>>4595185>Starfallen: Strength (Dating sim/visual novel with /u/ options (features TWO female protagonists with their own love interests))And the second one has as options one guy and two girly-looking people that are actually they/them and he/them. At least the first mc can bang her older teacher or a boobplate archer.
>>4595218Considering two of her options are clearly women, you can safely ignore the they/them bullshit as usual. Great that she wants to be called a they, like she has multiple personalities, but physically she is still a woman.
>>4595184Blood of Caro has amazing production values, fairly deep writing, a decent length and serious yuri. If it wasn't for the slightly below average translation, it would definitely be the best VN I read since the FLOWERS quadrology.
>>4595532before i buy it, does it have a happy yuri ending or is it some despair shit?
>>4595566Happy
>>4595567yeah, i just checked the last thread. and the official post talking about the MARRIAGE LONG LIFE VAMP YURI ENDING? yep, thats a buy. as always, chink yuri is more faithful to yuri than a lot of japanese yuri these days.
>>4595570No, chinkshit is usually really terrible, vague, hides or censors yuri and doesn't deliver at all.You are thinking of the very rare exceptions where they can smuggle real yuri past their government. And there are several high quality yuri VNs coming from the JP side... So why are you forcing this fake point I wonder?
>>4595581weird, i read wholesome chinese yuri all the time? meanwhile yuri hime cant stop making fetish smut lesbian porn where everyone chokes each other and call it "toxic yuri".
>>4595583No you don't. You read some shit on webtoon or webnovel sites which circumvent Chinese censorship. They have no officially released yuri manga over there anymore. And aside from the fact that "wholesome" is you preference and not an actual inidcator of good yuri, there are still hundreds of fluff pieces to drown in on the JP side. People just get tired of it and want something more extreme on occasion. Japanese yuri has been around for so long that it needs works that shake things up on occasion. And even then some of the most successful yuri manga of the recent years are stuff like Whishper Me a Love Song (wholesome). The biggest yuri thing thing in anime this year was Cosmic Princess Kaguya which is obssessed with undooming doomed yuri. Light Novels? A yuri harem comedy like Watanare or Buying My Classmate for 5000 yen a Week (sort of toxic, but also about healing two fundamentally broken girls). And if we bring it back to games/VNs, the upcoming WataMari is just pure cute couple core. Magical Princess was totally full of wholesome yuri (it's idea of an "evil" daughter is her being slightly naughty). VampBride was full of old-school one-true-binding-love autism.Sure you got some more psychological or weird stuff like Crymelight coming up or Monophobia coming up, but those have flavor.
>>4595589>And aside from the fact that "wholesome" is you preference and not an actual inidcator of good yuriwholesome means in this context that it is true to the white lily in terms of purity. why do you have such a meltdown over chinese getting in touch with yuri and understanding it better than what the current, toxic lesbian smut, trend in japan has been? im not saying that there are no japanese works depicting proper yuri anymore, im saying that currently the chinese just do it better. you should stop seething so much.
>>4595590>purityfagOf course. Typical Western fan with no understanding of the genre. Yuri has always been dirty, unconventional and against the grain. Stop projecting your purity obssession on it. Chinks don't understand shit. 90% of all the "Male MC in a yuri setting" webnovels come from Chinkland. Literally more then 80% of chink yuri is wuxia/xanxia stuff with super toxic leads that try to kill each other or that constantly get involved in melodrama plots.>shits on JP yuri, while praising the country that tries to censor all yuri>meltdownI was literally just correcting you. You can't wildly flail around yourself and then pretend like people attacked you.At this point I can only assume you are baiting...
>>4595602nta but as someone that read chink novels every day, you're full of shit, please don't talk about stuff you don't know about, you and the other anon you're replying are the same type of retard, always trying to flame others into miserable pointless arguments based on personal bias rather than just enjoying what you like without trying to shit on others enjoyment
Sigh.
>>4595666>I read chink novels every dayYou have my condolences, that's a horrible fate you've chosen for yourself. Or you miraculously escaped wuxia brainrot, but I have my doubts.Unlike the actual retard, I do not believe all chink yuri to be bad, but the margin is very skewed. And chinks absolutely have zero focus on "purity" in their yuri. Way too many of their stories are about bisluts who changed from marrying some guy who turned out to be a bastard to a woman. Japs definitely make a lot of bad stuff too, but the most popular yuri works are pretty much still the gold standard.Honestly, I was fucking recommending Blood of Caro, but there always has to be some idiot who has to immediately become a chink praise bot the moment anything halfway decent comes out of that circle.
