What's the deal with this shit being R rated when it's not even very bloody or adult at all?
and why the fuck are the kids still singing songs and spouting idiotic platitudes once they go off script and realize they're in danger?
It continued to be so childish that it made me ask who is this for?

The Kids show aesthetic let them make this movie really cheap but they didn't have to make everything look so fake and shitty.
Why'd his demon form have to look like the fakest shit ever? and why did all the fighting and action have to look so poorly acted and contrived?

The Matrix is sci-fi action. The Godfather is crime drama. The Other Guys is I haven't seen it core. The Lord of the Rings is a fantasy series. Die Hard is an action film.
>>
>>223782155
Man this movie was underwhelming. Felt like a 30 minutes short stretched thin that does nothing new or interesting with the concept

So you agree movies can have more than one genre then. Also LOTR is narratively an adventure book series but in a fantasy setting and Die Hard is both action and thriller.

>Halloween 3D was to be the sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween II, written by Todd Farmer and directed by Patrick Lussier. The story would follow the idea that Laurie killed Dr. Loomis and was hallucinating when she thought it was Michael Myers. Michael would disappear only to reappear and take off with Laurie by his side as a murder pair. The two would leave to find their mother’s corpse and dig her out of the ground. A group of teenagers stumble upon them and all are killed except for one who is named Amy. A standoff ensues with Sheriff Brackett being killed by Laurie and Michael Myers being hurdled in a burning Ambulance into a dam. Michael Myers is presumed dead. Then jumping ahead in the story, Laurie is housed with Amy in the same psychiatric hospital. Michael returns for Laurie and a blood bath ensues inside the J. Burton Psychiatric Hospital. This would ultimately lead to a final standoff at a giant festival where Michael plants a bomb in his stomach from his mother’s urn and it explodes. It wounds Laurie and she tells Michael she is not like him leading to him stabbing her in a final attempt before death. She dies and then Michael dies as well while Amy watches in horror.
>>
>>223784481
>The second script was written by Stef Hutchinson shortly after the first script fell through and follows the theatrical ending of Halloween II. It opens at the Nichols home in Langdon, Illinois a few days before Halloween. The son is plagued by terrifying nightmares about the boogeyman and is attacked by him in his bedroom. The mother wakes up to the screams to find her husband dead beside her and she runs into Michael, and he kills her. The story then jumps ahead to Halloween day where we see a retired Brackett laying flowers at Laurie’s grave. It has been 3 years since that dreadful night when both Loomis and Laurie died. Michael Myers’s body was never recovered. The new sheriff Hall checks on Brackett only to find his house littered with cases related to Michael Myers. Brackett’s niece Alice walks in to find the two talking. Jumping ahead in the story we find that Michael Myers crashes the homecoming game where both his niece Alice and her best friend Cassie are. They are chased back to the school where Brackett runs to after Alice tips him off as to what is going on. A showdown occurs where Brackett must choose between saving Cassie or killing Michael. He chooses to save her, and Michael disappears into the night. A confused Brackett wondering why Michael didn’t kill him goes back home only to find a severed head on the Nichols porch which is right across the street from his house. He then enters the home to see the name Alice written in blood on the wall. Alice was Michael Myers’s true obsession and only made it seem like he was after Brackett’s niece. He then tries to phone Alice’s home to no answer. The movie then pans to her slaughtered parents and Alice burning at the stake. Michael Myers watches with his head titled as she burns.

God, Lori Cohen/Ashley Laurence makes literally anything watchable. With that being said, Hellraiser 2 is a solid follow-up that feels very consistent in tone + quality with the original, almost as if they shot both films back-to-back; I can see why some fans claim it's the best film in the series. I'm gonna stop here to avoid any possible disappointment.
Fun fact: the scene where Pinhead says "I remember" while looking at his old self is the direct inspiration for Satan's voice on South Park. Completely forgot about that until the scene came up lol. I had a similar realization after hearing the Jerry Was a Race Car Driver sample in TCM 2 the other day.
>>

It leans much more into the visuals and effects, while the writing, acting, and general themes are worse. Depending on what you value, you'll think 2 is better or worse. I think it's worse (but still very entertaining).
>>
Also, I completely forgot the main blonde actress is a wild-as-hell drunk IRL and got put on the UK sex offenders list after crashing out at a pub not long ago kek:
>Instead of ordering a drink, Boorman responded with a smile when asked for her order, then proceeded to strip naked in front of other patrons.
>She climbed onto the bar counter, laid down, and began drinking directly from the beer taps, causing alarm among witnesses and staff.
>While lying on the bar, she took a man's hands and placed them on her bare chest, engaging in sexual assault. She then sprayed his face with a draught juice gun.
>Moving to the pub’s dining area, she attempted to pull down the same man's trousers in a sexual manner, escalating the incident further.

>>
>>223789778
I agree with you, they should really either let both of them go or not give a shit and torture both. Especially since Chatterer’s backstory might be that he was just a kid playing with the box.
But I guess if I had to play devil’s advocate, I’d say that Kirsty wanted to solve the box of her own volition. She had no interest in bdsm demons and had no idea what would happen, but she still solved it because she wanted to solve it, and that’s enough. The mute girl, who seems to have been lobotomized, was told to solve it by the person who really wanted to open the door. I guess that gets you off the hook.

It's just a taseful loophole to avoid including pedoshit in the labyrinths depravities, since it's depravities are inherently sexual. That being said there is zero reason the cenobites would just leave her alone. Marquis De Sade didn't. Are they really going to let themselves be outdone by a Frenchman?

But if he really also thought that consciousness lived in every cell of the body like he said before, that plan kind of contradicts that idea. Who knows.

The moment where we the audience have all of our illusions and naivete shattered, like the MC herself, will always stick with me as a jarring, disturbing scene. Have you seen Persona (1966)? Not horror, but I've seen it classified as psychological horror. I've always felt like Mulholland Drive is very loosely the same film in some ways. Lynch even copied some of the shots, and the face blending scene. I think you also have to be aware you could pause Persona at any second and it would be a perfect photography to fully appreciate it.
>>
>>223793304
It was the decade for pointless cash grab remakes of all the classics of the 70s and 80s except now with more gore and jumpscares because that's le scarier apparently oh and let's remake every foreign kino but worse since Americans couldn't produce any new original classics besides Saw which was done by two Australians only because they couldn't get it made within their own country back then.

Endless low effort sequels unfortunately goes back all the way to Universal and Hammer's monster movies but I have to give bonus points for Saw actually having one continuous overarching story arc connecting all 7 movies with each other with the same actors and characters that actually has a somewhat definitive and satisfying conclusion by the end of it all, even the cinematography and style largely remained consistent despite shifting directors and Whannell exiting as writer post-Saw 3. It really sucks that Saw quickly turned into glorified slashers but at least they were still entertaining in a guilty pleasure kind of way though I rarely do a rewatch marathon and just stick to the first one.

It's a mess of a film that's also pretty fun. Basic plot beats and character motives make no sense. But the SFX are complete kino.

it's mostly a handful of nerds who have questionable taste, halloween 3 is fine though. there's far worse movies being reevaluated, even on this board

I liked it as a weird exploration adventure movie with some scary elements. But as an actual horror movie it was weak.
