(Banging a chick you meet at a friend's wedding? Probably totally safe. Banging a chick you pick up at a bar when you're both tipsy, and it's in a blue city? Could easily become a rape charge the next morning if the girl decides you give her the ick.)

>>736305059>This games level design makes me not want to playOnirism has one big problem. It is sold as a 3D platformer, so people approach it with the wrong expectations and burn out from the friction. You just are not given the map, objective system and layered rewards of a game like that.Had it been clearer and better delivered, that you're playing a first person shooter with benefits (like a 90s version of Metroid Prime, or Far Cry 1 with an inventory) there wouldn't been the same animus against it.
My bf told me it's empty boring garbage and the gameplay is ass and it's not even a hot game.
Well he's basically right. As a porn game it's massively inferior to their VN, See No Evil, and despite all the stats and equipment it's not particularly deep as a stategy game. Despite the fairly large roster of characters and all the recruitable monsters you're encouraged to stick with the same small group of people throughout because the good ending is unlocked by forming a "bond" with a character and it becomes progressively harder to unlock bond status the more you get. You move into bigger forts to be able to recruit more people because the main quest requires you to do it more than you actually want to get a fancier place with more non-entity peons wandering around. Once you figure out that enemies will aggro onto the first person who gets near them the game becomes much easier because you just switch your "main" character to whoever has the most health and defense and walk them at the head of the pack. The choice to go ranged or magic is based mostly on saving you the trouble of trying to fit all four characters into melee range. It's okay, I guess, if you're into the sort of game it is and like buff dudes on your screen sometimes.
As a strategy game it's serviceable but it gets progressively easier and easier as you unlock skills by leveling, ironically the "hard" mode is actually the easy mode because while enemies are tougher and scale faster you also level up much faster as a result, on the other hand the leveling on normal mode is so damn slow it also doesn't really let you have fun with the mechanics or cast.Speaking of which the character building, while simple is actually quite nice and somewhat inventive, the game does give you reasons to bother with character building too as each map is built to cater to different niches and indeed a lot of maps will require characters with different skills to complete puzzles and unlock goodies, the map themselves are also quite well done but there's so damn many the game also gets old relatively fast, there's also a bug with the stealth skill that can softlock certain maps.Cast wise it's nothing special, some characters are nice but there's far too few choices between mutually exclusive party members to make replays worth it, especially since again, the game has a shitload of maps, on the plus side not only can you draw your own sprites, you can also recruit anything on the map so you can make custom parties of whatever enemies you want which is quite cute if you're into "monster collecting", and the game is actually not so bara focused that people who want monstergirls can't have fun, in fact there's quite a few of them.If you're looking for porn though there's none outside of some explicit enemy sprites and some VN segments that don't really show or tell much outside of some romance or casual sex, and in that sense it's 90% gay too.The music is quite nice, nothing special but there's a couple of earworms here and there and unfortunately, due to the sheer amount of content it also isn't varied enough. All in all it's a decent little game, the gameplay is quite easy, but it's original and interesting enough to warrant a playthrough.
>>736306654What are you, gay?
>>736306654I thought it was fine, I enjoyed it. If you are into dark fantasy you may like the game but if you are just looking for a kinky game for easy faps you are likely to be disappointed, which might sound funny given the game has plenty of full frontal nudity sprites, but not many actual sex scenes (and the little there is fade to black implied). You aren't going to be dating every character you come across, instead you'll form a brigade to survive and the characters will slowly open up to you and talk about their feelings or how they ended up in the island, making a bond with them. The combat is serviceable, just the usual turn-based "tactics" stuff. I didn't think the game was empty, there's a lot of levels to explore, for better or worse. I also liked the music and had some fun and giggles with the character creator.

>>736309860>So why is Retro Game Challenge compared so directly to UFO 50?Both try to emulate the feeling of being an 80s kid trying out different retro games and seeing which ones are cool and which ones are Rally King.Where RGC succeeds is in the wrapper: the fake manuals and magazines make it more immersive, and there's a sense of progression and time passing. Every time you beat a challenge, you wonder if Arino will walk in with a new magazine, and what kind of games will be teased in it, or perhaps some tips and cheats for your current one. If you didn't look online, you may not even know if a game you liked is getting a sequel. Also, RGC challenges are a better implementation of the house/gold/cherry system. Really forcing players to get acquainted with a game before dropping it.Most games in UFO are a bit of an acquired taste, but a lot of players will drop them after 10 minutes or less if they don't immediately click with them.

>>736303540To add to what other anon have said, it's extremely easy to get into. The core loop is self evident and simple, while having depth and player expression for people who stick with it.As a personal experience anecdote, I once went to an intelligentsia birthday party to a girl who I only tangentially knew. We had like 4 hours to kill before other people arrive and finished most of the chores in advance. So i've installed HoMM3 on their home PC to kill time in hotseat. We had a lovely time playing it, then a nice the party, despite me feeling out of place in my jeans and nerd look while everyone was dressed in suits and the birthday girl played a beautiful classical piece on a piano. The were mid-high class for sure.A week goes by, and she mentions that after we left, her whole family, a bookworm mom with actual stacks of papers and /mu/head dad, as well as her friends who were at the party have been playing the game the whole week and are totally hooked. Her dad burned me a stack of CDs with The Who albums and live recordings.HoMM 3 is an equivalent of having a deck of cards on you, to whip out and instantly make some friends.

Just to add what other anons said, HoMM3 is popular even to this day in Poland for similar reasons - it was also one of few games that had full translation (including dub) and didn't cost arm and leg, being fairly affordable to everyone legally and of course, ran on potato.
How is it that RCT came out in 1999 and it's STILL the gold standard if your autistic hyperfixation is rollercoasters?
>>736307217>>736307394How about Parkitect?
>>736307609have not tried, but in general do prefer the more simple 2d looking tycoon games. maybe it's nostalgia but feel like everything is simpler to see and do
RCT is easy to get into and play, has a lot of simulation depth when you start gitting gud, and the pre-rendered aesthetics are top notch.Everything else is either ugly, too simplistic, or gets too autistic about the wrong sort of gameplay mechanics.
I played this one as a kid on the dsIt's not as good as RCT but it's the one I like to come back to
>>736307217>>736307609The problem with these games is, literally, they're 3D. The editor is too finicky in 3D space. RCT's 2D isometric editor simply is the best way to create roller coasters.
