2026 is shaping up to be one of the greatest years of all time for film
>>223916576Eh.
It’s true. Don’t forget this kino.
>>223916576both shit
>Project Hail Marry >Backrooms >Obsession >The Odyssey (saw it twice, once in a Dolby Atmos theater, another in 70mm IMAX) >Digger >You Can See Everything >Going to see Primetime tomorrow Most movies ive seen in theaters since before COVID. I gotta say it feels like the movies are back.
>>223917987Same I’ve seen more movies in theatres this year than I have in a decade and a half. The backening is truly upon us.
>>223917987Go back.
>>223917987Those pics are the sort i'd expect my middle aged female co-worker to choose
>>223918179*picks
You forgot the best film of the year.
>>223918212ive always loved claymation, but the story does seem more childish than i would prefer.
>>223918235The film is much more mature than I suspect your perception is. Unless you standard for not-childish is The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb or something. The mother and 6/7ish son next to me left after the first scene.
>>223918266interesting, any idea why they might of left?
Replace odyssey with the digger and ill agree
>>223918280Nude 12 year old boy throws himself off the roof in front of his mother was probably why.
>>223916576Only jeets like nolanslop.
>>223917987of fuck i forgot micheal as wellhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekzNASrCwMk
>>223917987Most of those are solid, I bet History of Concrete could be added but I haven't seen it yet
>>223916576Odyssey was an incredible experience. Best movie I ever saw. The cyclops scene had cyclops scene had me literally shaking and my theater burst out into applause when the credits rolled for a good five minute ovation. Nolan is a true genius and visionary.
>>223916576both of these were highly over rated. You can see everything was a massive meh compared to the rehearsal.>>223917671this was a fucking masterpiece compared to the other two mentioned above. Crazy impressive.
>>223916576>2026 is shaping up to be one of the greatest years of all time for film
The odyssey was so fucking good and im tired of pretending its not
>>223917671This was boring as shit I turned it off half an hour in.
>>223916576Yiu can see everything was boring and served no purpose. Lol isn't this awkward doesn't support a whole movie. I like afielders previous work but people giving this tripe a pass because of who he is, is nauseating.
>>223919902Agreed
>>223919787You should give it another try. There's a whole lot more to the story you're missing.
>>223916576Wut? No.
>>223918073Where, to the theater? Yeah, I will.
>>223919982It's just boring awkward pranking irl held together by a dumb and simple storyline
>>223920134That's the thing - it's not really about the real life pranking - that's mostly because they improv most of their scenes, but the full story is worth sticking through it. Also maybe watching a bit of the show might help - their whole shtick is having zany schemes to play at the Rivoli. It's heartwarming fun each time with some good cinematography and clever storytelling.
>>223919902>Lol isn't this awkwardwas this really your takeaway?
>>223916576I have no plans to ever see Odyssey. I have no use for a badly told version of Homer's epic.
>>223918457>could be an interesting film about concrete>instead it's a le subversive deconstruction of le american dream or whateverFuck off with this shit
>>223920335Wow, you're so cultured, anon. And is that Orson Welles? Do you identify with him? With his fat fucking belly perhaps?
Minus Zero
>>223919702It wasn't.All the boomers I know that watched it found it "meh".The greatest weapons of Nolanslop is to trick retards into thinking they are watching something deep. And it even failed on that regard.
Threads like these remind me the internet is becoming majority non-white and zoomer.
>Nirvana - Great>Odyssey - ok>Backrooms - ok>Obsession - ok>Camp Miasma - bad>Primetime - ok>Spiderman - dull>Hope - bad>Tony - ok>YCSE - Greatstill want to see wild horse nine and digger
>>223916576Oh look, it's more (thinly veiled) Nathan Fielder (((shilling)))
>>223920363Cultured enough that I don't need to see any more of Nolan's hackey output in this lifetime.
>>223920404>Hope - badYeah, you're a confirmed shitslurper pleb.
>>223920404Hope is precisely the only thing worth something in that list (well, at least the first half of the movie).
Bros, when will we have those 2 kinos on torrent?
>>223920363>"I will never be a woman"That's all you had to say
I already mentioned it on /tv/ 1 year ago, multiple times. But A24 has been really positive for the industry. One of the few companies creating KINOS on a regular basis. If you're a film connaisseur and an A24 enjoyer, give me a (you) and tell me your favourite A24 kinos.
>>223920496Why would I have to say the obviously undeniable? You suck at this.
>no mention of coyote vs acmeDo you retards not watch kino
>>223920497Yeah. This year's The Drama was great, and Elden Ring sounds very promising.
>>223920350You should give How To With John Wilson a chance.
>>223920575>>223920497The Invite was also decent. And PrimeTV and You can see everything seem to be great.
>>223918212>>223918235>design, build, frame, block, and direct the entire movie in 3D animation software>3D print all the models>take pictures of them to match your 3D version exactly>digitally remove any seams or artifacts of your 3D printing>movie looks exactly like a 3D animationWhat's the point?
