Cosmic Princess Kaguya! (超かぐや姫! aka Chou Kaguya-hime!) released on Netflix January 22nd, 2026. This day marked the first day in history that a feature length original story yuri animated movie was brought into the world. >Epilogue MV:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=356MRZ6P5h0Paste with links to the>Light Novel adaptation>Manga Adaptation>Official Guidebook: Beyond the Happy Ending>Various music videos>Trivia and analyses collected by fans>Fanfic recommendationshttps://rentry.org/9izs3ag5
We probably don't need regular threads, but the movie is still pretty new and as long as the manga and Light Novel are still being translated we got something to discuss at least. In other new:https://x.com/Cho_KaguyaHime/status/2019380490713837928Apparently the movie will get one week limited time cinema release in Japan. https://x.com/ku__koma/status/2018886810496344394Saniro will have 4 Kaguya themed concerts in VR chat.https://x.com/Cho_KaguyaHime/status/2019380735870697734A special notebook with illustrations by the staff will be sold for a limited time. It's themed like the movie's epilogue scrapbook.
They are releasing more merch as time goes on.>making a design where Kaguya specifcally laughs at RokaWhat did they mean by this?
>>4525120One of them is male anon.
>>4525121Ok, but how do you know? And why be so vague about it? Are you saying one of them is using a female avatar, but is male in real life?
>>4525122>ボイチェンネカマおじさん美少女を公言するライバー。You can check it from guidebook.
I think it's a really cool detail that dog girl Otako has actually been a Kaguya/Iro-P fan since the very beginning. She was there during their very first event and she is getting ultra hyped when Iro-P takes off her fox costume and even more hyped in the ray MV when Iroha actually does a dance choreography on stream. Not to mention crying on kaguya's graduation concert.
>>4525123Oh so the apple girl is doing babaniku? They really do include all kinds of Vtuber culture...
>>4525123So I had the right idea about using a female avatar. Deleted my post. Thanks for pointing it out.
Hahaha, you thought we had exhausted all details? Not by a longshot!Yachiyo's eyes actuallly look like Mount Fuji in several shots in the movie. If you know the tale of the Bamboo Cutter, you know the reference.
Here is a translation of Yachiyo's 2chan chat from the flashback. She really was a proper channer...
Anyone got any idea what the random flying magical train at the end of the movie was about?
>>4522655>Iroha's comment about Kaguya's marriage proposal not being legal is made in 2030, it's possible that it is legal by 2040.Very optimistic to believe Japs will legalize gay marriage in 14 years, but it is science-FICTION after all.
>>4525118If only that booklet wasn't going to be some impossible to get in-store-only item that ends up selling out everywhere anyway.>>4525119The acrylic character stands are at least edited full body poses but almost all of the other merch is just lazy screengrabs so far. That image was only half of the purikura-style scene and they had other much better screengrabs they could have taken during the montage that would have made for a better option. I'm convinced that the companies they hire to make these types of generic merch don't really know what people want to see because they always do stuff like this.>>4525136Just a shot of tsukuyomi, it isn't unexpected that it would have flying moon themed trains as a mode of transport. I haven't heard anything that connects it as an easter egg to some part of the story.
>>4525143>it isn't unexpected that it would have flying moon themed trains as a mode of transportDidn't seem like that was a thing in what we saw of the city at least. They had fish themed blimps tho. Though maybe if you log in you take the space train to Tsukuyomi, but nah login brings you to the torii gate.
>gets drunk with her old school friends after finishing her wifebot project>somehow ends up bringing them home while getting frisky>android wife's red eyes start glowing with thermal vision
>>4525143Most merch for all series is definitely super lazyI dont like merch without a use in general. Gimme a book or the OST at high quality or a blu-ray disc, but I dont know why I should buy pins or acrylic stands or nendroids or whatever. It's just garbage that's gonna pile up (kinda like kaguya's stuff in Iroha's appartment)
>>4525164It's every otaku's responsibility to accumulate enough junk that their parents have to bag it all up to be put out for the trash when anon dies before them.
>>4525166Excuse me, I'm taking all that junk including the inevitable KaguIro figures to the grave.
I have to buy a new mattress soon and I'm terrified of some rando seeing all the crap on my walls. I might actually tell him to just drop it in the hallway and I'll take it from there.
>>4525118>Copying or reproducing this work is prohibitedIf they didn't make it a theater exclusive I wouldn't feel so compelled to scan every page and post it. Already in a cold sweat over the bidding wars I'm going to engage in to get one.
>>4525126>Deleted my post.how the fuck do you delete a post?
>>4525217Click the checkbox on your post then click the delete button after a minute.
>>4525207Better version of the same image by YukikoFeel like every yuri mangaka have watched this.
>>4525220
>>4525220>>4525221Makes sense, they started in a room for two, though they later moved into a house for two.
>>4525119People have pointed out that it's likely Roka will be the one doing the bridal makeup for Iroha and Kaguya when they get married.
https://x.com/i/status/2019576778009043038
>>4525214Yeah someone's gonna do it. It's absolutely unreasonable to gate content behind something like this. It's not like they don't know the scans will be up day 1, but they have to pretend to care.>>4525217If you realize you fucked up within like 15 minutes of making the post you can still delete it by checking the box on your post and pressing the delete button in the bottom right of the thread.Thankfully anon pointed out my mistake quickly.
>>4525223I assume by that point Roka will have gotten her own girlfriend and gotten over Iroha, so it's fine.
>>4525124I love our biased supportive doggo
Ahah, the French
>>4525300I hate that this is tempting me to buy an overpriced study app just for this.
>>4525309The heck kind of game is it? With a name like Gogh I expected it to be an art game.
>>4525115Can someone give me a link to the manga raws (or is it available on bookwalker?) and tell me where to get a high quality movie rip or torrent so I can add them to the paste? I don't personally need them but it's something people could find useful.
>>4525310https://store.steampowered.com/app/3213850/gogh_Focus_with_Your_Avatar/Even after checking it out I still don't really get it. Seems to be a glorified timer/to-do-list app with music? But there is a pet/companion feature and they didnt make InuDOGE or Fushi options. They are just plushs you can collect. Are they stupid?
>>4525313It was probably the only collab that they could arrange in such a short amount of time
>>4525315Seems the app got a Miku collab just before this, so apparently Gogh can pull some strings. It's also highly rated which surprises me. So the flow from Miku to CPK is kinda natural. Especially because Iroha is the exact type who would use this kind of app...
>>4525313>>4525310From the looks of it, it's a "study with me" game? Seems like you make an avatar and a room to have someone to study with. Similar to those vlogs and study lofi music videos you see on YouTube. I guess if you need help being productive for the next 10 years in trying to build an android body for your wife, this can help?
I'll get the silly app if I'm allowed to have both of them in the same room.
The Guidebook is getting a reprint after it was sold out on amazon.>>4525220>>4525221What yuri artists other than Yukiko confirmed to have watched it? And I dont mean xitter artists, I mean actual mangaka/webcomic artists.
>>4525319You would need to find someone else who uses the other avatar and joins your room.
Gorgeous af
>>4525321Booo. They should have just done Iroha and had Kaguya as an accessory. Then include Yachiyo as the vtuber on the laptop screen.
>>4525127Are you sure? Just looks like standard eye gradient coloring to me.
>>4525147Three types of NTR in a single fanfic. Congrats anon.
>>4525118>not airing the movie in cinemas on Valentine's daywhat a blunder
>>4525311The 1st vol of the manga isn't out until the 10th, someone will certainly post them when they are up. LN and guidebook are the ones that came out last week.>>4525320Minakata Sunao, Takashima Hiromi, Ononaka Akihiro, Yukiko, Sometime, probably a bunch of others that haven't posted about it yet. I probably missed a few obvious ones and I've been looking at it for almost two weeks now and I know I remember a few others had posted but I can't remember who they were. You can bet money that most yuri authors will watch this soon if they haven't already.>>4525325It is extremely obvious once you see it. Look at the bottom of her eye and there is a sloped mountain with a white flat top. Then go look up a picture of mt fuji. Sadly fanartists are missing that detail too often and it stands out so much once you know it is supposed to be there.
https://x.com/i/status/2019576784573067415
>>4525395Kuji merch is the one thing I'm not going to whale on. Total waste of money every time I do it. Unless the A tier prize is godly
I just finished MTLing the novel and there’s this part that feels unsettling to me. Is she implying that her father was suicidal / depressed?I wonder what this world looked like to you, Father.I don't know anything about him. We only spent a few years together, and in my memories, he's always smiling, always putting his heart into helping someone. He never once showed me an angry, sad, or pained expression.Sometimes I think. For my father, who was too kind, this world must not have been a very pleasant place. My father died in an accident. But that was just the way the dice had fallen, and in reality… I’d thought about things like that before, but now, no one would ever know the truth. Perhaps my mother knew everything. But whatever she was carrying, she would take it to her grave. What were you feeling? Why did you go somewhere no one’s words could reach you, leaving Mother and me behind?
>>4525124>the hip shakesHow did our Iroha become so shameless.
>>4525401>jiyuu da!It stood out to me in the MV too but I figure she is at her most happy and free now that she is secure in a shared love with kaguya.
>>4525400Considering that Iroha admitted herself to being suicidal to Yachiyo and the fact that mental illness is hereditary they might not be far from the case.
>>4525320I thought Mikami Teren's yapping about it was kinda funny. The guidebook writer even commented under her twit. The number of yurifags among the production team must be pretty high.
>>4525118>In other new:>https://x.com/Cho_KaguyaHime/status/2019380490713837928>Apparently the movie will get one week limited time cinema release in Japan. They really don't hide how gay this is, picking those lines for the trailer.
>>4525406A bit late to hide it by now. The original trailers were a lot leas obvious about it though.
>>4525405Do you have her tweet about it in your history by chance? Going through someone's xitter history is a pain in the ass.
>>4525404Mental illness ia absolutely not alwaya hereditary. That's just a couple of very specific mental illnesses and only at a certain probability. We know why Iroha was suicidal. She was pushed to her mental limit by her circumstances.
>>4525361>The 1st volume isnt outBut clearly the scanlators got their hands on chapter 1-3, so there has to be a source...
>>4525439They publish free chapters of almost every manga to their web reader to draw in readers. Looks like 2 and 3 will be pulled down in 2 weeks. It is not guaranteed that 4 and on will be given free chapter period for their release but it isn't impossible.https://comic-walker.com/detail/KC_008281_S?episodeType=first
>>4525445Thanks anonette!>tags: Shounen>no yuri tagGoddammit.
>>4525361Wow the only one of that whole list I saw was Sometime. Also for those who don't recognize mangaka by name like us authists:>Minakata Sunao = Roll Over and Die>Takashima Hiromi = Kase-san series>Ononaka Akihiro = MahoAko (aka trash)>Yukiko = A Room For Two (Futaribeya)>Sometime = Hero-san and Former General-san>Mikami Teren = WataNare
>>4525452>authists.......you know what? I will take the W on this one. Typos into miracles.
>>4525395>>4525396For us unenlightened, what is this merch supposed to be?
Yo anons want some CPK themed shot glasses? Take a shot every time someone says something gay in the movie. Die of liver failure https://x.com/p_animestore/status/2019606991748964483/photo/1
>>4525457It is literally real life gacha. You buy 1 lottery ticket and get 1 random item. They weight the prizes so the cheap junk makes up the majority of tiers and then the top A tier will be really nice and unique with a near unwinnable % chance. They haven't shown what the prizes are yet so we need to wait a few more days for the sale to start. Imagine you pay for 20 tickets at 770 yen each and get 18 stickers, keychains, can badges, or other junk of mami and mikado, with your best 2 prizes being duplicate stickers of Iroha by herself. Then some otherl ucky person will win an A tier prize buying only 1 ticket which is probably a beautiful newly drawn illustration of Kaguya and Iroha together with in a fancy nice picture frame. Just made up examples of what these end up looking like since they all are managed by the same companies.
>>4525462Sounds like brainrot. No thanks.
Yachiyo absolutely would have a high school girl uniform fetish. Don't even deny it.
Kaguya: You forgot something (literally)
>>4525472
>>4525462That sounds even worse than Pachinko wth
>>4525460That is actually a nice understated design and not terrible value for 2200 yen. I would have considered it if they put the design on a mug instead of a shot glass since I'm not an alcoholic that would be using a shot glass every day.>>4525474Sometimes the prizes aren't terrible but generally it is impossible to get the one you are aiming for unless you buy an unreasonable number of tickets. No surprise that they make the A tier prize close to or under 5% win rate and just happen to make the tickets conveniently have the same shipping cost if you buy up to 20 of them (1/.005 = 20). The only upside is most of the time these events don't use unique art so it is easy to avoid.
>>4525477Why would you need to use it regularly tho?
The pillow pose from the MV is getting some use in fanart
>>4525473I feel like it's a mystery whether Kaguya would actually get flustered in any situation.
The problem is that they are not official coupletheir keep the status quo, that mean, don´t knowledge as former lovers.Yes, even after thousand of virtual years or 10 year of human life spanJust like MadoHomuOr SatoRika from HigurashiAnd othersThey can just pass as special relationship whataver it mean
>>4525541I strongly disagree. Some works are written to keep things ambiguous, and allow a romantic interpretation to be as plausible as strong friendship. But this isn't one of them, and it's a mistake to consider them equivalent. "You were my best friend" is not on the same level as "I fell in love with you at first sight."
>>4525541Kaguya literally says she loves her and proposes to her and Iroha accepts and says she wants to be with her. This is in a movie that is crystal clear how it follows real Japanese folklore that is over 1000 years old and literally names the character after the princess who is doomed to be separated from her lover. Except this movie explicitly says fuck that lets cross time and space to get the happily ever after and be together. Ok you got this far so I can stop holding back on calling you a brainlet. Maybe get off your phone next time you watch a movie.
>>4525533Yachiyo would, so yeah.
>>4525541Leave ESL.
>>4525544>>4525546Don't take the shitposter seriously. Claiming the "status quo" was kept is a surefire way to tell this retard didn't watch the movie.
The great thing about a fanart output this big is that we also get actual artistic masterpieces between the usual ship art.
Why were the lunarians anti-marriage?
>>4525564Because if Kaguya just was messing around on Earth to have fun she would have eventually had her fill and returned. But getting bound to a lover forever means living out her final days on Earth and never returning.
Whelp, wouldnt this be an interesting crossover...
Playing the "I love you game" on stream.
>>4525569For those who dont know the "I love you game" is where you keep saying I love you to each other in a more genuine way every time till one of you breaks or freaks out. It's basically just gay chicken. It was a little popular among Vtubers for a while.
I guess this was too obvious for anyone to point out, but this scene is just so much...Yachiyo doing the same pre-show routine as Kaguya, but the bunny changed to loach (a type of fish), symbolizing Yachiyo's change over time. Then the absolute narrative irony of how Kaguya reacts to learning that Yachiyo cannot eat or taste food and saying she could never bear with that torture.... ouch.
While we're talking about foreshadowing. Look at these tears. Kaguya and Yachiyo cry in the same exaggerated way with tears that hang down like pendulums. Except Yachiyo's look fake like from an emote, while Kaguya's are drawn in a more real way.Nobody else cries in this way in the entire movie, once again driving home the connection between these two. This movie's details are truly endless.
>>4525564I love how in my timeline these two pictures were posted back to back lol
>>4525565I guess they don't understand the concept of death cause they could have just waited 80 years for her.
>>4525585Kaguya got a biological body. She would have died permanently. They would have had to take her back before that regardless to turn her back into a digital being. Whether they take her back at the age of 90 or right now, makes little difference to these creatures I suppose.
I just read the cast list and I did not realize Otako was voices by Ai Fairouz. Our yuri queen really be voicing the number one yuri shipper in the movie lolAlso they hired Rie Kugimiya to voice Fushi. Imagine getting an A-lister to voice a seaslug!
I'm dangerously close to caving in and watching this a 5th and 6th time over the weekend. This movie is taking over my life.
>>4525568Yachiyo's messy computer setup with all the components and wires in the apartment did remind me of Lain's room, I wonder if they specifically used it for inspiration. Also she'd totally just wear the bear pajama as her Tsukuyomi avatar.
>>4525564They want Kaguya to pay off her work debt first before letting her go off for real.
>>4525541>The problem is that they are not official coupleYou are literally retarded and reading your post hurt my brain. You can leave.
>──Thank you. Could you also tell us about any scenes you found difficult or that left a strong impression on you?>Nagase: The scene where Iroha gargles. I was actually gargling for real during that take.>──That’s a bit surprising.>Nagase: It was one of the scenes Director Shingo Yamashita was very particular about. In that moment, Kaguya is drawn to Iroha and has a bit of a realization. I was curious about it, so I asked Director Yamashita, and it seems Kaguya was captivated by the sight of Iroha gargling... or rather, in that moment, Kaguya simply found Iroha beautiful as a living being.>I’m not sure if Kaguya was sensing something fundamentally "human" in the movement of the throat or the sound, but I struggled with that scene. It was also my first time ever gargling during a recording, so I was doing the acting while feeling a bit surprised myself.