>>4595583Same, I read a lot of Webcomics from China.Just ignore the schizo.
I read World of Horror has some yuri in it. But you have to recruit the right characters or some such. Anyone know details?
>>4595673It's not schizo to point out the numbers... Just because you stick to one niche doesnt mean it's representative of the whole? And you are literally siding with the schizo who pretends all Japanese yuri media is toxic and lesbian porn. Do you have selective reading or some shit?PS: Chinese yuri webcomics literally circumvent Chinese law and can't even be published in China, which is extra ironic.
>>4595675There isn't really any explicit yuri. You can unlock a female playable protag who is a lesbian. She can have a female side-kick and some encounters are different because she is a lesbian, but it's really not yuri by itself. More like, easily goggable? We will see if the next big update adds anything more interesting.
>>4595185https://store.steampowered.com/app/4997050/How_to_Write_a_Book_without_Getting_Killed/Comedic RPGmaker game about an author fighting through fantasy worlds to write her book. You play as her assistant whose gender you can choose. Both versions can have a romance with the author.
>>4595666>enjoying what you likeWeird, I agree with Satan.
Finally, I got all achievements. I am sad to see the idiot couple's final dialogue. Dante is kind of a bitch, even if they wanted to kill her, behead her and present said head to their manager. Now the wait for the 3rd Circle begins...
>>4595745Don't trust Virgils, is all I say.
If anything, the creators circumventing laws to post yuri wherever it is should be cause for praise. And if I'm being honest, there's a lot of weird shit going on with many Japanese creations lately. I hope a better age comes soon.
>>4595758The point was that it's not Chinese yuri, it's a bunch of expats or Taiwanese people who make most of this stuff and the ones who are in China are doing it hidden away. There are almost no Chinese yuri publications. So there is also no quality standard, just whatever some underground writers do. >buuut Japanese creations are weird latelyNo brainlet, this has literally always been a thing. Yuri is a varied genre with lots of weird shit. Most Japanese yuri is completely normal. The popular stuff is still just the most basic stuff you expect. And chink stuff has many of the worst lows possible. This whole comparison is stupid in both directions.>>4595760Shut up about your off-topic /pol/shit.>>4595766Leave. Your trolling doesn't belong here.
>>4595532The japanese translation is more than decent, for people who know the languageI tried it in both english and japanese and the japanese one, while not perfect, is a lot better
>>4595767>Most Japanese yuri is completely normal. The popular stuff is still just the most basic stuff you expect. No don't tell him that. He's clinically retarded
>>4595771This is somewhat more common in JP/CN/KR translations towards each other, because their writing systems are similar. Japanese and Chinese are not that different, so many writing tricks work similarly in both directions and can be translated more easily.English on the other hand is not very compatible with these languages to begin with and no system that doesn't have characters that can represent whole sentences will ever perfectly capture it.
>>4595758What weird Japanese stuffJapan pumps out the same cancelled-after-two-volume school setting stuff over and over again. The only reason I even started paying attention to the webcomic scene, despite taking forever to get over the awkward names in Korean and Chinese webcomics, is the fact there is way more variety, and perhaps more importantly, way more stories centered around adults.
>>4596040Hilarious. One guy complains that Japanese yuri "lost its way" because it is too weird and toxic and fetishistic while chink stuff is allegedly full of purity, meanwhile this guy whines about it being too tame and samey while Korean slop and chink stuff is the stuff with extremes and variety.Obviously you are both wrong about both of your super skewed views. It's almost like everyone except for me is an idiot without nuance.
>>4596071>It's almost like everyone except for me is an idiot without nuance. The thing about this belief is just because it's delusional, doesn't mean it's wrong.
Bitches in this thread always ready to stab each other, huh?
I played the demo for the Guiding Spirit. It's that game where you customise a party and then send them on an adventure with a variety of events and paths. It's basically a one person D&D campaign.First of all, character customisation is crazy detailed. And that's for the best, considering you mostly don't control the characters and they have to be interesting on their own. You can pick sex, appearance and even sexual attraction right off the bat. There are so many traits and stats to choose from that it borders on overwhelming, but backstories, core memories and goals are still a bit limited (around 15 each, with some secret ones depending on class and race). But the dev said they have been adding more and more as development goes on, so the full game should have a bunch more. The demo is pretty short, but it gave me a decent idea of how it would work. I think the automated interactions work pretty well. You still roll dice, but your only infuence is if you as the Guiding Spirit give certain party members stat boosts. And at some intersections you can pick who will do what or split up etc.I tried a party of 6, which is a lot. One of the ladies barely got any scenes or reactions (though I did make her stoic), while others got a lot more attentio. The girl who's a halfling equivalent immediately started fliritng with the lizard lady mercenary in my party, which was fun. Of course it didnt go anywhere in the two chapters of the demo. You can absolutely fail the adventure. Party members can die and they can fuck each other up, depending on their traits. If you make a lunatic who craves violence, they aren't gonna be very stable, shocker. While there is also a difficulty selection it pretty much just decides your dice bonus during dice throws. Mostly how difficult the game is has a meter that takes into consideration the traits of your party. If you only got badly stat spread ranged fighters, you aren't gonna do well in combat.
