>Halloween 3D was to be the sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween II, written by Todd Farmer and directed by Patrick Lussier. The story would follow the idea that Laurie killed Dr. Loomis and was hallucinating when she thought it was Michael Myers. Michael would disappear only to reappear and take off with Laurie by his side as a murder pair. The two would leave to find their mother’s corpse and dig her out of the ground. A group of teenagers stumble upon them and all are killed except for one who is named Amy. A standoff ensues with Sheriff Brackett being killed by Laurie and Michael Myers being hurdled in a burning Ambulance into a dam. Michael Myers is presumed dead. Then jumping ahead in the story, Laurie is housed with Amy in the same psychiatric hospital. Michael returns for Laurie and a blood bath ensues inside the J. Burton Psychiatric Hospital. This would ultimately lead to a final standoff at a giant festival where Michael plants a bomb in his stomach from his mother’s urn and it explodes. It wounds Laurie and she tells Michael she is not like him leading to him stabbing her in a final attempt before death. She dies and then Michael dies as well while Amy watches in horror.
>>223784481>The second script was written by Stef Hutchinson shortly after the first script fell through and follows the theatrical ending of Halloween II. It opens at the Nichols home in Langdon, Illinois a few days before Halloween. The son is plagued by terrifying nightmares about the boogeyman and is attacked by him in his bedroom. The mother wakes up to the screams to find her husband dead beside her and she runs into Michael, and he kills her. The story then jumps ahead to Halloween day where we see a retired Brackett laying flowers at Laurie’s grave. It has been 3 years since that dreadful night when both Loomis and Laurie died. Michael Myers’s body was never recovered. The new sheriff Hall checks on Brackett only to find his house littered with cases related to Michael Myers. Brackett’s niece Alice walks in to find the two talking. Jumping ahead in the story we find that Michael Myers crashes the homecoming game where both his niece Alice and her best friend Cassie are. They are chased back to the school where Brackett runs to after Alice tips him off as to what is going on. A showdown occurs where Brackett must choose between saving Cassie or killing Michael. He chooses to save her, and Michael disappears into the night. A confused Brackett wondering why Michael didn’t kill him goes back home only to find a severed head on the Nichols porch which is right across the street from his house. He then enters the home to see the name Alice written in blood on the wall. Alice was Michael Myers’s true obsession and only made it seem like he was after Brackett’s niece. He then tries to phone Alice’s home to no answer. The movie then pans to her slaughtered parents and Alice burning at the stake. Michael Myers watches with his head titled as she burns.

God, Lori Cohen/Ashley Laurence makes literally anything watchable. With that being said, Hellraiser 2 is a solid follow-up that feels very consistent in tone + quality with the original, almost as if they shot both films back-to-back; I can see why some fans claim it's the best film in the series. I'm gonna stop here to avoid any possible disappointment.Fun fact: the scene where Pinhead says "I remember" while looking at his old self is the direct inspiration for Satan's voice on South Park. Completely forgot about that until the scene came up lol. I had a similar realization after hearing the Jerry Was a Race Car Driver sample in TCM 2 the other day.
>>223789485I need to rewatch the first two hellraiser movies. I think I remember the first one being better, but the 2nd one had some cool parts didn't they show the leviathan? fuck, I can't remember, been so long since I last watched it

Depending on what you value, you'll think 2 is better or worse. I think it's worse (but still very entertaining).
Also, I completely forgot the main blonde actress is a wild-as-hell drunk IRL and got put on the UK sex offenders list after crashing out at a pub not long ago kek:>Instead of ordering a drink, Boorman responded with a smile when asked for her order, then proceeded to strip naked in front of other patrons.>She climbed onto the bar counter, laid down, and began drinking directly from the beer taps, causing alarm among witnesses and staff.>While lying on the bar, she took a man's hands and placed them on her bare chest, engaging in sexual assault. She then sprayed his face with a draught juice gun.>Moving to the pub’s dining area, she attempted to pull down the same man's trousers in a sexual manner, escalating the incident further.GIWTWM>>223789521They're both solid 7s imo, the first Hellraiser is more iconic but the second one explores its lore further by taking them to the Leviathan in Hell.>>223789569Kek>>223789656I knew she had a cameo in one of the later films but I wasn't sure which.