>>4525690The deepening relationship between Kaguya and Iroha that you two perform is one of the highlights of this work. As their relationship progressed, were there any changes in your acting approach?Natsuyoshi: Regarding the relationship changes, there's actually a clear trigger point within Kaguya. In the early part, there's a scene where Iroha shows a sense of resignation while brushing her teeth, and I interpreted that as the moment Kaguya simply found Iroha beautiful and began wanting to make her happy. From then on, with each scene, I performed with gradually increasing affection toward Iroha.Nagase: In Iroha's case, I don't think there was a clear specific timing. However, Iroha has a personality where she's overly concerned about others' evaluations. With Kaguya, who's the only one who affirms her, she ends up wanting to do anything for her. So through various events—both good and bad—before she knows it, her feelings for Kaguya have grown larger. I expressed that change in a gradient-like manner.
>>4525568>>4525679Who?
>>4525589>Our yuri queenI thought that was Miku Itou.
>>4525690>>4525691Gargling is a mating call to lunarians.
>>4525406They have since put out another trailer that's all about the action scenes, so it's nice that the aspect they decided to highlight in the first trailer for the big theatrical release announcement was the romance.
>>4525697This anon's anime-watching loicense is counterfeit.
Not sure if this is meant to be a callback since the japanese words used are different, but it's nice to think it is.
>>4525452Add Yuama (KimiTsuzu): https://x.com/maymaymay7523/status/2020031349583933454
>>4525678Way ahead of you. I probably watched it once per day for a week. Though I did watch simultaneous viewings with streamers on youtube for the reactions.
>>4525704If it aint yuri, I dont know it.
>>4525705Iroha would never leave her behind, but fate is quite ironic...
>>4525707Yuama from "The Summer You Were there"? Damn it's all the greatest hits in here.
>Iroha for the first 40 minutes of the movie
>>4525118I saw some Jap from Okinawa going "No, why is it not airing here?!" and I feel that's a little like a Murican from Utah or North Dakota wondering why the biggest event of the year isnt happening in their hinterland state.
>>4525361>It is extremely obvious once you see it.To be fair, the movie is rather inconsistent about that detail. Mostly for the sake of color adjusting and emotional expression.
>>4525448This is actual BS. I hate how third party publishers are always cowards about admitting things are yuri.
>>4525575>Yachiyo cannot eat or taste food and saying she could never bear with that tortureI actually genuinely cringe in pain at that line on every rewatch. Though considering she used to not be able to taste anything on the moon, Kaguya sorta just went back to her original life.
No... NooooooHow have I NEVER realized this on my rewatches? Oh my god anons!! Kaguya was writing down easy recipes for Iroha so she wouldnt just live off instant food and energy drinks after kaguya leaves! And that note that I thought Iroha had written about not using ketchup and mayo? That is in KAGUYA'S handwriting!!!!Kaguya is literally feeding Iroha with the best handmade food for the whole movie. I love that Kaguya is the one with the domestic skills despite being the wild one. And she wanted her girlfriend to keep eating healthy. I'm seriosuly tearing up right now...
I've been listening to piano covers more often. It is still too powerful to use as background music but it is a step up since I was getting emotional fatigue from crying over the original ost. I can't help but be pulled into memories of the scene it was used in.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sVE6LSly9ohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K34BhQrTz0o
I think people don't give this movie enough credit for its excellent use of red herrings.First trailer shows only baby and child Kaguya -> people think it's a story about a high school girl raising a childBig brother appears as an antagonist named Mikado who immediately asks to marry Kaguya -> people think he is either the love interest or the major antagonistIroha figures out that her father's melody and Yachiyo's debut song have the same tune -> people automatically associate Yachiyo with Iroha's dad and theorize that he made Yachiyo's AI or somethingThey show you Kaguya's spaceship several times before showing Yachiyo's spaceship in the water tank -> people assume Yachiyo is another Lunarian who escaped the moon and might know how to get Kaguya backIroha says she still wants to do something to get a happy ending, it immediately cuts to a concert -> people assume she wants to be Yachiyo's producerIt's great how every twist could be explained in another way before its revealed.
It's funny to think that in this world people might actually make doujins of KaguIro and they can buy smut books about themselves lol
>>4525794Piano Reply is actually really pretty.
>>4525794very nice actually, makes me appreciate the best songs even more
>TsukuyomiTube>Tuskuyomi mailPlus the "AI" chats and Tsukuyomi's Fuju currency that can be used irl, Yachiyo really had Iroha in the palm of her hands.
The great debate.
>>4525564They post on /a/
Finally got around to watching this. Definitely worth it 10/10 yuri of the year already (I will hold out hope we get even better though). Trawling the threads for fanart was vital support while coming down from blubbering like a moron the last 30 minutes. Glad I didn't get spoiled on it.Praying that it does well and we get some more Kaguya crumbs and more yuri funding in general. My rando notes I made while watching, all stuff anons have already pointed out I'm surelewd as fuck "handshake" wtfsleeping together very cutethis concert is just 3p flirtingI love you into jokey proposal felt pretty genuineFireworks festival, really crossing all the checkboxes for romance huh. Nice shipper friends! The parallel between Iroha's mom losing her husband and Iroha losing Kaguya, very subtle (not)"Love at first sight" jesusDamn that's a lot of "I love you"Also I love how the background stream agegap comment by yachiyo early on has completely different meanings on first watch and after!
>>4525852Running this through shitty ocr translation made one very unexpected result.
YachiyoCheers~Iroha, you’ve been drinking alone a lot latelyYaccho's worried!Huh? But I’m drinking with you, aren’t I?!We're together but Yaccho is not drinking~!…It’s kinda cute how she gets mad for me.my oshi Irohaa
>>4525853It's about ship names right?
>>4525862The age gap thing is too funny. Makes it seem like its about child Kaguya and teen Iroha, but its actuall Yachiyo yapping about how she wants to be in an age gap relationahip with Iroha herself lolYou should check out the Light Novel or at least the stuff anons posted about it here. Iroha is like 120% gayer in the LN, because we get all her inner thoughts. She explicitely says she is in love with Kaguya etc.
>>4525852I kinda like the idea that Yaccho specifically made a way to earn/use in game money irl specifically for struggling Iroha.
>>4525862Wait, have you watched the epilogue MV in the OP yet? Just the movie isnt enough. There ia extra content!
>>4525777The anime made her a gremlin but in the LN it was clear she has grown to be pretty dependable and not only was a good emotional support for Iroha, she took good care of Iroha too.Honestly they should have cut the entire Kassen battle to focus on some other details from the LN. Damn Shingo and his hardon for Summar War.
>>4525951Kaguya being a dependable partner comes across perfectly fine in the movie too. She's exuberant but never does anything that could jeopardize Iroha's living conditions after the one time she wastes her money on another pair of VR contacts. She cooks for her, takes proper care of her when she's sick, splits the bills, stops being too pushy, is caring about Iroha's needs and understanding about her family issues.>they should have cut the entire Kassen battleHell no, it's fun, expands the setting and is also part of their relationship development by showing how deeply they've come to understand each other.
>>4525953Kaguya only gives off dependable vibe in the movie after Iroha got sick. The impression before that was that she literally pushed Iroha to the brink, disregarding Iroha living space and overworked her with streaming stuff. Before that the movie didnt do well to portray her as a good partner at all.
>>4525964Literally the first scene after Kaguya's smartcon blunder was her making an elaborate meal for Iroha and making her eat something healthy for the first time in months. Even if Iroha despaired at the price, the good foos actually cheered her up. The theme continues with Kaguya asking what Iroha wants for dinner in the montage.Kaguya also encourages Iroha to play music again, something she had a mental block for until then, finally freeing her from that torment. When Iroha refuses to appear publically in the limelight on eventa, Kaguya gets her a fox costume to lower her anxiety. And from the get-go Kaguya wants a happy ending for the stubborn Iroha too. She's dragging her out of her comfort zone (which was actually self-imposed jail). Iroha's trying to do both and being unable to say no is what leads to her collaps. I dont think Kaguya really understood how much Iroha pushed herself until then, but ahe cares.
I finally watched this. I liked it, but I honestly didn't understand what was happening during most of the battle scenes. I might need to watch it again>>4525589I'm surprised you needed to look at the cast list. They both have very distinct voices>>4525890Yes
>>4525970Kassen is easier to follow if you're familiar with MOBAs like League of Legends. They don't explain the rules that well in dialogue, there's a screen with the detailed rules that pops up at one point but it's quick and mirrored.
>>4525970Ai Fairouz is one of the most vocally flexible VAs out there. I guarantee she can do completely different performances that sound nothing alike.
>>4525970I will just tell you right bow, you should rewatch the movie regardless. This is 100% a movie you need to rewatch to get the most out of it. If you are still confused by the Kassen scenes I am sure we can explain it to you anon, though try watching it one more time first.
>>4525127You think that's crazy? Let me tell ya the super secret special lore: Ya know why Kaguya is a rabbit in VR? It's because in Japanese mythology there are moon rabbits making mochi. Kaguya is from the moon so she is a rabbit. Mind blown or what? ~(ovo)~
>>4525818I never thought any of these thinga desu. Maybe my brain was too slow to come up with anything, but I just kinda took the twists as they came without making any guesses.
>>4525983It was all an elaborate ruse to get to suckle Iroha's rohas?!
"Iroha. Let's do it."
>>4525990Well the obvious aside, I wonder what Iroha being a fox is about. Kitsune are shapeshifters and whimsical and highly vicious at times, but I don't exactly see the connection. Maybe because she is clever?
>>4526040Kitsune are servants of moon gods. Or maybe Shingo really likes Zootopia.
>>4526047Really? I dont remember Inari being a moon god.
>>4526053Where's part 3?
>>4526054I think that's the third one. Pic related is the first one, and the second one is somewhere above.
>>4526057Don't see any part 2.
It was so good I've been watching it everyday and now I feel empty as fuck. what can I watch or read while waiting for the lightnovel?
>>4526161just MTL it, maybe it's because I'm an ESL but it read fine for me.
>>4526165It's not about the translation, I feel empty because I need more good Yuri and I don't want to start reading random stuff and end up with something like Citrus
>>4526187If you're into supernatural/urban fantasy you can try reading Here Stands Gokumon Nadeshiko
>>4526203Great recommendation. I'm still reading this myself. The main pair's relationship is extremely precious. Sadly the TL for the second volume is just poor MTL quality. The first one's reads like a human actually translated and QC'd it. The second volume's TL constantly finds new ways to translate terms that already appeared a dozen times in the same chapter or randomly switches to "he" for girls. It's a shame that my Japanese isn't on the level where I could read it raw at a sane pace as this stuff gets pretty involved with references to mythology and Japanese/Chinese history.
>>4526203I searched for it in the novel thread but the reader linked is cancer (who the fuck wants to keep scrolling between LN chapters), is there a better place to read it?
>>4526266There used to be but it got taken down, as far as I know that is the only place to read the LN. You could try the manga, but it's is way behind>>4526257Yeah, volume 2 is such a huge downgrade
>>4526165MTL isn't good though. Even an ESL should be able to tell. It's barely good enough to convey the idea, but it's trash. Might as well read a summary with wrong pronouns awkward phrasing and iindisernable garbage area of nonsense you need to figure out through context of what you know about the movie.
>>4526064>>4525711
>>4525777>I love that Kaguya is the one with the domestic skills despite being the wild oneI think one of the best parts of IroKagu's dynamic is that they are both incredibly high spec girls, but they are completely complementary to each other. They have almost no overlap in their skills, so they perfectly slot into each other like puzzel pieces.Iroha is good at making music and playing it, but she can't (or doesnt want to) sing. Kaguya is the one who sings her songs and gives them life.Iroha can't cook beyond the basics and doesn't have time to either, so she only eats fast food and drink energy drinks. Meanwhile Kaguya has an innate 5 star chef soul and loves cooking and challenging herself with new dishes, providing for Iroha.Kaguya is terrible at time management, learning rules or going through the logic of things, so Iroha grounds her and gets things organized.Kaguya is decent at the combat in Kassen, but she is mostly just using instinct, while Iroha is clearly por gamer level and much better at the game as it is meant to be played. But in return Kaguya comes up without out of the box strategies because she doesnt really care to be good at how the game is "meant" to be played. They synergize greatly because of that.Kaguya is the emotional core of the relationship, while Iroha is the bedrock. If Iroha couldn't keep up with kaguya's wild needs and follow through with her unreasonable side, it wouldn't work. But if Kaguya wasn't pushing and expressing her feelings honestly (which Iroha cant) the relationship wouldnt work either.Holy shit, Iroha is right handed and Kaguya is left handed. They just complement each other in every way.
It's not just me that finds Yachiyo incredibly selfish, sociopathic and cruel, right?
>>4526363Bait used to be believable.
>>4525124Speaking of MV, was that Kaguya in the ashes of Hiroshima/Nagasaki?
>>4526364This is not bait, this is my honest opinion. Please think back to every instance of suffering that Iroha went through and then wonder to yourself why Yachiyo didn't help her
>>4526365Could have been any random war. The point is that she saw the horrors of human warfare and people's futures being snuffed out.
>>4526369Thanks for preventing WW2, Yachiyo! ARIGATO
>>4526367So you have the media literacy of a shrimp. Moving on.
>>4526371Hey I appreciate you taking the time to articulate your point in a constructive and informative manner!
>>4526370She didnt even know it was a thing dumbass. How is some sealsug gonna prevent war? No seriously, do you have brain damage? You seem to try reaaally hard to give this story a spin it doesn't have, even if you have to bend the fabric of reality to get there.>>4526372You have made no real point, so you don't get to be treated like you did. I am done with your shitposts. How boring.
>>4526373Did you forget that Yachiyo had time traveled and had all of Kaguya's memories? So she knew exactly how miserable, depressed and suicidal Iroha was. She also had unlimited ability to interact with Iroha (via Tsukuyomi, chatbot or even IRL using augmented reality) and vast finances. I'm curious, you seem to understand something I don't, can you explain why she wasn't able to help Iroha?
>>4526374
>>4526376
>>4526374Ok, I'll bite, just this once and please try not to be a moron. This is gonna be long so use your brain. The time loop starts when Iroha sings a song to Kaguya and she comes back from the moon. Kaguya falls around 6000BC, You know what was happening with humanity back then? Fucking nothing. She falls into despair and hopes for Yachiyo to come and save her, probably because she hopes Yachiyo is a lunarian like herself and not just a robot.Yachiyo obviously doesn't come and Kaguya, through Fushi, starts her long waiting journey back to Iroha. Kaguya tells her story through the ages, recieving help and empathy from other people and witnessing the best and the worst of humanity. At some point in the late 1900 she finally figures out that she was supposed to be Yachiyo and that she's stuck in this closed time loop. She also accepts the role Yachiyo had, which is someone who smiles and bears it for the sake of more important things, just like all the brave people she met through time. The internet is suddenly real, Kaguya logs in, becomes a channer, a chatbot, goes into Niconico until Tsukuyomi can exist. One of the first things Kaguya does when she wakes up as Yachiyo is sing her debut song. She sings it until she's sure Iroha has heard her, Iroha hears this song sometime around 2020 when her dad dies. This song saves her. In the MV there's a small scene where little Iroha is chatting with Yachiyo about her troubles. Kaguya is there for her as comforting figure because that's what Iroha needs. Iroha doesn't need money until she moves out.
>>4526374"Why doesn't Yachiyo just give Iroha a billion yen? Is she stupid?"
>>4526386Yachiyo literally can't send money to Iroha and pull her out of poverty for two reasons, first Iroha's issue is that she basically ran away from Home to not deal with her mother, she's living life in hard mode because she's a pushover, money would have made it worse and second, because it's a closed time loop, the fact that she exists means that everything already happened, she can't change Iroha's life because that would be changing her own past which already happened. Kaguya falls as a baby when Iroha is poor and tired as fuck, it can't be changed, Yachiyo is just an spectator and does whatever she can to be as close to Iroha as possible, makes songs for her, handshake events, streams stuff that's súper coincidentally just what Iroha needs to hear. Not only does she help Iroha until Kaguya arrives as a baby, she was ready to let go when Kaguya left for the loop so Iroha wouldn't have to suffer more
>>4526386>>4526389Thanks for your reply. However, accepting your role and smiling and bearing how things are is exactly the opposite of the theme of the movie. Iroha is doing that in her life and it's destroying her, it takes Kaguya to come along and shake her out of the rut. Yachiyo has foreknowledge, she has power and opportunity and there is absolutely no reason why she couldn't change the future to help Iroha - she'd already shown the initiative to do exactly that by time traveling in the first place. "Closed time loop" is made up nonsense, Yachiyo simply chose to go along with how Kaguya remembered things for her own convenience. >money would have made it worseHow? If Iroha had money she wouldn't need to stress over budgeting, or use her time and energy at a shitty casual job. Or even if Yachiyo didn't send her money she could have easily befriended Iroha and helped her emotionally, Iroha kept her anxieties and stress secret from her friends so having someone she could confide in would have been a massive help. And I see making the song, streaming etc as the absolute bare minimum of "help" that just kept Iroha alive long enough to meet Kaguya. I don't know about you but there is no way I would be content to just spectate as the person I was in love with suffered from depression and collapsing from stress and over work.Yachiyo showed that she could effortlessly defeat the moon people, but she was suspiciously absent from Kaguya's graduation battle. She could even have given Iroha and her friends the same or better cheat abilities that Mikaido used, or just straight up made them invincible. Yachiyo just waited for Kaguya to be out of the picture so she could fulfill the conditions for Kaguya to time travel and then so she could be happy. Christ sakes she could have even warned Kaguya about the asteroid and prevent the accident in the first place.