For me this year, it is Hope and Digger that I loved. YCSE is good, and there are a few others I enjoyed, but yeah.
>>223920497I think my favorite A24s have been Heretic and Dream Scenario
Nathan Fielder reminds me of Colbert. They both made some things I truly loved, now what they make is mediocre or worse. The difference is Fielder is now more mediocre and boring(lol awkward silence is so brilliant), while Colbert is more insufferable(I get it, Trump bad, I don't even disagree just stop ducking off democrats and make jokes in an interesting entertaining way). But Fielders past production comes no where near as good as the Cobert Report. Also he is still milking the sam shtick, lol im so awkward isn't that quirky and thought provoking.
>>223920497Red Rocket for me
>>223916576No.
>>223918457>>223920350>>223920585I saw History of Concrete It's pretty good. It's basically a two hour episode of How To though and unfortunately it's brutally mogged by You Can See Everything, which obviously shares some DNA. The concrete thing is just a frame work and he ends up chasing little side stories that he encounters but ultimately it focuses in on a successless aging rocker who's girlfriend suddenly die If you don't like the style of How To there's nothing there for you. But it's not a subversive deconstruction of anything really. It's the cinematic equivalent of a dog chasing cars.
>>223920443No, you>>223920475Hope has two halves
>>223920497apparently they gave Fielder a blank check for YCSE and explicitly told him that there was no pressure to come up with a movie if there wasnt a story there
>>223916576Pic not related, I assume. >>223917987>Project Hail Marry Mediocre flick. >Backrooms Pozzed trash >Obsession Overhyped trash>The OdysseyOverrated overhyped trash >Digger Nobody saw this>You Can See Everything Wokeslop>PrimetimeA24 reddit trash
>>223920757reddit spacing
>>223917987>6.5/10 is the new 10 out of 10lol lmao even
>>223920667I give Colbert more of a pass than Fielder, playing the straight man to heighten the awkwardness is not as impressive as the character Colbert did.
>>223920774Post a 10 out of 10.
>>223920497Some of my favourites>The Ironclaw>The VVitch>Lighthouse>The Whale>Red Rocket>The Florida Project>Aftersun>American Honey>Midsommar>Uncut GemsI think I've enjoyed most A24 movies except The Materialists and Everything Everywhere All At Once.
>>223917987How are you people real
>>223921299Not a single good movie here
>>223920497The film industry has gotten worse since A24 became popular
>>223916576It’s shaping up to be one of the greatest years of all time, but not for film. The greatest years for film were the 80s and 90s. Not one single year. That’s like saying what’s the greatest year for people to be born.
>>223921038rockyany other simple questions that you need answering
>>223921420LMAO
>>223921415Based 2026 is the greatest year ever-er

>>223920575>Elden Ring sounds very promisingKill yourself.
I wish Ludwig wasn't wasted on such hollywood slop, he is incredibly talented.
>>223921456It's barely above average, nigga.
>>223921506how long do you intend to keep up the charade
I LOVE A24. SIMPLE AS. INSULT ME ALL YOU WANT, I DON'T CARE.
>>223920152If you say so. It just wasn't interesting or compelling at all to me, it's basically viral youtube content type stuff and I'm bored of that.
>>223921519No idea how you can shit on modern movies while considering cheap drivel like Rocky a 10/10. It's probably a retarded nostalgia thing.
>>223921333>>223921342>>223921371Don't you have a wall to slam your ugly faces into? It's not as if it could hurt your necrotic brains.
>>223920757>WokeslopCan we please ban people for using such empty words? We'd be rid of the majority of worthless posters in no time.
>>223916576>>223917987fucking embarrassing lmao
>>223918457>>223920350>one of the most awaited releases on PTPwhat's up with this documentary
It was so good, that I forgot that Project Hail Mary came out.
Middest year in film since 2018.
>>223917671quirk chungus ehhh

>>223917987For me it's:>Her Private Hell>Barrio Triste>The Samurai and The Prisoner>Digger>Project Hail MaryStill have:>Wildwood>Godzilla Minus Zero>Wild Horse 9>Dun3Shit I don't care about:>Odyssey>Backrooms (sucked)>You Can See Everything >Camp Miasma
>>223918327Because jeeta are brainwashed to believe that jewish Nolan movies are good
>>223920284That's not my take away. But that is the crutch the movie relies on. It doesn't work for a movie, especially one that long.
>>223920152>they improv most of their scenesspare me
>>223916576Odyssey was really mediocre. If Nolan's name wasn't attached to it, nobody would give a shit.
>>223916576>already make one documentary about Holmes>make a dramatic series about holmes>yet another new documentary about Elizabeth HolmesLiterally shes not that interesting. People creaming themselves over the new films is just puzzling at this point. Did they just not know about her before so it's all new? and NO I will not be watching it because it looks awful and its not interesting
>>223923976i find her less interesting than the fact that she put on a fake deep voice that was so stupid only the most serious people in the world could have possibly been fooled by it, including mad dog mattis et al. its just too funny. but beyond that shes just another dog-brained retard that some man needs to babysit to keep the rest of us safe