>>223789778I agree with you, they should really either let both of them go or not give a shit and torture both. Especially since Chatterer’s backstory might be that he was just a kid playing with the box. But I guess if I had to play devil’s advocate, I’d say that Kirsty wanted to solve the box of her own volition. She had no interest in bdsm demons and had no idea what would happen, but she still solved it because she wanted to solve it, and that’s enough. The mute girl, who seems to have been lobotomized, was told to solve it by the person who really wanted to open the door. I guess that gets you off the hook.

Saw this and thought it'd be all cute and Halloweeny but lol,, why are these grown-ass MILF vampires throwing themselves at the little kids like that? shit's wild
>>223782294>Really, Wade? On my birthday?

Movies that genuinely scared me were perfect blue, mulholland drive, and the others.
>>223791489which others?

Part II is so kino
>>223791282Boomers are weirdly oversexualized but in only creepy ways except the italians who have an adult woman fetish unironically
>>223791489i've been scared by a lot of movies. even stupid totally telegraphed jumpscares scare the shit out of me, and it locks me out of watching more horror movies
>>223791653>adult women fetishI think I have this
>>223791679Same except it makes me want to watch them even more.I crave the fear.
>>223784619Certainly not, would have been more honest if it was just a full featured found footage
>>223790168God I really want more DtV J-horror getting deluxe releases on bluray.
>>223791679it's okay to be scared, but you have to push through. that's what true bravery is>>223791709you guys are lucky i don't even get scared playing horror games anymore
I just watched Alone in the Dark. The death of the obese pedophile really made me laugh, the way it cut to the daughter right before he died. He just wanted to molest her so bad.
Welp time for me to finally watch this shit, you weebs keep fellating it and by god it sounds insane from the description so "when in Rome" I suppose. Time to get on my own knees and open my mouth.
>>223791765If you like its style, also watch The Adventures of Electric Rod Boy by the same director
>>223791765Report back please, I've been thinking of watching it too, but Japanese movies are always overrated. At least the ones I've seen.
>>223791282im gonna need to see some screenshots of these milfpires anon
>>223791702You should probably watch more Italian horror then. Maybe Torso
>>223791785>If you like its style, also watch The Adventures of Electric Rod Boy by the same directorIf he ends up liking Tetsuo, he needs to watch Tetsuo 2 Body Hammer, 964 Pinocchio and Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts.
>>223791787>I've been thinking of watching it too, but Japanese movies are always overrated. At least the ones I've seen.I think Shinya Tsukamoto's Hiruko the Goblin is a good entry point, very similar vibes to Evil Dead 2.

>>223791957Was Herbert West unironically autistic?
>>223791984I honestly don't think so because he effortlessly preys on Dan's insecurities and trauma to manipulate him which is something an autistic person couldn't fathom
>>223791984no, he just wanted to save the world from death
>>223791957>>223791944i just saved this to my watch later like there's any chance of me watching it ever
>>223792011No, I think that's what Dan wanted. West was literally waiting for people to die so he could play with their corpses.
>>223784315
Best sex scene in all of horror? I'm in the mood to be scared and aroused. I quite like Mulholland Drive's but there's better.
>>223792061the re-animator fluid was herbert's invention, his dream was to defeat death, and just because he was enthusiastic about experimenting with it doesn't mean his end goal changed
>>223792065I watched this about a week ago for the first time. What's a stomach pounder?
>>223792116His idea of defeating death was reanimating dead tissue. Dan actually wanted people to live.
>>223791543Give me your candy bag
>>223792084Society
Halloween 3 has the least sexy sex scene ever committed to celluloid. Prove me wrong.
>>223792135yeah I saw this movie as a kid, way too young, and the sex scene kind of traumatized me
>>223792149Yeah I bet
>>223792129yeah, in herbert's mind those things are one and the same
>>223783101It was a good movie
>>223792201I mean he is a mad scientist so I guess you're right. I guess we can assume he really actually thought that Meg, like, as the person she was, could live again just by bringing her heart back in a scrap parts body and wasn't just saying that to get Dan to go along with it. But if he really also thought that consciousness lived in every cell of the body like he said before, that plan kind of contradicts that idea. Who knows.
sadly i've run out of lesbian murder /hor/, so these will have to do>>223792084whatever movie had the tentacle rape - Possession I think. Cemetery Man isn't really scary but has a good sex scene. Jennifer's Body makeout scene.