This retard doesn't understand the movie or can even remotely think for himself. Ignore him. He literally baited with "x character is actually a sociopath" meme bait and then did the "why did character not prevent WW2" follow up bait. He is not real.
>>4526398Yeah it is one thing to misunderstand the time travel since it can be a lot on the first viewing. But to fundamentally refuse to accept how this time travel worked and use that as justification to intentionally misinterpret the rest of the story is a new one to see.
>>4526399So Yachiyo was somehow prevented from doing anything differently? Her actions were controlled?
>>4526395Wow, you truly are a moron, this is not back to the figure or Madoka where every change creates a new timeline, this is just one loop, Kaguya travels back in time because she always did. Yachiyo can't change her own past, the past can't be changed. If Iroha had one more yen in her account at the beggining of the movie it would be changing Yachiyo's past too. It's not going to change because you don't like it.Why don't you go watch Dark SO You can see what a loop is like? Then go bother /tv/And you're right the movie is not about bearing it, which is why Iroha takes Kaguya to a true happy ending.
>>4526395>"Closed time loop" is made up nonsense, Yachiyo simply chose to go along with how Kaguya remembered things for her own convenience.>send Iroha money>she no longer has to work herself to the bone at a job>she is not coming home late at night anymore>isn't there when Kaguya's ship lands late at night and the telephone pole is altered>never meets Kaguya, someone else does>Kaguya fails to stay on earth, ends up back on the moon where there's no Iroha song to wake her up>Kaguya never goes back in the past>Yachiyo never exists>and so could never have sent her money in the first placeNice one, retard.>omg she didn't even help Kaguya's side win the battle!>win battle>Kaguya never goes to the moon or comes back>Yachiyo never exists>Tsukuyomi never gets made>Kaguya and Iroha never bond over Tsukuyomi stuff, Kaguya lives a pretty normal life and then gets sent back to the moonNice one, retard.
>>4526402>>4526401It being some kind of unalterable loop is just an assumption. Yachiyo never tried to change anything.
>>4526400You have probably read or at least heard about stories where star crossed lovers were fated to reunite. The question of free will isn't really that they can't decide for themselves, but that anything Kaguya does or decides to do as Yachiyo already happened. If she tried to give money to Iroha, something would have intervened to prevent it because Iroha never received anything from Yachiyo like that. In the context of the story Iroha and Kaguya never truly part, only Kaguya has the misfortune of spending so much time in the past. If you truly want to understand it read the wiki for a bootstrap paradox since it does a good job explaining the concept.
>>4525395https://kuji-cliffe.com/lp/Cho_KaguyaHimekuji/The merch was revealed and it is all the same art used for various tiers of junk items. I'd pay 770 yen for the mini art with the 3 of them on it but the rest of it is just uninspired poses slapped onto template gacha prizes. It's crazy they didn't make the 3p pose a tapestry or acrylic tier prize. Disappointing but not surprising since this is how most of these kuji events are run.
>>4526395Iroha has been living alone for a combined 3 months at the start of the movie. She has barely suffered that much by the point Kaguya arrives. Yachiyo already knows Kaguya will save Iroha, so there is actually very little time where Iroha has to suffer "alone".And here is the kicker, Yachiyo has been there for Iroha the entire time she needed her. There is a reason iroha says Yachiyo is the reason she kept living, that her song saved her life. Yachiyo made the song that was based on her father's melody for her. She made a conultation chat where she actively listend to Iroha's troubles and gave her life advice to reduce her suffering, even before Iroha moved out. She made Tsukuyomi as a way for people like Iroha to enjoy life and get away from their troubles. She made it so you can even use in-game currency to pay for stuff in real life. You say Yachiyo has huge monetary ressources, but that is clearly not true, considering she cant even fund her own robot body research for Iroha in the epilogue. She is clearly using all money to maintain Tsukuyomi, which is not a predatory money drain scheme unlike all other mass multitplayer platforms, because Yachiyo made it to help suffering people and creators in the first place. Her scope has extended far beyond Iroha. No, Yachiyo could not "defeat" the Lunarians, she could just delay them. If she stopped them in Tsukuyomi they would either destroy Tsukuyomi or damage the real world seriously until Kaguya is handed over. Lunarians could hack every piece of technology in the real world easily. They could make society collapse on a whim.>>4526400>>4526403You dont get it. Any change she makes would automatically undo her own existence, which would mean she could never do the thing that changed the timeline in the first place. This is a time travel paradox. Because Yachiyo's existence is intrinsically tied to such incredibly specific events, you cannot alter anything involving Iroha or the paradox will trigger.
>>4526408>Any change she makes would automatically undo her own existence, which would mean she could never do the thing that changed the timeline in the first place. Is there any evidence of that whatsoever?
>>4526410Use your brain. It's like a simple equation is beyond you. Any meaningful change in Iroha's life will prevent the events of the movie to happen, which will mean Yachiyo doesn't exist anymore, which means Yachiyo never made the change in the first place. This is simple fucking logic. If you don't understand what time travel paradoxes are, then read up on them. This is my last reponse to this inane point.
Here is a little animation that I can't save without using some dumb other site to convert it because twitter sucks.https://x.com/dondondon007/status/2020491610258071910
>>4526411I understand paradoxes quite fine, thank you, but it's just pure assumption. If time travel was even possible nobody knows how it works, or what effect changing past events would have. Not only does the film not state how time travel works in the setting Yachiyo makes no attempt or give any explanation on changing events. For example, let's say Yachiyo lost her memory of how she ended up time traveling and so could therefore not follow the predetermined course of events. Given her personality and love for Iroha, would she sit back willingly while Iroha suffered and be content with not pursuing a relationship with her? An emphatic no. Therefore, only her knowledge of events constrained her actions, not any kind of cosmic law preventing it.
>>4526415>if time travel was even possible none of us would know how it works!>literal time traveler from a race who can time travel says it's a closed loop that can't be changedFirst you claim nobody can know because we cannot time travel to find out, but you also claim that the ones who can time travel can't know, because we don't know. Pretty fucking stupid. It's almost like you either use logic, which leads to time travel paradoxes or you believe the fucking character who knows more than you. Either way you failed.
>>4526417>literal time traveler from a race who can time travel says it's a closed loop that can't be changedWas that stated in the film? Can you give me a time because I'd be happy if this was stated
>>4526415It doesn't need to state how time travel works because it assumes you will have the intelligence to figure it out.The timeline was always like this. Theres are no "what if" Yachiyo and Iroha are chained by fate like a greek myth. Even Yachiyo says it's a cycle when she tells Iroha the truth
>>4526418In addition, she is saying this about the Kaguya who is on the moon right now, not even time traveling yet. This means she considers this unchangable fate and as the only source on how time travel works, this is simply the only info you can believe, especially because this is the writer speaking through Yachiyo. This is the intended way time travel works in this story. It's a stable loop. Hence why the solution is to go beyond the loop for the happy ending.
>>4526420Sure if that's how it has to be. I would have liked to have that presented visually, perhaps a short sequence of Yachiyo detailing her attempts to escape the cycle. As it stands it just sounds like her giving up. Thanks for your time.
>>4526412Twitter is true ass yes
>>4526421I get your frustation but there are not even attempts to escape in a paradox like Homura did in Madoka Mágica. Kaguya did what she could to reach Iroha so they could have a happy end and chickened out because she thought she was too old.
So Iroha just hangs out with Yachiyo (in Kaguya avatar) and a Yachiyo copy/actual AI program in Tsukuyomi now?
>>4526433Nobody is sure (assuming you mean after the epilogue ray MV), but until the MV's events happen it's assumed Yachiyo is just running the Kaguyabot and her Tsukuyomi avatar simultaneously.
>>4526438That's kinky my guy
>>4526444I don't understand anons who use spoiler tags for non-spoilers.
>>4526433>>4526433I'm pretty sure the Yachiyo from the final concert was created a week ago so 8000 year old Yachiyo is in the Kaguya body. So I vote that the new Yachiyo is an actual AI
>>4526456Or did only a copy of Yachiyo get put into the Kaguya body, so original Yachiyo is actually still in Tsukiyomi?
>>4526456I'm pretty sure that was just a joke about how it had been 8000 years since she performed as "Kaguya" but had done a concert as "Yachiyo" just a week or so ago
>>4526456>>4526461Not this again... by the end of the movie Kaguya's soul from her shaceship is controlling the Kaguyabot but she clearly does this remotely through Tsukuyomi, which is why the original Yachiyo is also still there. Yachiyo can make copies of herself, this is nothing new. That's why she can hold a concert as both Kaguya and Yachiyo at the same time.It only gets complicated in the epilogue MV where they bury the spaceship and Kaguya allegedly becomes "fully human", whatever that means. By that point the Yachiyo in Tsukuyomi might really be just a simulation or it's Kaguya logging in as Yachiyo.
>>4526361>Kaguya is left handedI never noticed that... Maybe this movie has TOO MANY details.
But how did Iroha know how to model the Kaguya bot's pussy and anus accurately?
>>4526477She just went for her own preferences. Which is probably why she made her tits bigger.
>>4525115I'm shocked nobody has mentioned this from the Guidebook yet, but they point out that the reason Fushi acts so abrasive and tundere is because it would be crying nonstop otherwise while interacting with young Kaguya and Iroha.
>>4526478Damn, Iroha isn't a lolicon?
>>4526483...she was crushing on Yachiyo from the start. Also Kaguya isn't a loli.
>>4526474Is it possible to love a movie too much? Let's find out.>>4526482I figured it had to be something like that since it was pretty obvious that it was putting up a front being abrasive right from the very beginning when I rewatched for the first time. Then when Iroha says she'll search the whole world to find Kaguya. Fushi wasn't alone in that feeling, and the tsun act is shattered. Now I want a fushi plushie
The special feeling meme is still alive and well
>>4526512Or maybe it's this way around?
>>4526482Right before Kaguya starts her goodbye concert, when Yachiyo says "Everything will turn out fine, that's a Yaccho guarantee", you can see Fushi tearing up for a few frames.
>>4526474Credit to some guy on twitter: Iroha and Kaguya used to have two toothbrushes in Iroha's old apartment, but when Yachiyo recreates it for her story there's only one, likely because she doesn't consider herself to be Iroha's Kaguya anymore until Iroha rebukes her.
>>4526516I think Yachiyo recreated that one-room appartment as it was on the day where Iroha took her in, which means there was only one toothrush at that point. The room is exactly as it was before Kaguya invaded with all her 100-yen store stuff after all.
>>4526516Was this the profile pic Kaguya was showing off in her socials? She's basically displaying that she is living with a partner.
>>4526474The LN mentions that when they ate at the table together that first time, Iroha feels like instead of being left handed, Kaguya was merely mirroring her. Not sure if this really comes across in the anime since Kaguya is already holding the spork in her left hand before Iroha eats.
>>4526543Considering Kaguya does basically everything with her left hand, including writing, playing guitar and holding cooking utensils, I think it's fair to say she is in fact left handed. Ambidextrous with a preference at the very least.
>>4526543>>4526544Even back on the moon Kaguya writes with her left hand.
Kaguya noticed Iroha gets a wrinkle, so she freaks out about her dying... and in response Iroha turns herself into a cyborg.Guess this artist doesn't share the view that Kaguya becomes human with a limited lifespan.Iroha totally would do this though to make Kaguya worry less.
Uh yeah... I assume they are going to use the condoms or whatever for their fingers. It's a thing, even if rare, in some lesbian sex. I would say it's because of their usually long nails, but this artist did go out of their way to draw them wirth short fingernails.
>>4525990>in Japanese mythology there are moon rabbits making mochi. Kaguya is from the moon so she is a rabbit. That's not all, rabbits on the moon pound mochi with a mallet, and that's why Kaguya's weapon in Tsukuyomi is a hammer.Same reason a lot of bunny figures in japanese media are associated with hammers, such as Erina in Rabi Ribi, or Kyouka in Usagi wa Kaku Katariki, but it's more on point here since she's from the moon herself.
>>4526548Which makes Yachiyo's sea themed design also more interesting. She rejects her moon ancestry and instead was "reborn" in mother ocean. So all about her is themed around the deep sea.It was already mentioned during the MV discussion, but Tsukuyomi changing from night to day and Yahi/Kagu's moon hair piece being replaced by the sun (that which gives life on Earth) is basically the same thing. Moving on from the moon.
I actually have a slightly different interpretation of 星降る海 than the one that I usually see, in that I think Yachiyo isn't actually singing just to Iroha, but also at least in part to Kaguya, and I'm curious if anyone else thinks it might be more than just reaching.>Many thousand years, All this time I've waited, And now, The day we meet is finally hereThe only first meeting here is actually Yachiyo and Kaguya, we know Yachiyo and Iroha have already met and interacted before this>And see how even on the darkest path,The moon shines down to light our way, There, on the shore of the sea, Can you smell the salt in the air, And feel me standing right there with you. Cause forever more, I promise somewhere out there, I'll still be watching over youShe's singing, not just to just the Kaguya here and now, but to the Kaguya after she crashes to Earth on the shore in the past, who will have just started down a dark 8,000 year path, but Yachiyo is saying that she can do it, that Yachiyo herself can look back on her past and know that Kaguya can make it through>So please, Keep laughing from the depths of your heart, And please, Keep gathering those bright happy days, And there in the future you make, You and I, Can feel our hearts light up with joyNote that it's not Iroha that is laughing the vast majority of the time, but Kaguya. Yachiyo is telling Kaguya to enjoy this time to the fullest, to gather up as much happiness as she can, so that in the future, the two of them, or rather, the unification of them, can feel the joy of being with Iroha.
>>4526579 (me)>We'll make it happen now, It's time to let our story beginLiterally she's singing of the time when her own story begins, both as Kaguya at the very start of her story, and the start of being able to see what comes next as Yachiyo.Put together, she's encouraging Kaguya to come dance and sing with her, so that she can make Kaguya's short time with Iroha as full of happiness as possible, to build up that store of love and happy memories that she knows will be all Kaguya will have to fall back on her 8,000 year journey to becoming Yachiyo
So there are three Kaguyas now? The Kaguya being time displaces, RoboKaguya and Yachiyo? Also, was the fuckhuge asteroid passing between the Moon and Earth (in astronomical terms, it's disastrously close) mentioned before it appeared?
>>4526585>So there are three Kaguyas now? The Kaguya being time displaces, RoboKaguya and Yachiyo? In a sense. After the timeskip there's pre-time travel Kaguya currently working on the moon and post-time travel Kaguya inside the android body. The virtual Yachiyo shouldn't count as a fully separate being from the latter, it's just a copy.>asteroidNo, but that happens 80 years later so it's normal it wouldn't be mentioned during the story.
>>4526580Remember that during the main concert after the Cup, Yachiyo's speech was about how she wants to make memories of this day that she will forever remember, even in the darkest times. The self she is talking about here is obviously present Kaguya. The songs are towards Iroha, but that speech was definitely meant for her younger self.
>>4526568From baby to bae.
I hope Kaguya was able to wait most of the time in China because nothing happens in Japan until around around 600BC8000 years is an insane amount of time, I'm glad Iroha was a top tier girlfriend and her only quality was not "being nice" like a lot of Japanese media
>>4526617It honestly feels like it was meant to be 800 years originally (that's also where the Kaguya myth allegedly originated). Maybe Shibgo went for 8000 years because it was more dramatic? But in every flashback except the first one it's always about much latter Japanese history, when shit actually happens. I think 800 years would have made the most sense narratively, but that doesnt work with the name Yachiyo.
>>4526617>nothing happens in Japan until around around 600BCNothing that we know of. For all we know, historians and writers of the time decided to edit was going on because it'd be too unbelievable for the future people.Wish they had been like Roman historians, who wrote a general fighting a dragon on his way to Carthage and didn't give two shits if people believed them or not.
>>4526548They even show rabbits pounding mochi when the scene transitions using her eyes. The sheer amount of attention in each second of animation make me really curious how much budget they were given for this movie.>>4526579Every time I watched it I cried during the songs for different reasons because the perspective of the story shifts and deepens every time. It works from every angle, Yachiyo singing to Iroha, to Kaguya, Yachiyo singing as Kaguya. It is incredible how many ways they can be interpreted. This movie absolutely took full advantage of its medium in using its animation, music, and voice acting to tell its story but the music stands out in how it elevates the narrative on each rewatch.>>4526587We may as well extrapolate that Kaguya's ship pinging off the side of the deadly space rock helped divert its course just enough to prevent an extinction level event.
>>4526665Or the "asteroid" was in fact tiny, as Kaguya's ship seems to be very small.