>>4596094One interesting interaction was my uh... "pyromancer" who I gave a phobia of darkness. She freaked out in the tutorial dungeon, so my helpful bard held her hand through the whole dungeon so she would calm down.Right now you can only pick one negative trait in every category, so maybe it's balanced. I think total freedom would just make a lot of people pick endless super good traits. That being said there are neutral ones too that just add flavor.Picking stuff like the archaic speech quirk still cause some issues. The dialogue was really bad and broken, because the dev clearly just told the text to replace normal words with archaic ones and it doesn't work too well. But the dev is aware and trying to fix the dialogue issues. The first aventure (aka the 1.0 version of the game) is supposed to be finished this year, but they intend to add several more over time. With the framework they created you could theoretically have infinite kinds of adventures. Maybe this would be a good foundation for modding. Make custom user adventures, similar to CYOA engines.
>>4595186I was shocked to see that the only Elder Scrolls game with an extensive mod section was Daggerfall. I mean no judgement, that's pretty cool. But I took the liberty of giving Skyrim the same treatment, because let's face it, no matter how mid it is as a game, the modding community made it pretty amazing. Some examples:Serana Voice Add-on: The name is too basic to describe how big this mod is. Serana is the most in-depth companion after you apply this mod and the romance is stellarFlower Girls: Because of course someone added sex to SkyrimSeveral race mods: Because we need even more people to be racist about in this gameNot added: Visual and sound overhauls, because that's a pain in the buttockshttps://rentry.org/n4ugnvhf#the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim
>>4595184Bad news. Several games have been delayed to 2027.-Moon Princess-Neverway-Rizz DungeonGood news. Fairy Princess has a playtest build out right now, so we can actually see how yuri it is.https://store.steampowered.com/app/3387240/My_Fairy_Princess/
>>4596163>Fairy Princess has a playtest build out right nowIt's look good at least, I will try it.
Rune Factory 3 Special finally got a playable female character mod so there's a yuri way to play now. The mod swaps Shara and Micah so technically their het romance left intact but that still leaves 10 bachelorettes to pick from.https://www.nexusmods.com/runefactory3special/mods/9I've added it to the public mod paste and also updated a link for the Stardew rival events for Maru and Penny since I'd seen it got revived recently.
>>4596202Oh, that's interesting. There has been a female protag mod for the original RF3 for ages (Lesbian Weresheep edition it was called I think?), so I wondered why nobody ever used that as a foundation to do the same for Special.Seems the bathhouse is the bane of modder's existence yet again. And the extra mode has not been changed either, much like in RF4S mods. Too bad.
>>4596205yeah RF3 doesn't seem to hold the same reverence as RF4 does within the community so maybe that's why modding scene has been pretty non existent. I remember when RF4S came out and people were modding in gay romances within a week, but it was probably much much easier to just be switching the male and female protags around for that. Where as with RF3 you'd have to make a new model and sprite or do as this mod has done and switch an NPC into the role, but lose her romance in the process. Interestingly the person who documented the modding tools back in the day does actually have a sprite mod for a custom female protag but there's no dialogue updates with it. https://www.nexusmods.com/runefactory3special/mods/2
>>4596239I have to say, I thought the female MC design of the original femC mod for RF3 was really cute.On the other hand I think replacing MC with a bachelorette who is a real character actually imrpoves the game immensely, even over a genderswap.
>>4596263It's a cool workaround for sure, and since Rune Factory always kinda has a defacto bachelorette who's the face of any given game it makes sense to upgrade her into protag status. I've held off getting RF3 since I didn't care to play as a boy but now that I know this mod is out I'll probably pick it up in the next sale.
>>4596163Amazing. We finally achieved Mom status.
>>4596352I literally just hit that screen and was about to post that! What are the freaking odds? If I had known I wouldnt have given the parent such a manly name...
>>4596353Absolute hivemind moment. Ya can change the name later, no worries.
