Finally watched it this weekend. It was pretty good. There were some hokey and hacky moments that felt like studio meddling, and the whole conspiracy against Norman was like some scooby doo bullshit, but it was obvious the filmmakers hearts were in the right place and wanted to make it work. The recreations of the motel and house were absolutely marvelous too. Also, Meg Tilly owes me sex.

I watched Alien, Aliens, and Alien3 on Halloween.

>Alien
Actual horror picture in space, the acidic blood is treated as the largest issue since they can't effectively kill it without breaching the hull. Loved the interiors and the creature still looks good.
>Aliens
It's closer to an action film, the Space Marines are fun and Bill Paxton steals every scene he is in. I didn't like the half assed excuse for not letting them shoot the xenos but it's cool the CO was 100% down to nuke the planet from orbit and call it a day.
>Alien 3
I watched the assembly cut but I enjoyed it for the most part. Unfortunately the creature is almost always green screen and it looks terrible each time. The premise though is a lot cooler. It's a penal colony of all men who are murderers and rapists and thieves so of course they are all English. They also lack weapons because it is a prison. Having to kill an alien with basically nothing was interesting.

I'm done with my spooktober watch, this year I didn't really watch much but at least got to watch a good amount
>Bodycam
>Stickman Hollow
>In Our Blood
>Hokum
>Ghost in the Cell
>Return of the Living Dead 1 to 5
>Obsession
>VHS Mixtape
>Infirmary
>Weapons
>Fall 2
>Evil Dead Burn
>Onslaught
>Dolly
>Resident Evil 2026
I have a really hard time picking the worst one here, but I think I will have to give it to In Our Blood, I don't think it can even count as a horror movie, even the presentation of the plottwist is done very low effort, one hour and a half for a plottwist done very badly.
For the best, Ghost in the Cell, only "flaw" I could name is that it wasn't longer, I really wanted to see more crazy deaths.

False.
> But that’s nothing compared to the whammy that Night of the Living Dead lays on us regarding Ben and Cooper. We like Ben. He’s smart, he’s courageous, he’s a man of action, and when he explains himself, it makes good sense. Plus, he’s black, and particularly in 1968, that was a big deal. If you’re an egalitarian, especially a late-60’s liberal, seeing such an upstanding character played by a black man pushes your buttons. (For that matter, it also pushes your buttons if you’re a white racist, but we’re talking about a whole other set of buttons now.) Cooper, on the other hand, is a dick. He’s a coward, a bully, and a self-righteous pig, and when he makes his case, it all comes out as noise and bluster. (But note that Cooper is not a bigot. In fact, the issue of Ben’s race never once comes up in the movie itself, despite the fact that to make Cooper a racist would be the easiest, most obvious way to make us dislike him. I admire anybody who has the balls to forego the easy and the obvious-- that takes an uncommon measure of confidence in oneself and one’s creative vision-- and if I wore hats, mine would be going off to George Romero here.) The thing is, though, that Cooper is right and Ben is wrong. If everybody had listened to Cooper, and hidden down in the basement, they would have had, at most, a single zombie to deal with (Karen), and everyone would almost certainly have lived to see the next day. (Whether they’d have been safe from the trigger-happy posse is another matter...) But instead, they did what you or I probably would have done; they listened to Ben, and as a direct consequence, every single one of them died hideously. Even Ben.

In my opinion all 5 movies share the same DNA with how they handle the silliness, but 4 was definitely the one I didn't like as much, calling it too silly would be an understatement, the script was just really bad all around, the nerdy girl was really hot though, after a certain point that was my only drive to finish it. About 5, actually I liked it, more than 2 and 3, if you ignore the established in previous movies and watch it as a kind of spin off I think is a solid movie.
>>
>>224095935
Cooper is not a sympathetic character in any way and the author’s if-they-had-just-listened-to-Cooper angle is reaching.

Arcade(1993), this movie starts surprisingly promising as a horror flick with the mom's suicide and the general directing but once they show the inside of the Tron-like gameworld, it starts fucking sucking. The promotional art on Tubi was false advertising but Megan Ward is hot enough for this to not to be a complete waste of time.

i think he is a sympathetic character in some ways. he cares about his wife and daughter. he's not evil. everything he did was just to protect his family. he even does try and help ben a few different times, it's just that his cowardice almost gets ben killed and that brings all the tension to a head. but he is admirable for putting his pride aside to help the group even though he'd rather hide in the basement.

Flat chests are great. Tits can be great.
Nothing about that has to do anything with faces, unless maybe you only look at morbid obesity, which causes both huge ugly and often deforemed tits and bloated faces. But on the other side of the coin you get anorexia causing extremely flat and/or deflated breasts and skeletal faces.
I guess that both of these might count as creature horror under the right circumstances?

The first one is a real movie, but be warned it's slow j-drama/horror.
The next lot are all lower budget made for tv style and a real toss up of quality.
All that way to Tomie: Unlimited which is a bit of a reboot and also kino with lots of SFX.
You could safely watch the first one and Unlimited. There's no continuity between any of them.

Imagine if Miu Nakamura started doing porn in 2011 instead of 2017. We lost so many prime years, it's tragic.

surprising she didn't do more films. I guess the money ran out and porn seemed like a good option.
she was in a Koji one called Teketeke 2, I'll have to hunt that down.

How come so many Jap actresses end up doing porn? Even the original Misa actress from the Eko Eko Azarak films did porn

I'm guessing because they were all doing lewd idol photoshoots from a young age. and then nude books when older which seems popular.
Chiaki was probably a big enough star she didn't need to.

Was surprised by how good they actually were, I would recommend. The monster design is pretty cool. I think I like the 2nd one more just for the opening alone.

Psycho II is so underrated. It's h-h-hard not to get a crush on Meg Tilly too upon first viewing. G-great movie.

Caught this at the theater. It's kind of like a Vietnamese Knives Out, which is a terrible concept. Title is Karaoke Murder.

Why even bother with this when there's only one Amityville movie that is actually good (the first one)?