>>4526617>I'm glad Iroha was a top tier girlfriend and her only quality was not "being nice" like a lot of Japanese mediaIroha is the real catch honestly, Kaguya is incredibly sweet and devoted but peculiar background aside she's by far the more "normal" girl of the two while Iroha is some once-in-a-generation ace.

What's the reason that the english title is cosmic, but jp uses chou which is just super? CPK appears to even uses the english title's word order.
Talk me out of buying a magazine for a couple page spread with interviews that are probably just more fluff pieces
>>4526817
>>4526819Can't post the other picture with the photo cards it comes with because it has the onyx cast too. But the other bonus is the handshake ticket which is mainly why I want to buy it. Even though I could probably just print it out myself.
>>4526817The next page it's gonna be a promotion for some hetshit otome isekai garbage about the straightest villainess to ever exist
>>4526822Of course it's just a promo magazine with tons of other popular things in it. But kaguya is one of the highlighted items for the issue since it gets a slot for bonus insert items which shows it is at least not an afterthought. Anyway here is the link to buy it if anyone wants to get one.https://www.animate-onlineshop.jp/pn/pd/3367270/

>>4526705So I was watching one of those terrible (in a good way) niche JP youtube shitpost videos. Those that use the really bad text to speech voices and also some AI voices to have fake discussions with themselves (or based on some real chat they had with friends). The video was about Iroha in CPK. Basically the video was powerscaling Iroha and building up just how absurd and superhuman she is. By the end she was compared to superpowered shounen protagonists and got all her feats listed. They were also shocked a female protagonist was the most perfect superman ever made. Some of the highlights were that she is perfect at every subject at school, athletic, only needs 3 hours of sleep, is a pro gamer despite only playing recreationally, capable of going into the best university for a law course and instead being able to just swtich to the sciences, which requires a completely different exam, without dropping grades. She is also a perfect beauty despite eating garbage and not sleeping enough. Then she also somehow managed to survive taking in 8000 years worth of memories and information in what could only have been a few minutes, didn't die from the feedback and when she woke up she was not brain damaged or even changed at all by the millenia of suffering and PTSD. Then she just casually revolutionizes robotics and makes a perfect android in 10 years somehow. They also talked about her entire family line is full of superhumans, to the point where god had to nerf their bloodline by making the children gay. One of the responses was "Same sex partners can't have children? That sounds like something a weakling would think." They already considered that Iroha would just randomly switch to biology and start finish iPS research or find some kind of soul technology to make kids. Nothing can stop her.The funniest part of all was that everyone agrees that without a protag this high spec it would have been impossible to get a happy ending for the Bamboo Cutter tale.
>>4526820Close enough.
>>4526876I was planning on using some existing 3d print files and altering it to match the tsukuyomi torii since it would be very easy and there's nothing unique about the shrine design. If I manage to get a hold of that acrylic that comes out in May I'll try it, but that is so far away. I'd prefer making stuff to put Kaguya and Iroha in their room as a diorama, or a nice scale figure of them doing something together. If only the production company in charge of merch wasn't being too stingy and making the good items they made impossible to get online, then I wouldn't need to daydream.
My most replayed tracks on the OST are 4 - Borrowed Motherhood, and 14 - Special Someone. It has been more than two weeks and I still spend all my time thinking about this movie.
>>4526883"Gently Fading Radiance" (aka fireworks theme) and "Moonlight Serenade" (aka Iroha going through Yachiyo's memories) are definitely the standouts to me.
Is there a reason Kaguya is so obssessed with crabs?
So a few more details I noticed... when someone said Tsukuyomi went from night to day in the epilogue I was like "But there was already daylight in Kaseen?" but I somehow never realized.... the giant anglerfish are the ones who illuminate the arena with their headlights! Also tiger motorcycles Black onyX rdie... are actual tigers holding wheels. When they get off the tigers drop the wheels and just walk off lmao
Introvert Iro-P hiding behind her extrovert girlfriend is peak yuri.
So I noticed something that feels like an inconsistency, but this movie is too well thought out for that to be the case... When the Lunarians first attack after the concert, the date displayed on the hacked screen is the 12th of September. But in the scene afterwards where Roka and Mami tell Iroha to go to the fireworks festival it starts on the 1st of September. So I wondered why the timeline is so inconsistent... could it be the Lunarians were actually announcing when they would take Kaguya back to the moon? It seemed like they were seriously attempting to take her back, but that makes it look like they were merely delivering the message. After all Kaguya knew the exact date of her extraction after this. Also in the split second where Kaguya gets mindfucked, you can pause and see a coding screen which basically retells chunks of the Bamboo Cutter tale. It's insane to put this much detail in a single frame...And there is more. There is no blood in Tsukuyomi, yet the Lunarian drone's arm gets cut off with ink black blood, further driving home that they are outsiders that shouldnt be here.
>>4526893Yeah, the date is likely why Yachiyo and the others framed the invasion as Kaguya's graduation live since they were pretending it was all part of the performance.
>>4526886It's associated with the moon in a similar way to rabbits.
>>4526895Moon crabs? That's news to me.
>>4526892It's cute how proud Kaguya is every time Iroha gets praised by others. She gets jealous when Iroha pays attention to others (mainly Yachiyo), but she is always happy when others are obssessed with Iroha. It's like she's thinking "finally you understand how awesome my wife is".
Speaking of Iroha getting popular
>>4526898Yachiyo abusing mod priviliges is my favorite thing in fan comics.
>>4526893It the novel they confirm it more clearly that the date shown by the lunarians is indeed the day they will be coming for Kaguya. Also as you would expect from a movie with this much care for details that date is also predicted to be a full moon in real life too if you look it up.
The amount of perverse joy that fan artists get out of torturing poor Roka is legendary...
>>4526893>>4526901Wanna see a magic trick? Try adding 1,680 (Iroha) days to the date when they announced the theatrical release.
>>4525452Shiroshi-sensei also got indoctrinated. Kinda expected of the mangaka who is making the Roid manga. She immediately made a really good fan comic strip too https://x.com/shirofox/status/2020854026066166264/photo/1
>>4526905Ok, this must be a coincidence. There isnt really much logic linking these things at all, and if you gotta add a zero you just ruin the 168 thing. I'm more concerned for whoever even thought of checking this.
>>4526908I would think it has to be coincidence, though ending zeroes are sometimes ignored in goroawase so that's not really a point against it. They've been doing it themselves when the twitter account reached 168,000 followers or the youtube account 294,300 (tsu-ku-yo-mi) subs.
>>4526743Is MILKTEA also a well known yuri artist? They only seem to be doing yuri fanart from what I see, but the skill is too professional.
Are you freaking SERIOUS? The crescent moon on kaguya's outfit was a CUTOUT the entire time??? How did I not notice that on 5 rewatches?? It shows her navel in several scenes even.
>>4526918
>>4526918I saw this on X over the weekend but forgot to mention it, it's hilarious, those are details that aren't always obvious, probably in an official reference book this will be clearer along with some other details. But it's even funnier that there are probably ulterior motives behind that design on Kaguya's part, and we all know what I mean by that.
>>4526889That's a good point. I was wondering why they used the anglerfish.>>4526893They invaded to remind Kaguya of her duties on the moon and that's why when Yachiyo told the lunarians to be patient they apologized for the disruption. We also see the lunarian messengers just hanging around their apartment after this and they aren't trying to do anything. They weren't taking her back when that messenger grabbed her arm and we see later that a full fledged royal delegation would be tasked to transport her back. This is also why her eyes go dull because the reminder saps the joy of life. OL life on the moon is rough.
>>4526950>ulterior motives>>4526919
>>4526819>>4526817Someone already posted the interview pages. Mostly fluff but it did confirm Iroha used to love Yachiyo as a mommy.
>>4526990Jesus fucking Christ. This triangle relationship has every possible complex in existence. Iroha seea Yachiyo as her mother-girlfriend and Kaguya as her daughter-girlfriend. Yachiyo is into age gap relationships and Kaguya is into gargling.
>>4526997>Kaguya is into gargling.I better see a doujin where Iroha eats Kaguya out then gargles like it's fine mouthwash while Kaguya looks on entranced.
>>4526990Yes. The movie pretty much just focuses on Iroha and Kaguya relationship but if you read the novel a very big focus is Iroha's emotional dependency on her mother. In fact her being able to break out of it due to her relationship with Kaguya is as much of a character arc for Iroha as her love and devotion with Kaguya. They probably thought that theme was too heavy for the movie and just cut it almost completely.
I need a million doujins about domestic bliss with Yachiyo after getting to feel in Tsukuyomi and another million of her enjoying her life in Kaguyabot.
>>4527000I think the movie conveyed her unhealthy love-hate relationship with her mother pretty well. It's best conveyed when she acts like her mother or tries to get her approval, while also hating being like her mother and trying to become independent of her. Still it's not surprising that ahe initially saw Yachiyo as her mother figure, becauae Yachiyo was actually emotionally supportive and had infinite time to listen and care (especially about Iroha). Meanwhile her real mother is a high profile lawyer and constantly busy. The little time she can spare she just basically treats Iroha like she is going ro be swallowed by the world and needs to become as tough as herself.
Thoughts on this observation?.https://x.com/StarPolarisX/status/2021280858775167200
>>4527023>Yachiyo controlled the power lines to send Kaguya to Iroha's utility poleI don't really see anything, could be or couldn't equally. It also doesn't add any necessary component to their first meeting since it was already fated to happen.
>>4527023Since it's a paradox, anything that Yachiyo did in her own free will had actually happened before. So it could be, I see the "anxious" dropplets of energy tooI personally think Yachiyo did most of the stuff she did for Iroha and Kaguya because she geniunely wanted to, not because she remembered what was she supposed to do in the first place (other than the obvious stuff) I'm sure she wanted to help her past self to enjoy the best time of their lives as much as possible and it wouldn't be weird to go check out the meeting happens just in case. I'm sure she watched every Kaguya stream and was probably swooning when Iroha was beating up the npcs trying to court Kaguya
>>4527035Yeah from Yachiyo's point of view she's been waiting for these moments 8000 years and considers each a precious memory. I like the idea that she is watching over these pivotal moments even though she doesn't need to do anything to ensure they happen.
It do be like that.
The manga uses both Irokagu and Kaguiro.
>>4527049>Iroha actually being damaged by these cretinsThe idignity. Worat adaptation ever.
>>4526997Enough with the fake mommy play. Where's the insane ship art of Iroha x her mom?
>>4527058She will have to wait in line behind Roka.
>>4527023I think this one is really a stretch for once.
>>4527049I just love that the equivalent to the impossible tasks given to the suitors in the original tale is defeating an exhausted and overworked lesbian school girl. And it actually feels just as impossible!
>>4525128>look it up urself dumbassI want Saori Hayami to act out this line. Can you even imagine Yachiyo talking like an internet keyboard warrior? Might awaken something inside Iroha...
>>4527012We at least got some fanfics about that already.

