all of them. That should make for a good watch.
>>223775820There's a lot of really pathetic ones. Israel Keys for example for having such maticulous planning ended up being a wimpy numetal listening chud who cried about "muh dark flames of darkness in my soul shall carry the burden in this dark world of darkness" or whatever giga cringe shit he was writing like he never developed past 13. I mean you already have to be a huge fag to be a murderer but he really takes the cake.
>>223775814it is, it's a genre aimed for women, and women are the most scary thing>>223775820It's all about the forensic woman who has been interviewing him. I do have another for Gacy next for later on the month. I watched one about Billy Milligan before and was good enough and directed by Olivier Megaton
>>223775762Doomed Megalopolis, I recommend the live action films, too. Read up on Taira no Masakado and Shinto esoteric occultism before watching, though.
Absolutely jawdropping. Really gets under your skin.
>>223775568I'm a bit surprised by how much I liked it, normally I'm burned by high-profile horror movies with a lot of hype. More than likely it's because it's just him returning to the basics but with a lot more budget >the conquistador wraparound tying into the characters growth was absolute movie magic to me. Like Spielbergian.I enjoyed that touch as well, things returning full circle never fail to get a bit of emotion out of me. Hokum is a movie ass movie

>>223776050It has some issues but it's worth a watch if you're interested, especially if you've liked any of McCarthy's other work.

>>223775991Based
>>223775991Me and my wife thought it was basically the directors dissertation on horror and was pretty boring. Gillian is still hot
>>223765107Fatal Frame is a very mediocre movie, but it has a ton of cute girls and the ending with the group photo is like something out of an art house film. Love it. I'm downloading a Korean horror film from 2024 called Noise. I saw a clip last night and it had a great premise. The deaf Korean girl was crazy sexy too.

now that you are all talking about Lily Cat, there is this quite unknown ova that follows the sci-fi horror target, and it has plenty of things to care about too: Hell Target>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBWdgR7gvAg (I saw it in a better version but was long time ago and just youtube for a quick visual reference)In fact, as same as Lily CAT, both could work really well as hollywood live-action film.
>>223765127>horror-comediesCan anybody name any of these that are actually funny and scary? I like Shaun of the Dead but wouldn't call it scary

>>223773331I watched The Innocents because of your suggestion. A solid old ghost story but I always feel like those are incredibly similar in terms of plot and scares. It really elevated itself with the sets and acting though. But what killed the boy? I was filtered by the end