>>4596355I kinda want a default name, so I can address the daughter. I have no idea what the default characters were, so I just went with Riri.Anyway, the zodiac sign being baby Riri in animal pajamas is squee-worthy.
>>4596356Those cuties were truly adorable.
>>4596356My heart can't take this. I'm dying of preciousness.
Overdid it and have a lot of money left after the ad campaign for /mygame/. Wanted to make sure I beat the cryptos, camwhores, AIslop...Might have to run the campaign again or run another ad.
In more un/lit/urate news.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtonbiPjtE0Anyone seen this game? It's a VN/Rhythm game hybrid. I dunno the trailer uses some yuri imagery to me. Who knows.
>>4596473Looks like a compilaton of different stories. And I don't see any yuri. Is this "two girls on screen together" level again?
>>4596391Ah the childhood friend. I really wonder if they grow up together after the timejumo. The game page only shows her at this age.>>45964536 year old kid btw.
>>4596514More like my vibe detector which 60% of the time works every time.
>>4596519My gaydar didn't pick anything up from the trailer at least. Maybe with more context on the game page there could be more. I'd not hold my breath though.
>>4596352Finally... it's (Me)
Langrisser Sea of Time looks very good. You can play as a female this time around, and if the older Langrisser is any indication, you can possibly romance female characters.
>>4596545Langrisser has always been one of the straightest franchises in existence, so I have my doubts. They would be the type to put in the effort to make a bunch of male love interests for femC.
>>4596202>>4595186Thank you very much for your contributions. I have added them to the main paste. Just for convenience I have merged RF3 and RF3S into one section.
I legitimately love everything about this game's presentation. Once you pick mom, she is also gets a much more feminine sprite. The way the chibis are drawn melts me. And that ultra badass martial arts teacher who was the country's former military advisor... holy shit that design's sick as hell. And of course baby Riri immediately gets taught martial arts.
>>4596605I think what impresses me the most is how good the translation is. A bit formal at times, but that is because the Chinese is also super formal and poetic. In fact there is so much translated poetry in this and it somehow... works? Whoever is translating this is incredibly skilled. This is just completely abnormal for Chinese games. They never have good EN translations like this!
>>4596609Based on the drillmaster ad I am assuming it still gets pronouns wrong? Which could indicate MTL if so. I've always thought it strange how MTL is still basically as dogshit as it was 6 years ago when LLMs have come such a long way in the same period. Not expecting it to match good translators, but the shit you see in manga/doujin MTLs...dear god.
Interesting. So many mechanics and ideas are super obviously copied from Volcano Princess. This may very well be the most direct inspiration I've seen yet. But there are also some refreshing new ideas. Like having to decide on how to cash out allowances, setting curfews which influence how long the daughter can be outside and do things and so on. As you mostly play the daughter, you would want to give yourself as much as possible. But as a parent these choices can have some bad consequences. Really makes you feel both sides of the coin, unlike in VP or Matgical Princess.>>4596619>Drillmaster's pronounsThis stood out to me too, because it literally never happens anywhere else. All pronouns are extremely accurate and consistent. This leaves me with 2 theories:1. This is intentional. Maybe Xie pretended to be a man when she was the military advisor. She has a slightly androgynous look, and this newspaper is written by official outside sources who might not know her true sex.2. Whoever translated that paper might have translated this before they knew that Xie is a woman and they haven't fixed this yet, because there are mountains of text as is.>MTLs haven't improvedThey definitely have, but not the free versions. Only commercial models with quite a bit more power have actually been getting better. As cursed as Youtube's auto-dubbing feature sounds, it is still quite impressive how well it manages to translate the spoken word in so many languages. And google translate/deepL are fairly reliable these days too, so some free software is usable.
Ah yes, the busty onee-san teacher flirting with the 11 year old girl (she says it was a joke after this, but how else can you even interpret this interaction?).She didn't get an introduction screen, so she is probably not a proper love interest unfortunately. But that is still a pretty interesting move by the devs...
>>4596622Google Translate recently became complete dogshit (at least) for Asian languages specifically because they switched from their old flawed but consistent model to a new LLM that produces slop instead.
>>4596684I haven't experienced anything like that myself. I translated a Chinese fanfic using google recently and it was impressively consistent and accurate.
>>4596699Sounds like you were fooled by plausible-sounding slop. That's what LLMs do.
>>4596706Nope. I also read the English version of the fanfic first. I was doing it specifically to test the accuracy. Considering it was translated to Chinese by a human first and then back to English by google, it's impressive how accurate it was. It only got a couple subject/object mix-ups in 100+ pages.