- We understand that Kaguya's character design was decided from the point where it was based on "Kaguya-hime," but how was Iroha decided?Actually, initially, as a straightforward, easy-to-understand story, the option of "a beautiful girl named Kaguya appears before an unremarkable man..." briefly crossed my mind. But upon thinking about it, in reality, a streamer having a male partner tends to become quite a sensitive issue, so making the protagonist female-female was almost a must. Beyond that, to establish both Kaguya and Iroha's characters simultaneously, I decided to make them complete opposites. Since I was imagining Kaguya as an extremely free-spirited character, Iroha became a character who rebels against such Kaguya and lives trying not to stray from the rails she set for herself.-Regarding Yachiyo, whom Kaguya and Iroha admire, what were you thinking about when you shaped her character? This touches on a bit of a spoiler for the later part of the story, but the reason Iroha admires Yachiyo is that Yachiyo is her ideal mother figure. However, as those who have watched to the end will know, there's a twist where the person she admired like a mother is actually... Yachiyo is a character with a shadow lurking beneath her brightness, but we don't hint at that during the story. I had Saori Hayami, who plays Yachiyo, be very thorough about that.
>>4527117So anons guessing that they were intentionally complimentary in traits and even had left/right hand differences were right on the mark. Also this movie marks the one time that streamer toxicity culture somehow turned into a massive boon for yuri. And the work they put into hiding so many completely missable details with Yachiyo in the movie that only benefit someone who watches it again is basically unmatched in yuri stories across any medium as a whole.
>>4527117I hate the trope "perfect waifu falls for random normal dude" I barely tolerate in lesbians too, how come this is the first things that comes to mind when making a movie in this day and age? Thank god for toxic otaku

