Kayoko may have thought herself as nothing more than a stepping stone for Mia, while Mia actually subtly saw Kayoko as her savior. Likewise, Kayoko truly wanted to be friends with Mia, while Mia may have thought Kayoko was just doing her job as a member of the student council. The two were left in stalemate until the time came that Mia transferred out of school. By then, any chance of them revealing themselves to each other would have been almost meaningless. No doubt both of them were trying to move on with their lives, but as fates would have it, never could move past each other.Personally, this was my favorite arc outside of the main one. Violent menhera is of course also nice, but this was just a good wholesome story. I hope we continue to see more of all of the side couples.