Someone help me I.D. a horror flick i watched some time around 2018 and forgot about and haven't been able to find since>American. indie production. from 2017 or 2018>protagonist is a brunette guy with a thick beard like pic related. He's some sort of a bureaucrat working in healthcare iirc>plot has to do with a hospital of some sort. has a tall bald white guy in a hospital gown as a "monster">one scene had a top down shot from a drone>humorless brooding tone
>>223787511>>223787559>>223787593i saw that
just watched Buddy, was one of the most soulful movies i’ve watched in a while. you can tell everyone involved had fun making the sets and costumes
>>223782973I haven't watched any yet, but I started seeing "articles" saying it was the best Friday the 13th media ever and I immediately said to myself uh oh.Any ddl links anywhere? I don't feel like streaming or torrenting.
>>223790126the only things she does in this movie>throw a kettle of boiling water on the butler>punch a 10 year old boyso much for her holding a gun with a bandolier in all the promos lol. they thought all their final girl had to do was look pretty and scream. she didn't even earn all the blood on her in the end. such a retarded movie. i doubt the second one is any better.
>>223782155Anything good on hbo max? Specifically monster or supernatural, slashers bore me because I cant self insert when I got a CCW
>>223793224is re-animator or hbo max? if so then that.
>>223793248Re-Animator is on Tubi
Horror releases are so slow I'm thinking about subscribing to shudder, what the fuck is happening, what a dog shit halloween so far
Why was the 2000s such a shitty decade for horror? Pic related, Saw II is actually okay but it's the most 2000s horror movie.
>>223793224>I cant self insert when I got a CCWwatch Evil Dead Burn
>>223784709Please tell me that's not a body double
>>223791489>perfect blueThe only thing scary about this film is women being whores.
>>223791489>mulholland drivesurprised anyone would find it scary, I think most just find it confusing.
>>223793513The moment where we the audience have all of our illusions and naivete shattered, like the MC herself, will always stick with me as a jarring, disturbing scene. The surrealism aside from that is more uncanny than disturbing. I wouldn't call it a horror movie still. Even something like Blue Velvet is more of an erotic psychological thriller. Inland Empire is spooky face core.
>>223793258even better
>>223793513>surprised anyone would find it scaryI mean it has an insane 5m build up to a jumpscare. And Lynch is smart, once he's given you that, you're on edge knowing that the film might want to fuck you up again.
>>223793294you've already watched every horror movie ever made?
VHS Mixtape was garbage
>>223792252>>223792400I can imagine you've already seen Martyrs.
>>223793551Have you seen Persona (1966)? Not horror, but I've seen it classified as psychological horror. I've always felt like Mulholland Drive is very loosely the same film in some ways. Lynch even copied some of the shots, and the face blending scene. I think you also have to be aware you could pause Persona at any second and it would be a perfect photography to fully appreciate it.
>>223793304It was the decade for pointless cash grab remakes of all the classics of the 70s and 80s except now with more gore and jumpscares because that's le scarier apparently oh and let's remake every foreign kino but worse since Americans couldn't produce any new original classics besides Saw which was done by two Australians only because they couldn't get it made within their own country back then. Endless low effort sequels unfortunately goes back all the way to Universal and Hammer's monster movies but I have to give bonus points for Saw actually having one continuous overarching story arc connecting all 7 movies with each other with the same actors and characters that actually has a somewhat definitive and satisfying conclusion by the end of it all, even the cinematography and style largely remained consistent despite shifting directors and Whannell exiting as writer post-Saw 3. It really sucks that Saw quickly turned into glorified slashers but at least they were still entertaining in a guilty pleasure kind of way though I rarely do a rewatch marathon and just stick to the first one.
Everyone already forgot the monkey one? Looks like Buddy won that battle
>>223793783I think it was more consistent, but Buddy had better highlights. Also it had a harder to remember name. They're both strangely uncreative.

Not a big fan of the Halloween III critical re-evaluation.
>>223794596it's mostly a handful of nerds who have questionable taste, halloween 3 is fine though. there's far worse movies being reevaluated, even on this board
>>223784619I liked it as a weird exploration adventure movie with some scary elements. But as an actual horror movie it was weak.
>>223782671Not nearly corpulent enough