>>4527117Kaguya and Yachiyo's Super Consultation Corner!A corner where the popular streamers Kaguya and Yachiyo answer everyone's questions and worries! We received a ton of questions this time too. Check out their uniquely wild answers!Q1: I always look forward to Yachiyo's live shows! What kind of show are you planning next?Yachiyo: There have been a lot of high energy ones lately, so how about a 'Recommended for falling asleep! Peaceful sleep inducing' live show? I'll sing some relaxing songs quietly! I want to set up bed style seating and have everyone watch while lying down~Q2 : Help me, Yachiyo! I'm starting a new life this spring and I'm anxious... Give me some encouragement!Yachiyo: Even if you plan things out perfectly, you never know if they'll go well. There are things in the world and in your own heart that don't go as you wish, and it makes you anxious, right? At times like that... summon me into your heart I'm an AI who's on humanity's side, so I'll cheer you on like crazy! I'll always be by your side.Q1 : Your last live show was super cute, and your dancing was so sharp I want to know what your next live show will be like!Kaguya: I have so, so, so many things I wanna do, I don't have enough bodies for it all! Man, I wish I could make clones like Yachiyo~. How about we use a ton of Kaguyas to do a human pyramid and make a giant Kaguya Castle stage, and then do a live show there? All the Kaguyas would start singing and it'd be total chaos! That'd be hilarious!Q2 : Kaguya, I got into a fight with my friend... How can I make up with them?Kaguya: Say everything you're thinking! Misunderstandings make me feel all squirmy... Maybe Kaguya's allergic to misunderstandings! If that still doesn't work, then just cut them off! ...Huh? That's not me being cold! You can just hang out again when you feel like it, right? I don't think everything's over just just because you separate once~
>>4527156> I don't think everything's over just just because you separate once~Now I'm crying again.
>>4527156Why is a yuri spin on this making me understand the interest in vtuber culture as a means to fill the crushing void in my life.
>>4527169I liked the movie, but vtubers are still trash.
>>4527208Now I could see them animating her antenna wagging if they ever any new lovey dovey scenes.
>>4527107Go away smell fetish retard.
>>4527117What I like is the use and framing of partner in a romantic sense. By pointing out it could have been a male protagonist he is equating Iroha to the same standard, aka a romantic one.>>4527143It's just the standard you expect for any high profile romance movie. Shingo even says he only BRIEFLY thought about it, because that's the default.I kinda doubt streamer culture is the real reason he made Iroha female. Kaguya isn't a real Vtuber, this is clearly a different kind of situation. She even streams with her real life bodycam and most Tsukuyomi creators are not bound by generic idol culture. I think he is using (corporate) idol/Vtuber culture as an excuse. It's a very convenient theme. Also it's hilarious how the moment the genders were flipped, Iroha became an insanely complex and interesting high spec character instead of a generic nobody. Yuri indeed makes everything better.
https://natalie.mu/eiga/pp/cho-kaguyahimeNot really sure if the interview made sense but the site has some clean the vr and irl version images that were used for the acrylic stands. Can download them and figure out ways to make your own merch if needed.
>>4527169That's literally what the yuribait in Vtuber culture was all about. Except real people dont have scripts and it doesnt really last. That's why everyone got disillusioned with the concept. There are some yuri indie Vtubers (real life couples or yuri fans) who are nice to listen to, but that's about it.Anyway, Yaccho and kaguya barely count as Vtubers.
>>4527205>Yachiyo has a darker side hidden inside herDidn't know this is what the director meant.
>>4525119>>4526902>>4525223>>4525224>>4527213It's just too funny to me that fan artists are so intent on making Roka miserable about IroKagu, when this is what her actual relationship with kaguya is like in the movie. She clearly likes her a lot and is thankful she saved Iroha, when Roka couldn't.She is supportive all the way. Graceful lesbians understand when a girl has game.
>>4527227Agreed. I like most of the fanart because it has been very true to Iroha and Kaguya's unique dynamic, but on the other hand they mischaracterize Roka a ton because of this revelation. I want more art of her being happy instead of being the sad and scorned woman in every fanart.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/7833880118k word fic from someone who's read the LN and watched the MV
>>4527234I would assume everyone has watched the MV by now at least!
>>4527234Can you tell us what's good about it? Then I can add it to the recommendation section of the paste.
>>4527117Thank god there was no producer forcing the director not to do two female protagonists here, and it's sad how the default mindset is to make a male protagonist average and unremarkable. This movie would've been terrible with that setup. It's great that Shingo was thoughtful enough to go with something so bold, this was his directorial debut and his Studio Chromato's first work on top of Studio Colorido's hail Mary project, and it turned out so successful it has never left the top 3 in the all movies category on Japanese Netflix since release plus the theatrical release and all the merch selling out. I hope it emboldens more people to make high-profile yuri originals.
>>4527240I suspect that other studios will look at this and definitely not see the yuri as the reason it was successful. They wouldn't be enitely wrong either. This is a movie that plays on the nostalgia of a certain era of the internet and especially Vocaloid and vtuberfags. It also has good action. It's much more likely that anither studio copies those themes and inserts a male protag.
>>4527117I kinda wanna see the moment Iroha started to realize that her mommy feelings for Yachiyo turned into sexual attraction. That must have been hella confusing. And we know it happened long before the events of the movie, because she is so always blushing and drooling around Yachiyo from the beginning.
>>4527247From the Novel (MTL) To be honest, I’m not really a fan of how they tried to frame it as a strangely more familial kind of love despite everything. "Thank you, Iroha. For giving birth to Kaguya."She said it with a tone that was uncharacteristically serious."It's just like a fairy tale~~ The Old Man who found Princess Kaguya in the bamboo stalk ended up actually giving birth to her ten years later""Ah! That! Just so you know, I still haven't forgotten you calling me an old man ten years ago.""Yachiyo's from eight thousand years ago, so she's forgotten~~"The sound of our cackling laughter mixed with the hum of the equipment that filled the lab. It was impossible, but it was as if even Kaguya was laughing on the bed."...I made it this far thanks to you, Yachiyo.""Same here. I chased after you, Iroha, and ended up here.""The two of us, chasing after each other... hehe..."With that, I carried my empty coffee cup to the sink. As I gave it a light rinse, I could hear Yachiyo's humming cutting through the sound of the running water. I hadn't intended to wash it that thoroughly, but I wanted to listen to her sing a little longer, so I put some soap on the sponge."—A precious Melody—is flowing—in your heart—"What a clear singing voice. It soothed my heart and washed away all my anxieties. Like the sound of the waves, like the beating of my own heart.Yachiyo's gentle, warm, and reassuring singing voice. It was probably what I had sought from my mother. Now that I had broken my dependence on her, I understood. To me, Yachiyo is—."Thank you. It's my turn now," I said in a voice no one could hear.
>>4527250This feels more like the opposite, the moment Iroha realizes that the Yachiyo persona is what she had viewed as her true mothe figure back in the day. I was more interested in the parts before the movie where she realized she had a crush on her.
>>4526408>Iroha has been living alone for a combined 3 months at the start of the movieI don't think that's true. She is 17, which is generally the age of 2nd year high school students. So I think Iroha has been living this existence at the edge of collapse for at least a whole year.
>>4527250Even the director said in the interview that little Iroha admired Yachiyo as a mother, but that "it's my turn now" reads more like "I'll heal your heart". Now if you're panicking about random schizos saying it's not gay because of that one line, remember the rest of the story telling you they're in love. And that mommy issues (and daddy issues) are one the main sources of lesbians dynamics.
>>4527274>And that mommy issues (and daddy issues) are one the main sources of lesbians dynamics. Not any more than for hetshitters. Having parental issues is just one of the most common drama people have in their lives.
When I watched the movie the first time I was kinda annoyed at how lazy it was for Kaguya to just magically become more popular than well established top streamers in like a month. I don't like it when movies do this kind of "miracle" victory. But on a rewatch I realized the rules for the Yachiyo Cup were different. It was about who makes the most NEW fans in that amount of time. Huge streamers with long established fanbases actually would be at a disadvantage there, because their growth could plateau early. Under that light, an up and coming star like Kaguya could indeed gain more new fans than Black onyX.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1AW8Gj1XygThe official channel has been on a posting spree of all the songs with lyrics and movie clips lately.
>>4527298One of the many details that benefit a rewatch. My favorite is that they destroy towers by spiking the middle disc in the stack just like Kaguya ate her first pancake. Also they were guaranteed to win with the mega boost to their numbers from the broadcast of the kassen match by doing their scissor handshake on the main stage for all to see.
Mommy issues are great actually.
This reminds me of Sasameki Koto.
>>4527312First thing I thought of when I saw this picture as well. Even the soft lighting is reminiscent of it.
>>4527270That makes way more sense with her achievements and familiarity with people. Also obviously the career choice/university application sheets usually come put around the second year too.
I really appreciate some of the Japanese discussion on what the in-universe fandom would be like. One comment talked about how people would obnoxiously brag about being fans of IroP from the start: "I was a fan BEFORE she took off the costume. Were you?" But there would also be an anti faction posting threads with titles like "[COLLUSION WITH MANAGEMENT] Anti IroP Thread #21 [Two-timing Lesbian]"

>>4527426>collusion with managementTechnically true. Yachiyo being management and all. But one thing to consider is that Yachiyo is considered an AI by everyone else, so it feels weird that people treat this as genuine cheating.

Anyone with some Chinese skills willing to translate this for us?

>>4527601
>>4527602The end
>>4527587I'm not sure if Yachiyo being an AI was supposed to accepted as fact by the public. I thought she was assumed to be a human with a goofy backstory, in the same way a streamer might call themselves a 500-year-old vampire or something.
>>4527605Hmm... I never thought of it like that. But Yachiyo being able to copy herself and chat with hundreds of people simultaneously is clearly a skill beyond what normal streamers can do, so I feel like that would lend credence to her claims to the public. She also has no public persona despite being the owner of Tsukuyomi in real life, which would make people suspicious.
So has anyone ever analyzed the baby birthing chamber in the telephone pole? Kaguy got some decorations in there. For one she got a disco globe, which is the same thing Yachiyo uses in Tsukuyomi to replace the moon. There is a star and planets too, which obviously is pushing the alien angle. There is a hammer, which as we established it a moon rabbit thing, but also foreshadows her weapon later. And then there is the gold coin... I don't get that one.
>>4526579Sorry, but the song at the very least starts with it being about meeting Iroha. >Many thousand years I have waited for you and now the day has come>So please stay close to me and take my hand, don't ever let me go again (does fox hand pose)There is no interpretation of these lyrics that makes sense with her talking about Kaguya. The rest of the song is about her experiences and how she coped with them, wanting to show Iroha who she truly is now. The song is not necessarily about this exact moment, but about how she has felt for a long time. It does also kick off the true plot of the movie, so it does serve a double function in that. One aspect you seem to overlook is that Yachiyo has been there for Iroha since she was a child, always watching over her. So all the lyrics that are about gathering happiness and not giving in to despair work well for both Yachiyo/Kaguya and Iroha alike.
Kaguya never stops cherishing her time with Iroha
>>4527616There is for the first, actually. She's waited literally 8000 years to be the Yachiyo to Kaguya, to be the person to set her past self up with Iroha. My point isn't that all the lyrics are definitively about Kaguya, but that many of them can be via double meaning.
>>4527624You cant just separate stanzas like that as if each line is independent though... the first one is most definitely about meeting Iroha again.
>>4527612>And then there is the gold coinMaybe because Iroha asked for money?
>>4527625I mean, if that's the tack you want to take, even just that line is itself contradictory. The line in the subtitles on the video on the official channel is actually "Many thousand years, All this time I've waited, And now, The day we meet is finally here". That doesn't make any sense to actually be about only Iroha. Yachiyo has already met Iroha as Yachiyo plenty of times, by the point of the concert. She's talked to her in chat, she's the one that gave Iroha the courage to move out, Iroha has been to lots of her concerts. In no way does it make sense for her to be saying "finally meet" about Iroha. The only first meeting between two people is Yachiyo and Kaguya.
>>4527627Are you blind? I already told you that the lyrics don't have to be about this specific moment in time, but are how Yachiyo felt for a long time. You cant retardedly pretend that the line can be interpreted differently after I JUST told you that the entire stanza is about Iroha, which the line afterwards undeniably confirms. Stop being such a sore loser and trying to "no u" this when your arguments are this bad.

https://x.com/washedhorse/status/2021804568397684834#mSome weird and interesting stuff here about the text that flashes when the Lunarian grabbed Kaguya after the collab. Some of the comments are interpeting it as them trying to overwrite her memories with a more traditional version of the Kaguya story, where the emperor is the love interest.
>>4527635The potential is limitless.>>4527656That idea gets extra screwy when considering the traditional version in-universe came about as a corruption of Kaguya's tale by people of the past.
>>4527627That's not necessarily meeting Iroha in person. She literally tears up at the sight of Iroha cause she can finally meet her.
>>4527667It's YachiIro not IroYachi
>>4527668What if Yachiyo wants to be topped sometimes?

The artist of manga version is getting destroyed by chink fans on Xitter, apparently he was exposed as a hetfag that openly dislikes GL/BL, and added a scene that never existed in the movie (Iroha's brother touches Kaguya's chin). Well deserved I guess.
>>4527765Reading through those posts is crazy. The Japanese are pissed, but the Chinese yurifags are on a whole other level. The tweet that started the controversy seems to be the artist's commission(?) guidelines. Machine translation:>If you have any preferences (color/monochrome, background, character design only, etc.), please let me know when making your request.>Not accepted: fan works / R-18 / gore / ryona>BL and yuri (GL) are also difficult for me to accommodate… (Bromance and friendship are OK!)>Additionally, I may decline requests that I judge to be difficult. Thank you for your understanding.
>>4527789I thought they were just raving on their homepage but they actually went to the artist twitter? Honestly that's a bad look in JP.That said I have read the manga, and while the added scenes is not that erroneous nor I think the manga is problematic I do think the artist was indeed uncomfortable drawing yuri. The 2nd volume would be where all the emotional scene happens so if the manga quality doesn't improve it's concerning.
>>4527789I mean this is a far cry from saying he hates yuri. Knowing your weaknesses as an artist is good.Accepting to be an artist for a yuri manga when you arent confident in your ability to portray yuri is concerning though. That being said, this could also be an opprtunity for him to learn to get used to yuri. I dont really see anything wrong with Volume 1 of the manga and he has a very strict script to follow. As usual Chinks are beyond saving with their insane reactions.
>>4527612>>4527626All I know is that this type of gold coin was used in medieval Japan and the Edo period.
>>4527789The sad part is the production team and editor didn't advocate to find a yuri pro for the story to match with the story like we got with omae gotoki or mygo. It is not too surprising that the team that storyboarded the movie to perfection wasn't involved in the manga as closely and they just hired a random artist to do it without close oversight. At least the LN author had clear direction.>>4527859Probably also connects to the tsukuyomi currency fuju. Did anyone learn if that was a reference so something?
>>4527470Make sure to prepare if you haven't used your vr in years. I had to spend hours figuring out why I had to set it up again because windows updates broke the drivers for some reason. I logged into vrchat for the first time in years and sanrio promos were all over the place without me doing anything so I guess they do big events. I'm curious if they are going to put the kaguya event front and center tomorrow with any visuals or posters from the movie. I am a little worried about giant avatars and other people talking over everything in general based on the weird shit I saw just roaming the sanrio lobby for a few minutes today. Need to find out how to hide people so they don't cover the stage. >>4527494I started looking into how to record just in case but I probably won't figure it out in time for the first show. I'll be able to get it ready for then next one at least.
>>4527869You're a real trooper anon, thanks for the effort.
Kotobukiya announced scale figures for Kaguya and Yachiyo. No prototypes yet and no Iroha. These must've been planned before release so I guess they didn't want to go all-out before knowing the reception, but I have no doubt they'll make Iroha too. The Kaguya figure will be in the Tsukuyomi outfit so that's what I'd expect for her too.
>>4527883Maybe down the line within 2 years they'll announce a kaguiro handshake figure. It took a while for a sulemio hand holding one, but it did happen. Heck, even Nana just got one where Nana is kissing Hachi from that one manga panel. It just sucks that there's a lack of art and merch where the girls are in pairs at the moment, but I'm sure that will change.
This had me cackling for 10 minutes
>>4527858This is my problem with this situation. Knowingly taking a contract when you know you're struggling with the thing you're asked draw is unprofessional on the artist's part, but this is also a bad look on the production team who decided to hire that artist for a yuri project, instead of giving that chance to an actual yuri mangaka.
>>4527858to be fair, i wouldnt want a yuri product to be done by an artist who isnt even confident/comfortable enough to do a skeb commission of yuri. There arent even any rules on skeb, you can ignore the prompt completely if you so desire and theres nothing for the commissioner to do.Especially when we're in an age where we have tons of ACTUAL yuri mangaka who would kill to do so.
>>4527901The manga is rushed and the art is mediocre but I wouldn't blame the producers too much. It's a low-priority adaptation of a movie that was a massive gamble for everyone involved, they didn't anticipate it would blow up and everything related to it would sell out and get scrutinized, manga included. I feel the backlash over the artist is overblown so far, there's nothing that warrants thinking she's ruining the story or misrepresenting the characters' relationships. Iroha still turns into a blushing mess around Yachiyo, the comments when Iroha defeats Kaguya's suitors cheer KaguIro and IroKagu on, Kaguya is startled by Mikado touching her chin, Iroha gets very angry and it's clear from his reaction he did it to rile her up. It's just the typical subpar manga adaptation of an anime original like the vast majority of them, I don't see any malice over simple lack of care.
>wake up at 3:40 for the vrchat concert>realise i woke up on the wrong fucking daygod dammit, was a rough day at work because of this. i am excited for 4 am tomorrow though, going to watch and record the concert.
>>4527906Have you ever heard of going back to sleep anon? It's not like you are kept awake by an alient streamer girl screaming into her mic all night.
>>4527903Yeah just look at this page. Does this look like someone is trying to avoid yuri for dear life? The author is doing what is asked of them. Nothing more, nothing less. The manga has some nice reimagining of some scenes and, like on this page, actually appears gayer than the movie scene...This retarded overreaction just makes yuri fans look unreasonable and makes everyone involved more careful to engage with this genre again. They are acting like a homophobe got their hands on the manga and turned everything het or some other delusion...
>>4527926The mangaka is getting dogpiled, by Chinese and English twitter of course. I don't feel that bad about it since the manga is whatever, though I will say it had an uphill battle matching up to the anime and its extreme level of detail plus the songs which just don't translate to a format with no audio. It's annoying seeing crazies crap on it for a different reason when it's clear they're ignorantly/maliciously cherrypicking. Additions like pic related are ignored but the mangaka is clearly a yuri hater for failing to include the second toothbrush in Iroha's room.
>>4527883Just looking it up because I'm not too familiar but Kotobukiya figures look like they are occasionally less than $100 so these may not be too expensive unless they do very elaborate designs. I hope they didn't set the production size they'd make before finding out how well everything else was selling because if so this thing is going to sell out instantly too.
>>4527927You know chinks and xitter are beyond retarded when even 4chan has more reasonable and nuanced takes. /u/ is generally more sane than most, but if this was really as bad as they pretended, we would be the first to make a big wave over it. But sometimes having a brain helps prevent this kind of overreaction.
>>4527928I have all the Pokémon trainer ARTFX-J and yeah, they're usually between 70-90€ before taxes. They're some of the best figures in terms of price-quality ratio.I don't know how it will work with these figures specifically, but for the others I own there was a set preorder period rather than a fixed production size, and they were produced to fit preorders. They only showed 2D art for now so they must be at least half a year away from opening preorders, they have time to adjust their expectations if necessary.
I don't get why people here keep pretending the movie was a big gamble or that they couldn't expect success... it was entirely financed by Netflix, so they had no monetary risk and it was made by a million high profile people with really good animation quality. It was going to get recognition either way and they absolutely could expect reasonable success. You'd have to be entirely blind to believe this was going to be a huge flop.
>>4527931Netflix only financed the movie, any other material is Kadokawa and there was no guarantee the buzz would be so big that all of that would also be successful. It's clear from observation they underestimated it, like the novel getting two reprints announced before release.
ok this is the second fanart with finger condoms I have seen... have those gotten into style with lesbians lately? I never saw anybody use these in real life before... Even girls with long nails usually just clip 'em or take off the fake nails.

>>4527932You dont make Saniro concert collabs in a month, that shit was planned way ahead. If they had no confidence in the movie so many things wouldn't have been done ahead of time. Again, I don't see any scenario where a movie with this many high profile creators could reasonably not get popular. The Saori Hayami fags and Vocaloid oldfags alone were going to eat it up without question.Though admittedly Kadokawa is known to be quite out of touch.

Due to 'tism among other reasons I'm procrastinating getting into this, but I'm worried fandom will be dead by the time I'm ready. How long do you think is the lifeline of this movie and are they doing anything at all about it? Maybe a gacha collab since that seems hot right now. Who are the notable artists that contribute much to the fan community? (Like BeSong with sulemio)And what REALLY made this movie a hit? Yuri is popular now?
>>4527974Just watch the damn movie.
>>4527976No!
I'm glad I went into this movie blind. Didn't even bother with the trailer. Only heard about there being 3 girls singing a Miku song and saw some animal ears here and there, so I thought it was gonna be some weird fantasy isekai genre and was pleasantly suprised.
Saw the panel people are bitching about and talk about overdramatic. It's like they miss that his whole thing in Tsukuyomi is basically an exaggerated yume husbando bait and thus the manga played into him larping. He's still not serious. People are acting like the manga is gonna have a fucking Mikado x Kaguya ending or Kaguya is shown liking it or something.
>The author is removing the yuri elements!>Such as?>Uuuh she forgot the second toothbrush, which we noticed after someone on twitter pointed it out a week after the movie came out.High level discussion on there as always.
>>4527974Don't be a pretentious idiot and watch the movie. You've already fucked up by going in spoiled, You're not gonna have anyone to cope with if you watch it after the hype dies. Besides it might become a Big event in Yuri history with every artist making doujinshi, inspiring new mangaka and being the first Yuri of a new generación just like Bloom into You was.
>>4527986To me that scene makes Kaguya feel even more gay. Right before that we see Mami passing out just from Mikado talkin to her. But when he goes to flirt to Kaguya she shows zero interest and looks more creeped out than anything. Also while Mikado is a fan of Kaguya the reason he flirts with her is to poke at Iroha because he knows from previous streams that other coming on to Kaguya bother Iroha. The whole KASSEN fight he keeps poking at Iroha in different ways to try and get her to get over her issues and fight him seriously

Unless they intended to have an Iroha avatar perform alongside Kaguya on stage it wouldn't really have been that interesting anyway.
Back to sleep, I guess. Sucks.
Not sure what the peak was but I saw 23k at one point.
Speaking of music, I feel like the song covers on the official Youtube channel that don't appear in the movie are criminally overlooked. In fact if I hadn't checked the paste in the OP I wouldn't even have known they existed. The management really knew which songs to pick. They fit Yachiyo and Kaguya like a glove. And they are all popular Vocaloid songs, right?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsGjcLVI6X4Torinoco City has a line about how her word is missing "color" (Iro). It also is about meeting someone in the world of 0s and 1s (aka cyberspace). The past and future selves intersect. Insanely on point. As if the song was made for this character!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiovwU3mJNEDreaming Island is so weird as a Kaguya song at first. It doesn't seem to fit her character at all. Until you consider that this could be Kaguya on the moon watching Earth. Or this could be Kaguya 8000 years ago, drowning in loneliness.Either way hering Natsuyoshi perform such a soft song is incredible.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1O_i9nZEPITaketori Overnight Sensation is literally a song about the Bamboo Cutter story, so it was meant to be. Notably this is actually a duet song between the Emperor and Kaguya, but Natsuyoshi is singing BOTH parts with different voices. Again, a song that seems very outside her vocal wheelhouse, but actually works amazingly.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enzi3ZZmFoELonely Universe is a Yachiyo song, you can't convince me otherwise. This should have just been in the movie, I don't care where you cram it in! The song is just full of yearning.I guess Aqu3ra songs are just perfect for Yachiyo.
>>4528213The level of detail is too much. I can only imagine all the stuff we still missed. I bet the directors commentary would end up being 20 hours long because they have to pause on every other frame. Listening to these will be a good substitute for missing today's live.
By the way, Tsukuyomi isn't just the god of the moon, but also god of the oceans. So it's obvious why Yachiyo picked that particular name.
>>4528213There is also Tell Your World which might be my favorite of the bunch. It was originally a Miku song ad for the Google Chrome browser of all things... But the lyrics totally work this way too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24OIBLd8uu8
>>4528204I saw someone do this too lol
Eventually there was an actual Sanrio staff avatar speaking in Japanese apologizing profusely to everyone.
They have expanded the schedule to make up for the lost performance.
>>4525127Some people think that Kaguya's irises are actually supposed to be bamboo poles. Which is thematically appropiate and all, but I don't really see it.

That was super cute. My recording is super scuffed cause I wasn't sure how the event went down but with the next couple of events, I'll be sure to get some cleaner recordings. The concert was chou tanoshii. I'm glad it worked perfectly this time. I never did anything like this in VR before and the effects were very cool to see. I did record it but I'm not sure how good it turned out since all the avatars were blocking a little bit of the stage. I wish they did repeat showings every day at different times to make it easier for people to see again. Waiting until march seems like forever.
>>4528575There's another one in 5 hr 45min to make up for yesterday. >>4528252
I just watched my recording and for some reason it looks like it only captured my left eye instead of a composite so it is way off center. Anyway I couldn't possibly post it because I didn't realize that moving with the music looked so embarrassing and disorientating when I watch it play back in 2d. I was the only one in the crowd to wave back at kaguya at the end of the show...>>4528579I'm glad they added times for the other half of the world but unfortunately I can't go to those new showings. Maybe one day when I have insomnia I'll log on to cheer on irokagu again. I really hope they do other shows now since this seemed very popular. Not sure how common big events are but 10s of thousands of people attending this has to be a good turnout.
So was it just playback with a random person moving a Kaguya model or was it a real live perfomance?

I think this author really captures Roka's feelings in a very nuanced way. She is happy for Iroha having Kaguya as her life goal, but also has her own regrets. The word choice is so good too."Isn't the moon beautiful?" that cliche line... really hits differently in this context.

>>4528743Whoa I really thought this was actually drawn by WataNare's illustrator for a second there. Really captures that style.
>>4525115Oh my god I just realized something about this scene. When Iroha works on the unfinished song from her dad, Kaguya listens to it and recognizes it. But right afterwards Iroha talks about how it was a song that was never finished, so if she recognized it as Yachiyo's debut song she would probably have asked about that. This means Kaguya doesn't actually know Remember. So where does she recognize this melody from? It's when Iroha sang it to her as a baby!! To Kaguya this song has nothing to do with Yachiyo and is all about Iroha's care for her. Which makes the moment she hears her sing Reply across space even more powerful. To add to that Kaguya came up with the lyrics for the first half, while Iroha "replied" to those lyrics with the second half. Then Yachiyo turned the melody into her genuine feelings for Iroha, wishing for her to be happy and live, saving her life in the process.
>>4528754There's thousands of completely untagged art on twitter that's not on boorus unfortunately.>>4528756It's tracing a piece of Watanare official art, not simply emulating the style.

>>4528768The problem is that this is a brainless bot. I hate bots. It just randomly posts everything tagged yuri from danbooru without any sense. It has reposted pictures that were literally just two posts above it, it has posted futanari art in other threads, because it doesn't have the human intelligence to tell. Bots dont post out of passion for yuri or because they care about the works. This trash just posts in every image dump thread without any point. Never comments about the art, never contributes, never replies. Might as well just post a danbooru link at the start of the thread so everyone can look at the tag themselves.
>>4528769Pretty sure anybody can change their model in the model creator of Tsukuyomi, but that wasn't the point. It's just goonerbait massive tits cheesecake that doesnt really get the proportions or feeling of the movie right is all.
>>4528757It would be really funny if Kaguya never listens to Yachiyo's songs outside the times where she was directly at her concerts. Makes them more original instead of being stuff Yachiyo remembers from her past.>>4528766Aww, it's the artstyle from the Remember music video.
is there any way to turn kaguya into a number? like how iroha becomes 168 and yachiyo becomes either 800 or 8000, i forget

>>4528984That was mine and many other people's reactions that I saw when we first watched it. The second and onward viewings make the movie blow other 10/10s out of the water.
>>4528988The real ending gave me a "Wait, just like that?" feeling, while the first "reunion" felt much more....cinematic? I dont know, I'm not finding the right words.I'll have to give it a second viewing then, knowing what we know now. I was a bit suspicious of Yachiyo since scene 1 and figured she'd be related to Iroha's dead dad in some way, and oooof that was waaaaay off.But before that, time to read all the discussions and reactions from the past 3 weeks I avoided.
>>4529005Watching the movie again and seeing everyone doing the same to search for all the clues and hidden meanings is really something special.
Two other scenes I really liked while I'm still in full gushing mode:1. There was a moment in the collab concert with Kaguya and Yachiyo circling Iroha and then cuts to closeups of their faces (wish I had a gif). Super, super intimate and moody moment, and now even more meaningful knowing the ending. 2. The guitar rift starting right as moon people are spawning. Fucking love stuff like this, gives off that "FINAL BATTLE" feeling.
FUCK, more thoughts3. Was that a freaking Miku song at one point?4. Why does the previous thread have so many comments about multiple timelines. There is only one timeline and Kaguya is the only one who looped. There is no sad and old Iroha, ever. Our Iroha, the only Iroha, writes her song, sings, meets the slug, reunites with Yachiyo and then gets the Boston Dynamics job.
>>4529033>Was that a freaking Miku song at one point? There were multiple Vocaloid songs. Being not well Vocaloid-versed, and not knowing this the movie had this going on, World Is Mine floored me.
>>4529035Yeah, World Is Mine was the only one I caught.

>>4525115Somehow we never linked to the previous thread, so some people may miss the initial conversations and info compilations.>>4520159
>>4529033>Why does the previous thread have so many comments about multiple timelinesBecause a lot of people don't understand what a stable loop is and how fucky time travel can actually get. It's not that absurd for a logical mind to believe there to be an original timeline without Yachiyo, because logically kaguya would have had to come to Earth at least once before time traveling in the first place. The fact that the moment time travel happens the timeline was always different as time travel in this universe seems to be deterministic is beyond many people's comprehension.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to mention this, but Yachiyo's greeting has some double meaning too. The "Yaoyaro" is a typical Vtuber greeting, integrating the name into a greeting. But the more interesting part is that Yaccho calls her fans "kamigami", which means gods. Aka gods and godddesses in the EN sub. But this has an extra layer. In Japanese entertainment, creators are often refered to as "kami" by otaku. A kami composer or a kami artist are geniuses above the rest to them. And as Tsukuyomi is a hub for creators, that means Yachiyo sees everyone as these super cool artists.

I wouldn't mind going blind for my digital wife.

>>4529277A bunch of movers worked for a sea slug in the 2000s and you worry about people's eyes?
>>4529299I doubt they knew they were working for a seaslug. Yachiyo probably just made a contract and said she wasn't going to be available at the time, so they should move the stuff and her pet in without her.

>>4528984>9.5/10 if the movie ended here>9/10 once you include the real ending because...even though it fits in a lot of ways, it just seemed a little too convenient and too fast?Nooooo fucking way. It would have been horrible if it ended there. Not only because it would be an open ending, but also because this isnt a happy ending at all. After all that suffering Yachiyo is just stuck being a digital ghost forever? That's pure garbage. The whole point of this movie is to fight the bad ending and go beyond it.How is suffering for 8000 years to meet her lover again and then said lover spending 10 years of her life purely on research to give her a body too convenient? They took the hits and kept walking hand in hand.
>>4529247Fushi can apparently erase people's memories (a horrifying bit of lore that was dropped really casually), so technically Yachiyo can do whatever she wants without repercussions.

>>4529482The "lubrication function" must have taken some extensive testing to get just right. Some people say they know ever part of their girlfriend, but Iroha actually means it.
>>4525115Question. What do you think about this siutation: After she sings the song to the moon, Iroha has an epiphany that Yachiyo might be Kaguya due to context clues. But did Yachiyo actually want her to find out?I know that sounds stupid, because half the movie she basically asks her to figure it out indirectly, but there are some conflicting pieces of evidence. On one hand Yachiyo clearly ran away and cut all contact with Iroha. When she tries to message her it doesn't succeed. Yachiyo is also hidden in her private room on the Tsukuyomi server that nobody can find. Considering Iroha has been offline for like a week and all, you would think she would at least try to contact her to find out if she is alright. But she doesn't. This indicates, that either out of insecurity or cowardice, Yachiyo is running from her confrontation with Iroha, hoping she will never figure it out.But then there are moments that counter this interpretation. Fushi was wandering around, clearly on the lookout for Iroha. There is no way Yachiyo wasn't aware of this. It implies she set this up so Fushi would lead her to her appartment. When Iroha arrives in her private room, she doesn't seem the least bit surprised, just a little melancholy. She also prepared a whole ass presentation slide for the explanation. After the reveal she talks about enjoying their reunion and apologizes, but that was probably something she practiced for decades in her head.Yachiyo seems genuinely fine with letting Iroha forget the truth and keeping her distance, but she also clearly was ready for the possibility Iroha would figure it out and pursue her. She just never seemed to imagine what happens after, as she was shocked by Iroha wanting to hear about her past and even told her she was fine with keeping things as they are, not daring to hope that Iroha would want to stay with her.Am I reading this right? Is Yachiyo running away or did she facilitate the confrontation throughout the whole movie? Both?
>>4529517This is good, I guess I can forego trying to record my next visit now although I may still want to try recording a 3D capable video since the effects were really fun to see flying around everywhere.
>>4529523A woman's feelings are complicated, I think she had everything ready for when Iroha demanded an explanation but had already given up on being with her. I can think of a lot of reasons why she would give up: insecurity about her age, not looking the same, her Yachiyo persona, being literal data, not wanting to dump an old lady's trauma on a 17 year old girl. But I also think that seeing Kaguya and Iroha having fun and streaming together awakened such powerful memories that she couldn't help but hope Iroha would figure it out and find her
>>4529555This is basically my take. She convinced herself it was impossible, but part of her still held onto that "but what if". I think Fushi acted independently, recognizing what Yachiyo really wanted, and betting on Iroha's resolve.

>Kaguya is Kaguya>The brother and cronies are the rejected suitors>The not-DoTA game is the impossible tasks/treasures>Iroha is the bamboo cutting elder >Iroha is also the Emperor who tried to reach out to Kaguya on the moon after she leftWhat else from the movie is linked to the original legend?
https://www.pixiv.net/novel/show.php?id=27310012Nice Japanese fanfic set after the timeskip. Sweet domestic fluff. Iroha having a possessive fixation on being the one responsible for giving Kaguya her body is really good.
>>4529674We went over this last thread. You can check there if you want. You are wrong about Kassen being the treasures or whatever though. The impossible task for the 5 suitors was to defeat Iroha in combat lolAlso the brother is not a suitor, his gamer name is literally "Mikado". He represents the Emperor. The twist being that he isnt actually interested in kaguya and neither is she in him. Because they are both gay.You also forgot the whole "humansa fight the moon people to keep kaguya, but lose" part, which also happens in the movie. If you didn't watch the ray MV, which is the canon epilogue to the movie, you don't even know about the whole burying the ship on Mount Fuji thing, so you wouldnt get that analogy to the elxir of immortality being burned alongside the other gifts of Kaguya.
>>4529584Cute.>>4529587Extra cute. They must have reused Iroha's expression from some other scene to get it to match up so perfectly.
>>4529555>insecurity about her ageWhich is funny because early on in the movie she talks about how age gap relationships are A-ok with her. Then again, she for some reason keep appearing in loli form in front of Iroha like she is pretending to be younger on purpose.
>>4529559>I think Fushi acted independentlyBut then why was she not at all surprised about Iroha's arrival in her private space? Without Fushi there is no way Iroha could have ever made it there, so Yachiyo must have known Fushi would lead Iroha there.
>>4529779You dumb fuck >>4529482Can we all report this bot already so it gets banned?
>>4529523The other thing that is worth keeping in mind is that for the first time in 8,000 years, Yachiyo had no idea what comes next. Even at her most lost, she knows that eventually time will return to the moment she left. But once she reaches that moment, she's as blind to the future as anyone else. You can hardly blame her for being uncertain in that situation.
>>4529802I mean... she had no idea what would happen in those 8000 years either. In fact until she realized she would be Yachiyo, which from the way the montage was done probably didnt happen until quite close to the internet age, she had no idea she would even be able to meet Iroha again. Getting her spaceship back and building enough connections to start Tsukuyomi were plot points that clearly took a lot of effort and challenge for her. Until she really figured out that she would be Yachiyo to her there was no fated encounter. So if anything, the time from starting Tsukuyomi to Kaguys return to the moon is the only time she ever felt certain about what would happen.
People are making whole music videos already. This is really good https://x.com/ranersha1/status/2023441710450090270

>>4530492Feels like these official interviews and commentary never help with the yuri and only give them more chances to downplay it. e.g shit like the bandai statement or GBC writer.
>>4530514If someone wants to believe a single word in an interview undoes the years of love and care they put into storyboarding, animating, and voice acting to make their everlasting love for each other into the central theme of the movie, then I think they probably never had a thought of their own to begin with.

>>4530514It has to be some cultural thing related to social pressure. All the anime interviews I've seen in my life are generic "please watch my shit, I promise it won't make you mad" garbage. >>4530542I didn't bother asking her. Most anime, manga, or comics I recommend her have yuri or subtext in it anyways. Sadly she's into BL and het romance more, but she likes madoka and Nana and her toom is full of those things and has mentioned she thought the manga will end with Nana and Hachi together, so I'm pretty sure she's picked up on all the "I love yu" and falling in love lines.
